The Holy Spirit at Work: Christian Poems 2
As with the other poems in part 1, God inspired me to write these as well. Most of the time I am completely surprised when I am done and read them over. It is as if God is speaking to me, teaching me, giving me truths that I was not aware of and I have learned a lot because of them.
This poem was special to me because it was the first time God really impressed upon me that just by virtue of the very fact that we are here on earth, that we were ever born at all, makes us all special. Before God even created the universe, He knew us. He chose us when He planned creation. He knows everything about us, every hair is numbered, the exact time of our birth and where we would live was determined by God before time began. You are not a mistake or just a random act of nature, for all of your days are written in His book. Just think about it..every single person that is on this planet is a child of God, is loved by God equally and was purposefully made in the image of God, planned by God to be here.. right here, right now and because you are it means that you are special and God loves you more then you can ever imagine!
MIRACLE OF LIFE
Miracles do happen, they happen every day
though many choose to close their eyes, it's a coincidence they say
I don't believe in coincidence or in simple random chance,
I don't believe that chaos rules, that life cannot be enhanced
I know my God loves me more then that, for He created me to live,
He gave me life and put me here to love, to laugh, to give
and in return He promised me, He'd be with me everyday
to provide for all that I would need to live my life this way
He loves each one of us equally, His word says this is so
no matter how we choose to live our lives or what we reap and sow
He's no respecter of persons, no matter what we do or say
with those who walk along His path or those who've lost their way
Each one of us is special just because we're here on earth,
created in His image from the moment of our birth
His spirit lives in each of us, each one a king and queen,
united always with our Father, King of Kings, the Lord Supreme
Just open up your eyes and ears and think upon my word,
you were not born a tree or frog, a monkey or a bird
From the starving child in India, to the Pope himself in Rome
He waits eagerly for each of us to return to our Heavenly home
Oh miracles do happen, they happen every day
and if you're here to read my words, that's just one more miracle today
1.O Lord, you have examined me, and you know me.
2You alone know when I sit down and when I get up.
You read my thoughts from far away.
3You watch me when I travel and when I rest.
You are familiar with all my ways.
29 "Aren't two sparrows sold for only a penny? But not one of them falls to the ground without your Father knowing it. 30 He even counts every hair on your head! 31 So don't be afraid. You are worth more than many sparrows.
28 'In him we live and move and exist.' As some of your own poets have also said, 'We are his children.'
4 A message came to me from the Lord. He said,
5 "Before I formed you in your mother's body I chose you.
Before you were born I set you apart to serve me.
I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations."
11 We were also chosen to belong to him. God decided to choose us long ago in keeping with his plan. He works out everything to fit his plan and purpose. 12 We were the first to put our hope in Christ. We were chosen to bring praise to his glory.
15 None of my bones was hidden from you
when you made me inside my mother's body.
That place was as dark as the deepest parts of the earth.
When you were putting me together there,
16 your eyes saw my body even before it was formed.
You planned how many days I would live.
You wrote down the number of them in your book
before I had lived through even one of them.
26 From one man he made all the people of the world. Now they live all over the earth. He decided exactly when they should live. And he decided exactly where they should live.
1 John 3:1
1 How great is the love the Father has given us so freely! Now we can be called children of God. And that's what we really are! The world doesn't know us because it didn't know him.
The Lord looked down from Heaven and His heart was full of grief,
seeing all the chaos here on earth as His children lost belief
After all the miracles He had done to set His people free,
somehow they still ignored the laws He wrote for them to see
Doing not as He had told them to, living not the way they should,
forgetting all that He had done for them, doing only what felt good
He had to make a way to redeem them once and for all,
from Adam's sin in Eden, that was the cause of man's fall
He had to bridge the gap, getting wider from their sin,
to make a way to enter Heaven, to bring us back to Him
" I'll send My Son as one of them so that they might see,
how very much I love them and just what they mean to Me
My Son must live and die for them, shedding His precious blood to win
their deliverance from the evil one and for the cleansing of their sin"
Three days He spent in Hell for us and on the third He rose,
conquering sin and death for everyone, reclaiming His lost souls
So sing His praises one and all and thank Him for what He's done,
winning the war against His fallen angels, forever defeating the evil one
Jesus said, “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many”
2 Corinthians 5:21
21God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
He came to give his life, to die, and his death would result in salvation for others. This was the reason he came to earth. His blood was poured out for others
Blessed be the Lord God of Israel; for he hath visited and redeemed his people
8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
3For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
12He did not enter by means of the blood of goats and calves; but he entered the Most Holy Place once for all by his own blood, having obtained eternal redemption.
13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree
