She Was To Young To Die

Here is another true story that happened to me back in, I think 2006. I have always thought of it as "The Chilling Murder In The Bathroom" I had just moved into this great 1 bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor of an historical building in lansingburgh NY. The apartment had been redone, so it was nice. The house was built in 1890. The house was said to have been on the corner lot, but had gotten moved two doors down at some point in time. Anyway it was a huge house and was under renovations at the time. There were only, including myself 4 other people living in the building. And the apartments were all just 1 bedrooms. The building basically had from what I could tell 8 apartments, but the floor plan was odd. There is a fully enclosed front porch, and the building had a huge open area as you walked in, which had what appeared to be very old striped wallpaper, and was rather drab and dark in appearance . The carpet was old and worn out. I think it was one of those old time floral patterns. It also had a bit of a musty smell to it, with no movement of air about the place.

There were 3 apartments on the 1st floor, the laundry room, and basement stairs, which were weather worn, due to the dampness, and very narrow, and yes I did have to go down there one night when I blew a circuit breaker. There were a few different rooms in the basement, and it was dark, scary and eerie. The house had a very old feel to it and a coldness about it. I can't quite put my finger on it. At night it always seemed like there were hidden eyes just watching. The antique chandelier lights were very dim, and cast an eerie glow to the worn vestibule. I at the time worked nights, so I really took notice of it. I hated coming home at night, and always tried to get upstairs quickly . Two of the three apartments on the first floor had their own separate little back entrances. Only one apartment was occupied, by an old drunk guy. There is a good sized driveway, and not much of a backyard to speak of and it had been neglected, and not to mention the old and broken down rotting garage.

On the 2nd floor was the other girls apartment, and my apartment, and the one that was gutted and being renovated, which was right next door to mine. On the 3rd floor there was a guy with his friendly cat whom roamed the building freely, and invited itself in if your door was left open for any reason. I had a cat as well, but this did not bother the visiting cat and he made himself at home, even to the point of taking a nap, and eating my cat food. Funny how the guy never worried about his cat or what it was up to.

Anyway I saw the apartment and fell in love with it. It was bright and airy, and had a small kitchenette. I really did not notice anything odd about the apartment when I was moving in, as it took me about a week to move in. It was winter and we were going through a frozen snap with snow and freezing rain.. I'm talking ice everywhere. So I am unpacking my boxes in the livingroom, and a voice comes out of nowhere, I would say around 6pm in the evening. A young girls voice said to me.. "do you know what happened here? I'm like huh? I go on with what I was doing, and she said. He murdered me in the bathroom. I just stood still, and 'said oh no, what now?, but I already knew it was a ghost. I have had experiences with them in the past. Anyway she told me her story. They fought. Her boyfriend accused her of cheating on him, he stabbed her many times and it had been very violent. She said the blood had covered the walls. At that point I started to shake and tears ran down my face. I walked over to the bathroom and could see the old blood stains seeping through the wall, even though it really was not there, The walls were white with no marks. As time went on I found out she was always there. She would move things around my apartment, and I'm talking about things like knick knacks. One time I came home and there was silverware in the sink!, and a drawer was open in the coffee table I had, and I never used that drawer for anything. This really spooked me.

I always had the feeling I had to be quiet there. I used to pretty much tip toe around. I never felt like it was my place. I felt like I was a visitor in my own apartment. Another time later on when the weather was getting better and warmer, we had a really bad electrical storm, and I was laying in bed near the window. The lightning shot over me and hit the carpet! It actually left a mark. Funny thing though, I could deal with all that, but what I could not deal with was when the girl across the hall got her "Bad " boyfriend..., and he would lurk about the building when they were fighting, and she would throw him out. That is when I decided to move out. I wonder how that played out for her in the end? I have to drive by the street many times and it is on my way to just about every place I have to go. I sometimes look at the house and wonder who lives there now, and if the ghost ever visits them. The house even from a distance has a sad, forlorn, and depressing look and feel about it. The house seems to be falling into such a sad state of disrepair . Like it is standing still in a time of long ago. The Chilling murder In The Bathroom is something I will never forget. Just thinking of it now sends a cold shudder through me.
