The Imminency of the Kingdom of God

The Kingdom of God is at Hand !!!

Two thousand years ago, the Lord Jesus began preaching the coming of the Kingdom of God, as it is written in Matthew 4:17, “Repent for the kingdom of God has come near.” Today, we are now in the 21st century, the Kingdom of God has become more imminent or it may come any moment. The stage is now set for the arrival of the lawless one, the man of perdition, the “Antichrist.” We are living in a very chaotic world, a world filled with distresses. As of the present, multiple wars and riots are happening simultaneously all over the globe. We are living in an era wherein the frequent occurrences of earthquakes, wildfires, category five typhoon, tonadoes, outbreaks of new diseases are now considered the new “normal.” Out of this troubled world, a new order is about to rise, the New World Order headed by the one world leader, the Antichrist. Prior to this, at any moment, the “Harpazo” or the “Rapture,” or the snatching away of the true believers in Christ is about to happen.

The “great falling away” has become very evident in our generation, the fig tree generation. There is a tremendous rise in promiscuity during our time. Ours is the “Noah Days,” spoken by Jesus, a time characterized by excessive violence and lewdness. This generation has become terribly wicked in the eyes of God. This great “falling away” spoken by Apostle Paul in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 is a major circumstance that should take place before the revealing of the “Antichrist.” Since we are witnessing in our time this great rebellion it further implies the imminency of the “Harpazo.” I believe that the “Rapture” of the Church (Bride of Christ) will happen before the revealing of the Antichrist for it is written in 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8a, “For the secret power of lawlessness is already at work; but the one who now holds it back will continue to do so till he is taken out of the way. And then the lawless one will be revealed.” The works of darkness had taken place already even during the time of the Apostles, but there is someone who holds back or controls the works of darkness that keeps it from progressing further to its maximum height. Who is that one? But one day he will be taken out of the way, then the Antichrist will be revealed. I believe that “one”is the Holy Spirit , the third Person of the Triune God. He will be taken out of this world at the time of Harpazo, the Rapture of the Church. The Holy Spirit came into this world at the time of “Pentecost,” that is the time the Church of Jesus Christ was born. At Harpazo, the Holy Spirit together with the Church will be taken out, then the lawless one will be revealed. If the revealing of the Antichrist has now become more imminent, how much closer the “Rapture” or “Harpazo” has become. After the rapture, a new dispensation will take place, the seven-year tribulation or known as the 70th week of Daniel or the Jacob's trouble or what the Bible call the "DAY OF the LORD".

During this period, God will pour down His wrath upon the earth, this is a period of judgement for those who rejected the Gospel of Christ and lived in disobedience or those who lived in wickedness or apart from the will of God. The distress that will be experienced during this time will be unequalled from the beginning of time, it will be just like experiencing hell on earth.

To be delivered from the rule and power of the Antichrist, and be part of the “Harpazo,” or be among those who will be taken out of this world before the coming of the seven-year Tribulation, repent of your sin and receive Christ as your Savior and Lord. God’s justice system requires a death sentence for us, for it is written, “The wages of sin is death(Romans 6:23).” Christ died for us, that we receive pardon for our sins. We have to put our faith in Christ finished work on the cross for the forgiveness of our sin (Hebrews 10:14). His sacrifice is perfect, complete and sufficient. We have to repent from our sinful, worldly and self-centered lifestyle and surrender ourselves to Christ’s Lordship. We have to forgive all those who have hurted us either emotionally or physically. We have to forgive to be forgiven by God (Matthew 6:15). Then we will have our portion in the Kingdom of God.

Don’t wait further for the coming of the Tribulation to begin your journey towards God and repentance, surrender your life to Christ NOW. Tribulation may be very difficult for you to bear, for it will require your martyrdom to follow Christ. And you can never know if you have the capability to resist the fierceness or harshness of the Antichrist.

Here are the final words of warning from the Master and our soon coming King:

"Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man".

Luke 21:36

The word "for" has been added. When you read Young's Literal Translation, it says:

"And he hath strengthened a covenant with many -- one week, and [in] the midst of the week he causeth sacrifice and present to cease"

Verse 26 states: "And after the sixty and two weeks, cut off is Messiah"

If 457/458 is used, then the end of the 69th week takes you to the time Jesus was baptized. Jesus was killed about midway through (midst) of the 70th week, which was after the 69th week. It doesn't say that Messiah was killed at the end of the 69th week or even in-between the 69th and 70th week. Jesus was not born in the year 1 AD, but in 3 or 4 BC. Which mean that He died in 30 AD.

Like I said before, this is a Messianic prophecy. It signifies the end of the old sacrificial system, the coming of the Messiah who was the ultimate sacrifice for sin, the timing of His death and the eventual destruction of the city and temple.

Adding any other persons or events to this prophecy is simply adding to scripture.

In the passage Daniel 9: 27,

"He will confirm a covenant with many for a week or one 'seven'

What does this one 'seven' stand for or represent?

Just an FYI, you don't have to recalculate years for the Jewish calendar since it only has 360 days vs the Gregorian that has 365.25 days. Most people don't take into account that the Jewish calendar has "leap years". A leap year in the Jewish calendar has 13 months and occurs 7 times in a 19-year cycle. In Hebrew, a leap year is referred to as Shanah Me'uberet, or pregnant year. This keeps their calendar in sync with the Gregorian and solar calendar over long periods of time, otherwise events like the Passover would eventually end up in the summer, fall and winter and the Feast of Tabernacles, which is based on the harvest, would be out of season most of the time.

There is an issue with the idea that 445 BC marked the beginning of Daniel’s 70 weeks, because that would mean that the Messiah would have come in 37 A.D. Besides, the command was not given to rebuild the city in 445, they only rebuilt the wall that surrounded the city. Using the 457/8 year in Ezra 2 takes us to 26/27 AD which would be about the time that Jesus was baptized.

Like I said before, since no gap was inferred in this prophecy, wouldn’t it be adding to scripture to say that there is?

The “he” can only be one of two aforementioned people; the Messiah or the prince. The object in 26 is “the people/armies of the prince” would come and destroy the city and sanctuary. This is the same city and sanctuary that the Jews would have built after returning from exile. That would have been Titus. This leaves us with only one option, the one who established a firm covenant with many was Christ. It is God that is the covenant-maker. This isn’t a seven-year treaty that would be broken, it doesn’t say anything about that.

Yes, Jesus mentioned the abomination that would cause desolation. Jesus was referencing the temple being destroyed as He proclaimed in the beginning of the chapter and the disciples inquired when that would take place. In Luke 21, he used the phrase “when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies” instead of abomination that causes desolation, they were both referring to the same event, the destruction of the city and temple that Daniel wrote about in chapter 9.

Who do you think the "he" in this passage refers to:

      Daniel 9:27c;

"And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, "

Jesus mentioned about this in Matthew 24: 15.

      Daniel 9:24 -27 speaks of the 70 weeks of Daniel, It is written in Daniel 9:24;

"Seventy 'sevens' are decreed for your people and your holy city to finish transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place."

      Daniel 9:25a;

Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the "Anointed One, the ruler comes, there will be seven 'sevens', and sixty-two 'sevens'

This is equivalent to 69 sevens or weeks or 69 times 7

which is equivalent to 173,880 days. From the time king Artaxerxes gave the decree to rebuild Jerusalem on March 14, 445 BC to the time of the presentation of the Messiah on April 6 32 AD, there were 173,880 days considering the Jewish 360- day calendar.

There is a big gap from the time of the Messiah and the Tribulation Period, the 70th week of Daniel. This gap is the Church Age or the Dispensation of grace. This dispesation will be ended by the "Harpazo".

I assumed that there could be a gap of about one year between Harpazo and Tribulation because Psalm 83 wars might happen after harpazo but before Tribulation. I am not dogmatic about it, I am just stating a possibility.

Gog and Magog were literal people and kingdoms of ancient times. This prophecy is in the midst of God's condemnation of Israel and the surrounding nations. Modern-day Russia is not Gog or Magog.

There are only two people that Daniel spoke of: The Messiah and the prince whose armies would come and destroy the temple and city. The word "he" is a pronoun and pronouns can only be used to talk about person who has been previously mentioned. The He is the Messiah who would establish an everlasting (firm) covenant with many. It was Christ's sacrifice that ended all atonement for sin.

Daniel 9 is about the Jews returning to Jerusalem, rebuilding the city and temple, the coming of the Messiah, His sacrifice and covenant and the eventual destruction of the same same city and temple that the returning Jews built after returning from Babylonian captivity.

Earlier you stated that we should not add to scripture, but by adding a third person (antichrist, a gap, third temple, tribulation period, etc., is in fact, adding to scripture.

Tribulation Period will start when the antichrist confirm the peace treaty not necessarily happen immediately just after the harpazo or rapture. There could be a gap period of at least one year between the harpazo and the Tribulation period. This is transition period from the dispensation of grace to seven-year Tribulation period. Isaiah 17(destruction of Damascus) and Psalm 83 might be fulfilled during this gap.

Ezekiel 38 and 39, Invasion of Israel by Russia and its allies might take place during the Tribulation Period.

It is written in Daniel 9:27:

"He will confirm a covenant with many for one 'seven'. In the middle of the 'seven' he will put an end to sacrifice and offering. And at the temple he will set up an abomination that causes desolation, until the end that is decreed is poured out on him."

This one "seven" represents the seven-year Tribulation Period.

He the "antichrist" will sign a treaty with many. Many may represent the nation Israel and its neighboring countries who are fighting for possession of their land for many years.

This seven-year treaty will make Israel secure for a period of three and a half years, the first half of the Tribulation Period, but later they will find out that this is a false security and false peace treaty. I believe one of the provisions of this peace treaty is the rebuilding of the third temple. The construction of this temple may be done during the first half of this seven-year Tribulation period. This seven-year Tribulation Period is also known as Daniel's 70th week. At the middle of this seven year, the antichrist will enter the temple and desecrate it and will declare himself as god and will demand to be worshiped.

      Christine,

Your prophecy teacher is correct, the book of Revelation was not intended to be read as chronological. The revelation of Jesus Christ means the revealing of Jesus Christ. It uses over 700 old testament references to paint a series of tapestries.

You can either read this book as a road map to the future or you can look at it as ways that the OT showed that Jesus Christ is the promised salvation which would have been a great source of hope to those who were enduring persecution for His name's sake.

I would refrain for saying that the woman in Revelation 12 represents national Israel, 10 of the tribes had ceased to exist by the time that Jesus was born. The woman represents those of Israel who were looking for Him to come. Paul tells us in Roman 9:6-8 that not who are of Israel are called Israel and that the seed of Abraham are those who believe upon the promise. Those who rejected Christ would not have been portrayed as a woman clothed with the sun, Jesus even told them that they were not true sons of Abraham.

As for Daniel 9, is there any mention of a period of tribulation, an antichrist, a future temple beyond the second, a massive gap in time or even a rapture associated with this prophecy?

Our prophecy teacher told us that the sequence of events written in the Book of Revelation is not necessarily in chronological order. The woman in Revelation 12 is the nation Israel, her crown of twelve crowns represent the twelve tribes of Israel. It is written in Revelation 12:6, "The woman fled into the wilderness to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days. This event will happen during the second half of the seven-year Tribulation Period. 1,260 days is equivalent to three and a half years, considering the Jewish calendar of 360 days per year. After the "abomination that causes desolation" spoken by prophet Daniel in 9:27, this event will happen during the middle of the seven-year Tribulation Period when the "antichrist" enter the temple and desecrate it. Then after this event, the nation Israel will abandon her land and will flee to the wilderness to a place prepared by God.

The male child is Jesus Christ, Jesus Christ came from the tribe of Judah, one of the twelve tribes of Israel thus Jesus came from Israel. The male child, who is Jesus was caught up to God during His ascension after a period of 40 days after His resurrection. He is Jesus because it is written there, "who will rule all the nations with an iron scepter." During the millenial reign of Christ on earth He will rule the nations.

It is written in Revelation 20:3,

"He threw him into the abyss, and locked him and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time."

Satan is bound to keep him from deceiving the nations, if he is thrown down the earth, surely he will keep on deceiving the people of the earth as what he is doing now. Revelation 20:3, I believe must be an event that will take place in some future time.

Every word in the Scripture should never be taken for granted, even a comma or a dot should not be ignored. It is very illogical for me to accept that Revelation 20:2-3 took place during the time period between the ascension of Christ and His return. I find it completely unacceptable.

      Christine,

Revelation 12 speaks of Satan and his angels being cast down to earth from heaven due to the fact that Christ overcame him and that victory has been gained because of the blood of the Lamb. This is not foretelling of a future event, but of the victory that Christ obtained over Satan and death, which is our victory as well. It appears as though Satan and his angels had access to heaven until the cross, since then he has been confined to this earth. John is using figurative speech. Satan is a spiritual being, chains as we know them can not constrain a spirit.

Yes, we continue to fight against these principalities, but Christ has already won the war.

I totally agree with you, when a prophecy gives us an anchor point, such as the coming male child in the old testament, it is a mistake to attempt to make those prophecies about today's State of Israel.

It is written in Revelation ch 20:2-3, "He seized the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil, or satan, and bound him for a thousand years. He threw him into the abyss, and locked him and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended."

You mentioned that this 1000 year represents a period between the ascension and return of Christ, if satan is bound during this period how come Apostle Paul kept on giving instruction about the spitual warfare of a christian (Ephesians 6) and he even said that satan is the god of this world 2Corinthians 4:4 and mentioned that the whole world lies in the evil one(I John 5:19). As far as i know Apostle Paul lived during the post ascension era.

      Christine,

You just mentioned the words literal, antichrist and Revelation in the same sentence. The term antichrist is found only in John's epistles and he used that term to describe anyone who denies both Father and Son. He never said that it was a person but said that it was the spirit of a man and that there were many, even in his day.

In Revelation 13 John saw a beast coming up from the sea that had traits of the first three beasts in Daniel 7. The fact that John saw this beast currently standing on the sands of the seashore indicates that this beast had already come to power. It was pagan Rome, who had just become the persecutor of the church. Daniel saw this beast in his vision and saw that it trampled the remainder under its feet. This was vision of Rome bringing the nation of Israel to an end, something that none of the previous three beasts had done.

This section of the book of Revelation was given so that the readers would know that what was happening to them had been foretold and that God was ultimately in control. Again, this would have been a source of comfort and hope to its readers.

Do you believe in the literal "antichrist" as written in Revelation 13:1, "the beast coming out of the sea"? The coming one world ruler who will rule with indescribable terror in the endtimes. How would you interpret Revelation 13:1-2?

      Tony Muse

      Hi Christine,

First off, I believe that the book of Revelation is extremely symbolic in nature and that inferring a literal interpretations has opened the door to many wild and crazy conclusions. The purpose of the book of Revelation was three-fold:

      1. To bring hope and comfort to fledgling church who was enduring persecution.

      2. To show what must SOON come to pass. Unlike the book of Daniel was to be sealed (Dan. 12:9), Revelation was not (Rev. 22:10)

      3. To reveal that Jesus was fulfillment of old testament prophecies; a “revelation/revealing OF Jesus Christ”.

Rev. 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John, 2 who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of the prophecy, and heed the things which are written in it; for the time is near.

Rev. 1:9 I, John, your brother and fellow partaker in the tribulation and kingdom and perseverance which are in Jesus, was on the island called Patmos because of the word of God and the testimony of Jesus.

When we lose sight of the actual intention of this book, we are in trouble.

Revelation 20 speaks of a thousand-year period, whether that is a literal time period or figurative is up to you to apply. Verse 4 speaks of books being opened, this is borrowed from Daniel 7:10 which I believe speaks of the ending of pagan empires and Christ being given His kingdom which took place when He ascended to the Father.

So, to answer your question, I believe that a “thousand years” began a long time ago and that it represents a vast amount of time between His ascending and His return when the wicked will rise and be judged. Turning this chapter in a 1000-year reign of Christ is out of context. Christ has reigned for nearly 2,000 years and will always reign. There is no mention of His dominion ever ending. In fact, Daniel 7:14 states that His dominion will be everlasting.

      Blessings

      Christine,

I rarely do this, but I will quote Matthew Henry's summary of Ezekiel 37.

The threatenings of the destruction of Judah and Jerusalem for their sins, which we had in the former part of this book, were not so terrible, but the promises of their restoration and deliverance for the glory of God, which we have here in the latter part of the book, are as comfortable; and as those were illustrated with many visions and similitudes, for the awakening of a holy fear, so are these, for the encouraging of a humble faith. God had assured them, in the foregoing chapter, that he would gather the house of Israel, even all of it, and would bring them out of their captivity, and return them to their own land; but there were two things that rendered this very unlikely:—I. That they were so dispersed among their enemies, so destitute of all helps and advantages which might favour or further their return, and so dispirited likewise in their own minds; upon all these accounts they are here, in vision, compared to a valley full of the dry bones of dead men, which should be brought together and raised to life. The vision of this we have (Ezek. 37:1-10) and the explication of it, with its application to the present case, Ezek. 37:11-14. II. That they were so divided among themselves, too much of the old enmity between Judah and Ephraim remaining even in their captivity. But, as to this, by a sign of two sticks made one in the hand of the prophet is foreshown the happy coalition that should be, at their return, between the two nations of Israel and Judah, Ezek. 37:15-22. In this there was a type of the uniting of Jews and Gentiles, Jews and Samaritans, in Christ and his church. And so the prophet slides into a prediction of the kingdom of Christ, which should be set up in the world with God’s tabernacle in it, and of the glories and graces of that kingdom, Ezek. 37:23-28.

Ezekiel was a prophet to Israel about the same time that Daniel was. Ezekiel's prophecies stood as a warning to Israel and their neighbors as well as a promise of restoration. Israel was in Babylonian captivity and God was telling Ezekiel that they were to be restored as a nation. Israel was restored in order that God's promise to Abraham, that the Messiah would come from his seed, would be fulfilled.

Again, in my opinion this is yet another attempt by Dispensationalists and Zionists to reinterpret old testament prophecies. Jesus said:

Luke 16:16 “The Law and the Prophets were proclaimed until John; since that time the gospel of the kingdom of God has been preached, and everyone is forcing his way into it.

Dispensationalists preach the prophets as is they had no fulfillment in Christ, which is very unfortunate. This prophecy sees its fruition with the pouring out of the holy spirit in verse 14.

Sir Tony Muse, let me share with you this article which proves that much of the prophecies of the Bible are yet to be fulfilled. That EZEKIEL 37 was fulfilled upon the establishment of Israel as a nation in May 14, 1948.

EZEKIEL 37: FULFILLMENT OF A PROPHECY

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the Lord and set me in the middle of a valley; it was full of bones. He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many bones on the floor of the valley, bones that were very dry. He asked me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” I said, “O Sovereign Lord, you alone know.” Then he said to me. “Prophecy to these bones and say to them,” Dry bones, hear the Word of the Lord! This is what the Sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath, enter you and you will come to life. I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin, I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the Lord.’”

So I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I was prophesying, There was a noise, a rattling sound, and the bones came together, bone to bone. I looked and tendons and flesh appeared on them and skin covered them, but there was no breath in them.

Then he said to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son of man and say to it. ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come from the four winds, O breath and breathe into these laid, That they may live!” So I prophesied as he commanded me, and breath entered them; they came to life and stood up on their feet – a vast army.

Then he said to me: “Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel. They say, ‘Our bones are dried up and our hope is gone, we are cut off.’ Therefore prophesy and say to them” ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: O my people I am going to open your graves and bring you up from them; I will bring you back to the land of Israel. Then you, my people will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves and bring you up from them. I will put my spirit in your and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I the Lord have spoken, and I have done it, declares the Lord.’”

      Ezekiel 37:1-14

On May 14, 1948 a great historical event occurred that traces its beginning to World War I. Against all human reasoning a nation that had been dead for nineteen hundred years suddenly came to life. On that day the world took a giant step closer to the end of the age, for Israel became a self-governing nation just as the prophets had foretold.

So many scriptures refer to the nationhood of Israel in the last days that godly writers as far back as the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries were bold enough to make such prediction. Naturally they were laughed at because the Turkish control of Palestine, made such as possibility highly unlikely.

That the national Israel exists today is nothing short of a miracle. After twenty-five hundred years without self-government and eighteen hundred years without a national home, she has every reason to be extinct. In all the annals of history, no other people deprived of their homeland has been able to maintain the identity and resurrect its country. (Tim La Haye, 1991).

In A.D. 70 the armies of Titus destroyed the city of Jerusalem and drove the Jews out of the Holy Land. For nineteen hundred years the only evidence that they would one day be gathered existed in the Word of God.

The story of Israel rebirth started way back 1917. By 1916 the war was going adversely for England. German machine guns and other advanced weapons were cutting down the flower of Europe’s manhood. England was desperate to find a rapid method of manufacturing TNT and a smokeless gun powder. A brilliant Jew named Chaim Weizmann invented such a formula that made the rapid production of these vital materials, thus changing the course of the war. In return, Lloyd George, representing the British government, told Dr. Weizmann to name his reward. Dr. Weizmann requested that Palestine be declared the national homeland for Jewish people. Consequently the Balfour Declaration was drawn up and signed on Nov. 2, 1917. This declaration favors the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine.

Then from the signing of this treaty, there is a gradual migration of the Jews to the Palestine. In the early days, the Jews purchased with Zionist funds 350,000 acres of land, primarily for agricultural purposes. That God’s blessing is upon this movement seems to be indicated by the amazing increase in rainfall throughout Palestine that anointed the soil of the Jews and produced crops of astounding proportions.

Britain revoked her 1917 treaty and in 1939, after such deliberation over the increasing conflicts between the Arabs and the Jews, she issued a white paper that favored Arabs independence and control of the area. After her failure to maintain peace between Arabs and the Jews following World War II, the British withdraw from Palestine, shortly thereafter the National Council and the General Zionist Council proclaimed from Tel Aviv the establishment of the SovereignState of Israel, David Ben Gurion was appointed Prime Minister. Both the United States and Russian recognized the new nation and after much debate, was accepted as a member nation into the United Nation.

The devil has tried his very best to prevent the resurrection of Israel as a nation. He used Adolf Hitler and its Third Reich in exterminating all of the Jewish race. The devil had tried his very best to prevent the fulfillment of Ezekiel 37. But the Word of God is always bound to came to pass, no forces in the universe, or earth, or hell can stop it from happening. God’s plan can never be thwarted.

What is the secret of Israel’s Immortality.

The answer to this question is found in the promises of God to Israel: “The Lord’s portion in His people; Jacob is the lot of His inheritance”. “I am the Lord, I change not, Therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.”

      (Deut 32:9, Malachi 3:6)

The phenomenon of Israel should convince doubting, individuals that God keeps his promises.

The fulfillment of the Bible Prophesy in Ezekiel 37, is a very powerful testimony that indeed the Bible is the infallible Word of God. It is a very strong testimony about the existence of the all knowing Sovereign Lord of the Universe, who is no other than the God of Israel, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

The fulfillment of Ezekiel 37 prophesy exhorts us believers, to maintain our confidence in the Word of God, to continue on trusting the Lord’s faithfulness to keep His promises to us, His precious children.

Even though the waiting may take for years or even decades, we should hold on firmly to faith. Remember, Israel waited for 1900 years to be resurrected again as a nation.

While waiting for an answer to our prayers, the Lord is working on our lives, building our character.

As one popular Pastor says, the Lord is more interested in building our character rather than giving us comfort.

      Christine,

Israel, as a nation, rejected Christ and the kingdom was taken from them.

Matthew 21:43 Therefore I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people, producing the fruit of it.

Jews can still accepted back into the tree, but as they stand now, they are not God's chosen people, we are.

I have come to the conclusion that many prophecies that Dispensationalists claim to b yet future were actually about either the first advent of Christ or received their fulfillment in the church. But yes, some are still to be ultimately realized. A prime example is Isaiah 66:8

“Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen such things? Can a land be born in one day? Can a nation be brought forth all at once? As soon as Zion travailed, she also brought forth her sons.

Verse 7 clearly places this prophecy in context of the male child and His kingdom and has nothing to do with 1948 and the State of Israel.

No, I don't claim affiliation with any church organization or denomination.

      I have

I believe Peter refers to the church, the bride of Christ in I Peter 2:9. But God's endtime plan for Israel will fully materialize during the Millenium, Israel remains God's chosen people. The dispensationalist's approach in interpreting Biblical prophecies for me is the best approach in interpreting Biblical prophecies. Much of prophecies are yet to be fulfilled.

      Hi Christine,

Please tell me who Peter was referring to in 1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 for you once were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

I am familiar with Dispensational teachings, I just don't agree with it.

Revelation 20:22 refers to the eternity, the new heaven and the new earth. Prior to the new heaven and new earth, the Millenium, a thousand year of Christ must happen first to fulfill God's promise to the nation Israel, His chosen people. The redeemed Israel and the remnant of the Tribulation Period will populate the Millenium. The Millenium is just a prelude to the eternal Kingdom of God. During this thousand-year reign of Christ, satan will be bound for a thousand years to stop him from deceiving the nation. The Millenium is a period of a thousand years under the rulership of one true Messiah, Jesus Christ. During His reign, there will be true peace and prosperity throughout the whole world.

      Hi Chrstine,

When you look at the surrounding context of Isaiah 9, verse 6 states:

      “For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us;

      And the government will rest on His shoulders;

And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,

      Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.”

Christ came into this world to bring peace.

Ephesians 2: 11 Therefore remember that formerly you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “Uncircumcision” by the so-called “Circumcision,” which is performed in the flesh by human hands— 12 remember that you were at that time separate from Christ, excluded from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. 13 But now in Christ Jesus you who formerly were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ. 14 For He Himself is our peace, who made both groups into one and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall, 15 by abolishing in His flesh the enmity, which is the Law of commandments contained in ordinances, so that in Himself He might make the two into one new man, thus establishing peace, 16 and might reconcile them both in one body to God through the cross, by it having put to death the enmity. 17 And He came and preached peace to you who were far away, and peace to those who were near; 18 for through Him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father. 19 So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, 20 having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, 21 in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, 22 in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.

As far as the “millennial reign of Christ”, I believe that this is a misunderstanding of this passage.

Revelation 20:4 Then I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. And I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand; and they came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

We, the body of Christ are the temple of God now. The old temple was but a shadow of the true temple. Besides, John saw no temple in the New Jerusalem.

Revelation 20: 22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.

      Revelation chapter 20 speaks of this coming Millenium, and the Book of Isaiah speaks much of the coming millenial reign of Jesus Christ on earth. Quoting Isaiah 2:2-4;

"In the last days the mountain of the Lord's temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. Many people will come and say,

"Come, let us go to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths."

The law will go out from Zion, the Word of the Lord from Jerusalem. He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many people. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore. Isaiah 2:2-4

During Jesus Christ 1000-year reign on earth there will be true peace. True and lasting peace will prevail throughout the land. Since the beginning of time, nations have been constantly involved with various wars, but during Christ millenial reign, all these wars will cease. All military exercises will come to an end. This millenial reign is just a prelude to God's eternal kingdom.

The church of Christ or the body consisting of all those who have been redeemed through the blood of Christ is a part of the Kingdom of God, together with the Old Testament saints and the redeemed Israel. Tony Muse may be referring to the spiritual kingdom, the kingdom in the heart of every person who surrendered himself to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. I believe in this spiritual kingdom, the kingdom in the heart, Jesus mentioned it in Luke 17: 21, "the kingdom is within you." I believe every true regenerate or true born again christian possesses this spiritual kingdom. This is the constant source of joy of a true believer in Christ.

But the Bible, the Word of God speaks also of the coming of the literal kingdom of God. Isaiah 9:7 speaks of the coming millenial reign of Jesus Christ, "Of the greatness of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom , establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from time on and forever. The zeal of the Lord Almighty will accomplish this."

After the Tribulation Period, Jesus Christ will come back again on earth to rule over it for a thousand year, this is known as the Millenium. This is the perfect government where true peace prosperity reign. This must happen to fulfill God's promise to the nation Israel. The Millenium is just a prelude to the eternal kingdom of God.

Some eschatologies and others believe that the kingdom of God will become a physical manifestation one day. Others say it’s a spiritual kingdom and that it is already here on earth. It is the power of God and Jesus working in the world today. It’s not in some building or place or church.

The Kingdom of God is not just the church. As God’s reign is over all things, the Kingdom isn’t just the church. Instead, the church is meant to be a way for others to see life under the Kingdom. The church is meant to “model” God’s rule with mercy and justice and submitting to God’s authority.

“The kingdom creates a realm, the kingdom creates a people, but the kingdom of God is not synonymous with its realm or its people,” John Piper says.

Instead, the church are the people who are preparing for the Kingdom of Heaven and showing others what that Kingdom will look like with God. Jesus tells us to prepare for the Kingdom by repentance (Matthew 4:17).

It seems Cristine is referring to the Kingdom of God as the second coming which isn’t exactly correct.

Call me silly, but I believe that the kingdom of God is nothing more than another term for the Church. In Daniel 2 the Stone that grew and filled the whole earth was the church, built on the Cornerstone, Christ. Jesus told Peter and the other disciples that even the gates of Hades would not prevail against His church.

Are we still awaiting the return of Christ? Absolutely! But the coming of His kingdom is not to be observed with signs and wonders, His kingdom dwells within the midst of us, now.

      Peace.

Fine, but warning them of judgement coming is different than making predictions of when it will come like within this generation which is what you have done. No one can honestly make such a pronouncement based on scripture and history shows how wrong such pronouncements have been.

The fact that you won’t concede that judgement may not come in this generation makes me wonder what other scriptures you are prone to misinterpret or create false doctrines of.

The prophet Jonah was commanded by God to go to Nineveh to command the people there to repent for judgment is coming to that city. The same with our time, judgment is coming to this world and as Christians I believe we have moral obligation to our fellowmen to warn them about the coming judgment which will happen during the Tribulation Period.

Well the point is cristine The basis of your article appears to be summed up in your own words:

“To be delivered from the rule and power of the Antichrist, and be part of the “Harpazo,” or be among those who will be taken out of this world before the coming of the seven-year Tribulation, repent of your sin and receive Christ as your Savior and Lord.”

The reason to “...repent of your sin and receive Christ as your Savior and Lord.” is not to avoid the tribulation!

The only reason to seek and acquire salvation is to be forgiven of God and in so doing to gain eternity with him, your Father and creator. To suggest any other reason (least of which an unreasoned opinion) to the lost is inviting disillusionment and disappointment.

Opinions have nothing to do with it. I believe you are well intentioned with this article but your resistance to consider anything that differs from your opinion or to dismiss the facts as merely my opinion and to glom onto your opinion as if it was fact is troubling to me.

Nothing either of you have said indicates that the Lord can’t tarry for many more years beyond “this” generation (although I hope not) and I find it really odd cristine that you would cite a long dead scientist’s prediction of over 300 years into the future beyond his death as something to put stock in beyond only what scripture says. That is so ridiculous I wonder if it is even true he made such a prediction. And it demonstrates to what lengths a christian may go to try to rationalize their interpretation of the Bible instead of admitting they could be wrong. I don’t see Newton’s name among the prophets of the Bible.

I believe the endtimes are upon us, Australia and California are now experiencing more severe wildfires than before according to the news, and scientists warn could worsen further as years pass by. Even the great scientist Sir Isaac Newton believed that the earth will be inhabitable by human past 2060 if the Lord Jesus will still tarry further for much longer years. A great damage has been done to the earth brought about by man's technology and industrialization. That is the great price to pay by man's modern civilization.

There are impending great wars to occur anytime in the world, the conflict in the South China Sea could escalate further and may trigger World War III, the war in Syria and Northern Israel could also be a major trigger in creating a world war. There is also a conflict between India and Pakistan, China and Taiwan,China and Hongkong, civil unrest in Venezuela, there are also wars in Africa. Violence and crimes have also escalated to a staggering height. Crimes are everywhere in the world, we are indeed living in what the BIble called as the "Perilous times" or the "Noah Days." The Lord says in Matthew chapter 24: 37, "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark , and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away . That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man." That is an exact description

of the times we are living in, the "business as usual" mindset. With this passage, the Lord gives a hint that we are indeed in the season of His return.

It is about time to be really serious about eternity. The King is coming!!! We have to surrender our lives to His Lordship. Your theological persuasion does not matter whether you are Pre-Trib,Mid-Trib or Post-Trib, the thing that matters most is that your willingness to surrender everything to the Lordship of Christ , even your own life. We must be willing to live and die for Him.

"but how long thAt end will last? That’s anybody’s guess and could be a thousand years from now. No one knows."

What we see right now is chaos, just as Cristine pointed out. The chaos is not specific to one region or continent, but is world wide with wars and rumors of wars, governments in turmoil, natural disasters affecting many, immorality becoming rampant, and persecution of Christians on the rise (see Africa and the Middle East), and it's bubbling under here in America. Never before has there been a time like this for the ENTIRE world - and that's what Christ was talking about in Mathew.

This is the environment Satan has been trying to create for thousands of years. With the entire world in chaos (and this chaos will become intense) Satan will usher his "Christ" to the forefront for the world to embrace.

So you've got to ask yourself a question: Why did Christ tell me what the birth pangs would look like if no one would know the day of Christ's return? Because, Christ said to watch for the season. What is a season? In scripture, it's a short period of time. And Christ knew it was important for us to know the season of his return, because we're going to go through the GT before he returns, and he doesn't want us to be caught off guard by THAT - if we are, we'll fall away as he says in Mathew 24.

I'm consistently amazed that so many Christians, when warned that the events of the end of the age are unfolding, now, like to bury their heads. You know why they like to T? Because many of us are living with one foot in the Kingdom and one foot in the world - we try to live for all of the good things of life and serve Christ at the same time. So we're attached to the pursuits of the world, and that's a dangerous place to be, especially so at the end of the age.

Stop denying the truth about what you're seeing. It's in front of your face.

Cristine, To say “This generation” has to refer To the generation living at the time of the restoration of Israel is a stretch.

The meaning of the Greek word “generation” is genea. This word means more than just “generation.” It has the idea of “birth, descent, children and race”. It was even used to refer to the end times. It is best to understand Jesus’ expression to mean “this race,” “this people,” or “this period of time.” Here is an example from Luke 16:8 (word is in bold),

And his master praised the unrighteous steward because he had acted shrewdly; for the sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light. (NASB) Luke 16:8

Any other sense of the word is meaningless in the context of Jesus’ message. If we say “this generation” refers to those alive during Jesus’ first coming, then the destruction of Jerusalem had to also be His second coming, and the judgment of the wicked and the righteous. That is the end of everything! Yet, we are still here.

A different inclusion from yours Cristine is that the phrase “this generation” found in Matthew 24:34 refers to “this race,” “this people” or “this period of time.”

Based on the prophesies that’s have been fulfilled Hxprof you are correct, we are in the end of the age, but how long thAt end will last? That’s anybody’s guess and could be a thousand years from now. No one knows.

You're correct that we're in the end of the age, right now. The re-founding of Israel is a huge landmark. Christ mentioned "earthquakes and famines in various places". Though I'm not sure that there are 'more' earthquakes, storms and wildfires than there used to be, because people occupy more space than ever, people are impacted more frequently by these things - that seems to be what Christ was saying in Mathew 24.

I'd only add that we, Christians, need to be prepared to go through the Great Tribulation. We're not getting out early, but we're to be prepared to endure from the birth pangs straight through the end when Christ takes us just before the wrath of God pummels the earth.

Despite what you may believe Cristine you have to admit your interpretations of scripture could be wrong and there is no reason the prophecies of future events couldn’t be meant to occur far off in the future. There is no scripture that tells us when the end time will occur, to the contrary the Bible clearly states no man can know so odds are nothing in the Bible will tell you anything other than prophecies that must be filled first have been filled. To count your blessings upon the rapture is vanity, as many people throughout history have been disappointed by doing so trying to “Biblically” predict it.

Scientists analyzed the historical record of earthquakes greater than 8.0 in magnitude and concluded that the global frequency of large earthquakes is no higher today than it has been in the past!

There are a number of reasons why it might seem as if we are experiencing more earthquakes.

      1. Earthquakes in populated places are far more noticed than the many that occur in remote regions, so when, by chance, a run of earthquakes hit population centres, it appears that the number of events has increased. Also, there are more people at risk. Population increases mean there are more people than ever in earthquake prone regions. So although the number of earthquakes remains the same the impact increases.

      2. Earthquake clustering. Although long term averages are fairly constant, in any quasi-random process, you get clustering in time. Increases and decreases in seismicity rates are a natural part of this. People notice the clusters; they don't notice the gaps in between. They also forget the previous cluster!

      3. Global communication. Vast improvements in global communications mean we have near instant pictures of devastating earthquakes from all around the world. This means more people are aware of earthquakes and their impact.

I am aquatinted with scientists who have researched earthquakes extensively having made amazing discoveries and been assured by them that earthquake activity is absolutely not increasing and compared to historical evidence if anything is decreasing.

The fig tree spoken by Jesus in Matthew 24:32, "Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. Even so, when you see all these things, you know that it is near, right at the door." I believe refers to the nation Israel. Fig tree here represents Israel. Our generation has witnessed not only the rebirth but the blossoming or flourishing of Israel.

Tsadjatko, I don't believe that we have fewer earthquakes in our time than the earlier generation. In fact, the world is experiencing considerably strong earthquakes almost daily in our time. In the Philippines alone, we have experienced three major earthquakes last month in a span of only two weeks.

No one can really know the exact day nor the hour of the actual occurrence of the rapture, but we can know the season. The bible gave many hints that we can know the season. I believe

we are in the season. And we Christians are admonished by the Lord Jesus to watch and pray as it is written in Matthew 24:42 "Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come." For me it is better for a Christian to watch and pray so that he will constantly guard his heart from all forms of ungodliness, worldliness and wickedness. A christian who watches is more careful about his ways than the one who does not watch.

If you truly believe in the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ, you must believe the coming of the "Harpazo" or "Rapture." The bible is very clear about it as it is written in I Thesssalonians Chapter 4:16-17, "For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air." If you truly believe that the Bible is the Word of God, you must believe this passage which depicts clearly the Rapture or "Harpazo" in Greek. I believe, a true believer of the Lord Jesus Christ believes in the "Harpazo."

      ?

I don’t know anyone who is banking on being saved by the rapture.

Whether you believe there will be a rapture or not, it has no place in salvation which is bestowed upon anyone who is saved by faith in Jesus Christ and not works. So why should anyone be helped By God because they believe a rapture will occur if it doesn’t? Whether it occurs or not the idea of it has nothing to do with Being saved by your faith in Jesus. If you have that He says no man can pluck you out of His hand, so the rapture is irrelevant.

God help those that will be shocked when here is no Rapture and they go nowhere. then they will see too late that it is just a catholic lie promoted by the apostate fake church system. No one leaves the earth, all reappear at judgment to be judged then those who are real disciples of the real Christ will inherit the earth and then the new earth.. ALL others are destroyed in the lake of fire. Read the scriptures. You cannot trust the apostate church system, they follow doctrines of man and not the doctrines of Christ. Thats why they have thousands of denominations (divisions) when the church of Jesus Christ HAS NONE and can never have any. The judgment is the pouring out of God's wrath on all iniquity to remove ALL unrighteous from the earth as there can be none in the eternal kingdom of God.

The year that Israel was founded doesn’t have anything to do with His reference to “this generation” does it? It is not mentioned in Mathew 24 and then this phrase “All these are the beginning of birth pains.“ He mentions these are the beginning of the end but before that he says “

”You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.”

We have had wars and rumors of wars from the time Jesus spoke that. This is not a sign of the end times being near as he says “Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.”

Also there are fewer earthquakes today than in the past. They have been declining over time.

So my point is, no one knows the time of the end so why speculate?

Yes Tsadjatko, things have gotten much worse today than they were 2000 years ago. I believe it will not take another 2000 years for the "Rapture" to happen. As I see what is happening around the globe, speaking of the "global warming" and calamities, the world might not be inhabitable by human past the year 2050. The Lord Jesus spoke about a generation that will witness all these end time events, that generation, the fig tree generation, the one that has witnessed the rebirth of the nation Israel. We are that generation whom the Lord Jesus addressed in Matthew 24: 34 "Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened." How long does a generation last? A generation may last from 70 to 100. Seventy years have already passed since 1948, the year that the nation Israel was reestablished in their land. I believe the Church waiting for the Bridegroom will soon be over. The end times are really upon us.

      AMEN!

Abide by your article and you will avoid the trial and tribulations of the end time.

      But, although what you say,

“The stage is now set for the arrival of the lawless one, the man of perdition, the “Antichrist.” We are living in a very chaotic world, a world filled with distresses. Prior to this, at any moment, the “Harpazo” or the “Rapture,” or the snatching away of the true believers in Christ is about to happen”

is true, there is nothing (that I know of) that tells us that it couldn’t be another 2000 years before the rapture occurs and the antichrist appears and Matthew 4:17, “Repent for the kingdom of God has come near.” is fulfilled. Things could get much worse than they are now as they have gotten much worse than they were when that was said 2000 years ago!
