Be Committed To God.

Updated on April 17, 2015

sign of commitment

Hurrah !, we are committed.
Hurrah !, we are committed.

Strive to be consistent

We Are Consistent.
We Are Consistent.

Be Consistent.

Though God is a merciful God, giving His rain, sun shine and other beneficial elements of creation to man on a platter of gold, He still remains a jealous God, He still deserved to be served not with the character of the coat of many colours that cannot be held responsible or defined as a colour but with the zeal of an endangered soldier who must fight to break out of danger or die.

Many Christians today sing and claim the blessings of Abraham, some call fire to descend and burn down obstacles and stumbling blocks like Elijah the prophet, others cry aloud for one heaven –sent force or bullet to manifest and destroy the enemy’s camp. Too pregnant and full of great expectations, this group of Christians may pray and break their necks ,they may cry and spit fire and make all the waves in warfare , to no avail.

Why ?, this is because, they lack the concentration and commitment to make such waves, unlike those they follow their footsteps. Elijah and Elisha, Moses, Aaron and Joshua, Joseph and David, Daniel and Jeremiah, Paul, Silas, Peter and the greatest of them all, our Lord and master Jesus Christ, showed great commitment to God. In other words commitment is the path to both physical and spiritual blessings. Commitment and obedience to what God handed down to them.

Many Christians are bent on searching out God’s blessings, even if they are hidden in the rocks, but each time the issue of commitment to God’s works and His way of life is mentioned, they rather play the tortoise ,shrinking into their shells and or remain neutral. Unknown to them, commitment is the surest path to the many blessings God has lined up for His children. Commitment is the surest path to grab for keeps, the many blessings of Abraham which we claim “Are mine”.

A closer look at those mentioned earlier in this write-up showed commitment .Abraham who left behind his kindred, to answer the call of a God he never saw face to face, also willingly, went ahead to offer for sacrifice [on God’s instructions] his long awaited son Isaac.

David decided never to offer unto God what did not cost him nothing, he fought the battles of the Lord, offered to build Him [God ] a befitting temple and had himself engraved in the heart of God.

Abel’s accepted sacrifice was a sign of commitment to please God the creator.

Daniel was committed to pleasing God even when the hungry lions where waiting to tear him up for food

Jeremiah refused to bow to blackmail and torture, he showed commitment and must speak what God told him to speak to the people.

Joshua and Caleb were more committed than the others, they bluntly refused to give discouraging reports, but rather, told the people they were able to do all things with God on their side .Joshua 24;15.

Commitment was all that led Moses to leave the royal line he was toeing, to become a shepherd and later took an honorable place amongst God’s despised people as their leader. But before commitment, comes the call of God and the acceptance of the call—

Respond Today

This you must do.
This you must do.

The Call First..

Colosians .2:7>> As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him—Has God called you,? Are you sure you as a Christian is operating on genuine conversion or mere church goer? We are saved to serve, every believer have been saved and called to work for the advancement of Christ’s kingdom.

Matthew 20:1-6 For the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is a householder, which went out early in the morning to hire laborers into his vineyard. And when he had agreed with the laborers for a penny a day, he sent them into his vineyard. And he went out about the third hour, and saw others standing idle in the marketplace, And said unto them; Go ye also into the vineyard, and whatsoever is right I will give you. And they went their way. Again he went out about the sixth and ninth hour, and did likewise. And about the eleventh hour he went out, and found others standing idle, and saith unto them, Why stand ye here all the day idle? They say unto him, Because no man hath hired us. He saith unto them, Go ye also into the vineyard; and whatsoever is right, that shall ye receive.

The call is for everyone, just recognize you have also been called, that the call to fly the flag of the great commission is not only for pastors and full time evangelists but if you commit yourself to it, you shall then be considered to receive the power that activates the holy ghost in you>>>Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth..

Of a truth, most Christians agree there is a commission to be paid greater attention to, but their approach is better known as lip service and rebellious . Whenever you answer the call, make haste to allow your ego, your wealth, your little purse, your time, and talent. Spirit, soul and body , bringing in your tithes and offerings so that there s will be meat in the house of God backing it up with prayers, then you can beat your physical chest.

The Consistency ; Consistency plays a vital role in every endeavor of life, as a footballer, you must be consistent in practice sessions to make the vital eleven, as a researcher, you must be consistent in the studio, in order to come out with flawless theories, as a business or woman, you must be consistent in the field before you can smile home with gains etc. Commitment and consistency work hand in hand. Commitment without consistency gives room for quick decline In focus while consistency without commitment is balderdash.

Romans 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. It is only a committed Christian that will take heed to this warning for we cannot serve the Lord Jesus Christ in unrighteousness ..

Psalm 50; 16-23.

But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee. When thou sawest a thief, then thou consentedst with him, and hast been partaker with adulterers. Thou givest thy mouth to evil, and thy tongue frameth deceit. Thou sittest and speakest against thy brother; thou slanderest thine own mother's son. These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes. Now consider this, ye that forget God, lest I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver. Whoso offereth praise glorifieth me: and to him that ordereth his conversation aright will I shew the salvation of God.

After salvation, we need to take grace from God and walk consistently on calvary’s pathway, walk consistently in obedience, in love and faith, lifting up holy hands wherever we are and presenting our bodies holy and as our reasonable service

1 Corinthians 6:16-20

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh. But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Need To Be always committed

Expect answers from life.
Expect answers from life.

Beware.

The Cloud Of Witnesses

Perhaps I need to remind all that are committed to God’s work that even if they fall into the tempters ditch, God promised, they will not be swallowed, for great is their reward in heaven for so persecuted they the prophets that were there before you-

Matthew 5:11-13

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden underfoot of men.

Though they were persecuted and hindered by the devil, they persevered until heaven witnessed on their behalf, I am talking of Abraham, Joshua, Caleb, Samuel, Elijah, Elisha, the list is long. They have gone and are now sitting comfortably on the everlasting stands, cheering us up. If God can open your eyes to these realities, you will be prodded to more commitment and be more consistent in all areas of your life. Our great God 9is never is never unrighteous to forget your labour of love, every work in the kingdom done without bitterness, rancor, strife etc , certainly counts. They will surely be rewarded. You We, shall reap in due season if we don’t faint. We are encouraged to be strong in the Lord, in our convictions, be consistent in the commitment thereof. Faithful seed sowing is followed by great harvest, there is certainty of great wages of our faithful services in God’s house if we continue to be committed and also consistent in doing so.

Hebrews 12:1-2

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
