Evolution - Scientific Justification for Rebellion Against God
The Seven Seals of One's Last Will and Testament.
Why is the Scroll of Great Importance?
As we see from Revelation 5:1, it is in the right hand of the indescribable God the Father. We may not comprehend now, the appearance of the Father to John, but as we are made in His image, He has hands just as we do. To the Middle-eastern culture, the "right hand" carries great significance and even in our Western lingo we used the phrase; "right-hand man". It has a biblical basis in fact: Psalm 20:6 "...the saving strength of His right hand.."; Psalm 98:1 "..His right hand.....has gotten Him the victory"; Romans 8:34 - intercession for you and I, is found at His right hand; Hebrews 1:3; 8:1; 10:12; 12:2 Christ is found at the right hand of the Father. Let us not forget a mother's wish for her son's of thunder in Matthew 20:20-21.
The Scroll's Description
John could see the writing as easily as we can see the writing on the scroll in the picture above because we are looking at the "backside". A scroll was always written on the inside but seldom was it written on the backside which could lead us to conclude that this was a very comprehensive document without a jot or tittle omitted. It was sealed by God because the only one worthy to open the scroll is the Lamb. Revelation 13:8 states "...of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world", meaning this scroll was sealed before the six days of creation: this is one very old document! It was written in the language of heaven and only heaven knows what that means. It was a common practice in the Roman world of that day to use seven seals on a person's "last will and testament". (Hebrews 9:15-28 the testator of our inheritance is our Lord Jesus Christ.) You might be able to counterfeit or repair a single seal but seven is almost impossible. Notice that the scroll cannot be read until the 7th seal is broken. Many people hold that the seven seals are "judgments" in themselves. I believe when we compare the balance of the book of Revelation against the seals and the visions John received at each opening, what we have here is truly a heavenly outline of, …the things which shall be hereafter. In layman's terms; a table of contents for chapters 6 to 19.
John's reaction of tears to "...who is worthy to open the scroll" stresses two great and urgent needs for it's opening: 1) our need to know what awaits this world that we may live a godlier life in the here and now, and 2) the need for those who are consigned to live and die during the 70th week to have a source of hope in the darkest of hours ever suffered by humanity since the flood.
Slain from the foundation of the world.
The Lamb Slain
They say a picture is worth a 1,000 words, but in reality, I cannot imagine what John saw. These things we do know:
- Jesus is the Lion of Judah - Genesis 49:8-10
- Jesus is the Root of David - Isaiah 9:7; 11:1
- Jesus is the Lamb of God - John 1:29, 36
- Jesus is the Lion and the Lamb; the Redeemer and King of Kings
He who was dead for our sins but now lives to sanctify His Bride and all who shall live with Him forever, stands in the midst of the throne; NOT before the throne. He is central to all worship and is surrounded by the four living ones and the twenty-four elders who in turn are encircled by the angels of heaven. He is the Omnipotent One (7-horns) Daniel 7:14; He is the Omniscient One (7-eyes) 2 Chronicles 16:9 & Zechariah 4:10; and it pleased the Father to give Him the scroll Isaiah 53:10-12. Isn't it interesting that even the most pagan of religions that a sacrifice is required for purification, appeasement of who knows what and for religious power over the people.
The Day that Creation worshipped the Creator.
Creation is much wiser than man when it comes to worship.
Worship by the Four Living Ones, the Twenty-four Elders and the angels of heaven is easy for us to understand; they are in the presence of God Almighty, but when it comes to the worship by creation, too many consider it to be symbolic only. Why, oh why do we pass over creation so easily when we have so much in common.
Why is creation such a confusing subject with so many Christians? Those who have a problem with God as Creator of such a "young" universe and desire to incorporate modern evolutionary theory with the Scriptures will have many other issues with the great Truths of the Word. Jesus said in john 5:47 "...but if ye believe not his (moses') writings, how shall ye believe my (Jesus') words? Today, men in white lab coats have seduced much of the western Christian world and I can attest to this sad fact; for many I call friend, brother and sister.
Worship by creation is a theme of Scripture and as Jesus said to the Pharisees who wanted Him to silence the crowd as He entered Jerusalem, "I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out." (Luke 19:40) Psalm 96:11-12, "Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar and the fullness thereof. Let the field be joyful and all that is therein: then shall all the trees of the woods rejoice." In Isaiah 55:12, "...for ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands." We need to take serious note of Revelation 5:14 and not be put to shame by the very ground we are standing upon.
Remember, this world is suffering from the curse of sin along with us; all by the reason of man's fall in the Garden of Eden. Weigh what I say against the passage in Romans 8:18-22, for creation is waiting for the day when the Sons of God shall be made known; in bondage of corruption as we speak but awaiting the day of our glorious liberty from sin.
Many wiles of the devil are easy to swallow and too often seem easy to digest. He is a very cleaver adversary and unless we take God's Word very seriously and literally, we will find ourselves too easy of a mark for his wicked devices.
Erasmus Darwin, Grandfather of Charles.
Charles Darwin - Author of the Evolutionist's Bible.
Birth of the Modern Lie!
Caveat: remember, there is nothing new under the sun. Satan does not have any new tricks but repackages old ones in modern clothing with new and willing dupes to lead the way. Such as:
The French Revolution in 1793, which included a great Bible burning crusade and the persecution of those opposed was fueled by two major writings: Descartes' - Discourse on Method and Rousseau's - The Social Contract. Descartes wrote that the universe is governed by mathematical laws alone and man has no free will, thus no divine intervention is needed in the affairs of men. Whereas, Rousseau preached that all laws are based upon the will of the people rather than God.
In England around the same time the Lunar Society was formed in an attempt to rid England of all religion. The founder and the writer of the book Zoonomia, which would become the bible and basis for most of Charles Darwin's theories, was none other than his grandfather, Erasmus Darwin. The flood gates were opened:
- John Hutton, 1726-1797, a Quaker developed the theory of uniformitarianism: the earth's history was long; change is the normal course of events and the Bible should NOT be taken literally.
- Charles Lyell, 1797-1875, writer of The Principles of Geology which incorporated Hutton's new theories and was one of Charles Darwin's most loved books.
- Charles Darwin, 1809-1875, On the Origins of Species and The Descent of Man are the bibles of today's evolutionists. A 21st degree Freemason, a personal friend of Karl Marx with a shared belief in humanism and agnosticism but argued over capitalism. He freely spoke against the idea of a Creator and that we, the believers are the problem.
The lie goes mainstream within the halls of once great centers of Christian education.
- Hugh Miller, 1802-1856, a theologian wrote the book, The Testimony of the Rocks, which tried to make the Darwin theory fit with the Bible; thus the Long Day theory was born.
- Thomas Chalmers, 1780-1847, incorporated the Gap theory.
- Asa Gray, 1810-1888, theologian and botany professor at Harvard along with James Dana, 1813-1895, divinity professor at Yale became devoted Darwinists after reading Origins.
Let us not become the proverbial frog and become comfortable in a pot of warm water that will eventually boil us to our doom. Worship our Lord Jesus not as Savior only but as Creator, Lord God Almighty and the Word. As we look to our Lord's coming, may we realize that the surrounding creation longs for our glorification more perfectly than we do ourselves.
