The Symbol Of The Cross!

Every Christian recognizes the Cross as a Symbol of Jesus & his ultimate sacrifice. There are a great variety of Crosses & they are also artistically beautiful! We will present Crosses & give a brief History on the Cross itself. Many Christians are emotionally moved by the visage of Christ's Sacrifice!

"The Christian cross, seen as a representation of the instrument of the crucifixion of Jesus, is the best-known symbol of Christianity.[1] It is related to the crucifix (a cross that includes a corpus, usually a three-dimensional representation of Jesus' body) and to the more general family of cross symbols, the term cross itself being detached from the original specifically Christian meaning in modern English (as in many other western languages).[2]

The basic forms of the cross are the Latin cross with unequal arms (✝) and the Greek cross (✚) with equal arms, besides numerous variants, partly with confessional significance, such as the tau cross, the double-barred cross, triple-barred cross, cross-and-crosslets, and many heraldic variants, such as the cross potent, cross pattée, cross moline, cross fleury, etc."~Wikipedia

Whether the form of the Simple Cross? Or The Crucifix with the Body Of Jesus attached(known as the Corpus), the Symbol internationally represents Christianity to the World! Kneeling & making the sign of the Cross known as 'genuflection' is still used in the Catholic Church. Making the Cross signature without kneeling is used among many Christian Churches.

The cross has many diverse representations. We shall examine some of the variety of Crosses & recognize their unique interpretations! This is important to all Christians that make the Cross their own!
