People often see a strange flickering light in the north watch tower of the old fort. This light has been seen for at least for a hundred or more years and there is no source for the light. Hundreds if not thousands of people have seen this strange flickering light in the old north watch tower of the fort. People including myself who have seen an old time kerosene lantern burning in the wind say that the light looks just like an old kerosene or coal oil lantern that would have been carried by a guard on duty in the old north watch tower.
Plains Indians Are Often Spotted Around The Old Fort
Plains Indians from the plains tribes were brought here to the fort and were imprisoned here for a number of years. Some spent years in the small dark rooms way down under the fort. Many people over the years have watched in amazement as a American Indian dressed in the clothes of a Sioux brave runs along the top of the fort and then jumps over the wall to the shallow water below. It is a documented fact that Crow Dog who was a member of the Lakota Sioux threw himself off the top of the fort in December of 1877. He was killed instantly when he struck rocks just under the water just below the fort.
What's amazing about this story is that people who see this brave run along the top of the wall almost always say he jumps almost exactly where the Sioux Brave did in real life. How could they possibly pick the almost exact spot where the incident happened.
Little Girl Ghost
No one knows who she is or what time period she came from but a little 5 - 7 year old girl is often seen running and playing around the front of the fort usually at dawn or dusk. She is wearing a simple white dress and has long brown hair and is often heard laughing as she runs along playing.
Unknown Graves
In recent years it has been determined that there are a number of graves around the fort out on the grassy areas that previously no one knew about.

Fort East Martello Museum Is Home To Robert The Doll In Key West
Robert The Doll is said to be possessed by evil spirits and the doll was the inspiration for the Movie Chucky and the Doll Chucky.
In October of 2013 I was allowed to hold the doll and it was quite the experience. A female worker at the museum handed me the doll and almost as soon as I took it in my arms I was overcome with a feeling of fear and doom. As I was holding the doll in my arms and looking at it closely I felt it tremble in my arms and then I felt its body get hotter and hotter.
I could not get this evil thing out of my arms fast enough and I knew I never wanted to hold it ever again. It contains an entity that is pure evil and I could feel it in the doll. I know it was one of my spookiest ever experiences.
That night back in my hotel room I dreamed about Robert The Doll and it was chasing me around the hotel room trying to kill me. When I woke up I jumped out of the bed and I swear I saw that evil doll run under the bed. I looked under the bed and it was not there but it scared the hell out of me and I left Key West the next morning two days early. I can say that Robert The Doll had spooked the hell out of me.
