The Institutional Church Position of Pastor is Antichrist

Updated on November 24, 2017

PlanksandNails' goal is to be a catalyst in encouraging the followers of Christ to pursue Biblical truth for themselves.

Today, there is a position in the institutional church system called, ‘Pastor.’ This position is a man-driven office where having the title is quite different than having a spiritual gift according to Scripture. Those who do not see the counterfeit position for what it is will be deceived into this satanic tool that is meant to lure the masses away from focusing on Christ. The institutional church Pastor is cloaked in religious gloss that gives lip service to the term ‘pastor’ found in Scripture; however, in truth has little to no correlation to the gift given by the Holy Spirit.

He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds [pastors] and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, to the work of serving, to the building up of the body of Christ – Ephesians 4:11-12

You will find nowhere in these verses where the role of a pastor is above the other ministry gifts, nor is it a position of headship over the followers of Christ. What is noteworthy is that the term ‘pastor’ is only mentioned once in this passage in all of the New Testament, yet the religious system has given it the greatest importance.

A Gift from the Devil

Those in the institutional church system have been bewitched into being manipulated by someone in the office of a Pastor who is used by Satan to influence, control and manipulate the masses. Those who have taken on the position of Pastor are deceived individuals who do not understand the satanic origin of their office. They have been indoctrinated that their role is in reference to Ephesians, but it is not.

The institutional office of the Pastor and those that patronize them are reaping the rotten fruit of partaking of something that was never instituted by God. There is no lone man or woman who has a right to take the reins that is only meant for Christ.

Those who are willing and ready to be prepared for the return of Christ must come out of the corrupt man-driven church system that is steeped in spiritual adultery.

Those who are in the modern church system will often say that their Pastor is a gift from God, but in actuality that person is being used by the devil to convert people into church members partaking of an antichrist agenda.

A Maligned Pattern

Most have chosen to follow elite religious men instead of Christ in a pattern that God never established. They believe that there are only a select elect group of individuals who claim to have the right to have authority over their brethren by the execution of their own wills. These professional clergy do not point to Christ, but stifle an environment of union and fellowship where each can express their own gifting in unity of a brotherhood. They put the focus on themselves as being the mediators between God and man.

Paul begged his brethren to have unity among themselves in fellowship with one another.

I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beg you to walk worthily of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and humility, with patience, bearing with one another in love; being eager to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. – Ephesians 4:1-3

Christ also prayed for unity.

Not for these only do I pray, but for those also who believe in me through their word, that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be one in us; that the world may believe that you sent me. – John 17:20-21

God has set a divine pattern that was conveyed in Scripture. Yet, religious men have tampered and violated His ways by elevating a man who is not Christ above all others. Satan has used this elevated position in the institutional church to usurp the role of Christ among believers.

The biblical gift of a pastor is not a lone exalted office that muzzles all other gifts among the brethren.

You may say that you have a ‘Pastoral Team' in your church. If you think about it, if that is what it is called, then obviously it us under the thumb of the Pastor. The name gives it away.

The institution Pastor will become a more pompous individual once their position is challenged for its authenticity when scrutinizing it based on Kingdom principles. Most church members will have a hard time opposing people who are deferred excessively as ‘Gods anointed’ with revered titles.

Following a 'Big Hat'

The true followers of Christ will never let another man or woman have control over their spiritual lives. They are impartial and independent in serving God directly through Kingdom principles by submitting themselves to their brothers and sisters in the role of a servant. Many have a hard time giving up control of the body of Christ to the unseen Head. They find it easier to follow the satanic pattern of following after a religious ‘big hat’ where all things revolve.

It’s time to listen to the voice of the Good Shepherd and return to the pattern that he has implemented. To bend the will of God for man-made tradition is dangerous as the time of Judgement approaches.

If you are being directed by an institutional Pastor, you are not being led by the Holy Spirit. We are to follow Christ. All the brethren who claim to follow Christ have an equal stake and responsibility to come under the guidance of God’s Holy Spirit in obedience to biblical pattern.

Many are sitting passively in pews being led astray by pied pipers who are doing things in the name of Christ, but have sidelined the commands of God. Many are embroiled in the spiritual bondage of the modern church system that gives lip service to the way of Christ, but in reality, honours their own man-made traditions and templates above the word of God. They are liars and deceivers.

Are you ready to deny and refuse anyone who calls themselves by the title of Pastor who desires to be the ‘big boss’ of the congregation?

This dominant individual is not of God and will never be able to accomplish God’s will as they have become lords, not servants.

The spiritual feeding of the body of Christ is not given to one man, but is available to all the brethren according to the capacity of their spiritual gifts. Our gifts have nothing to do with assisting someone with a title called, ‘Pastor.’

And in vain do they worship me, teaching as doctrine rules made by men.'" – Matthew 15:9

Sitting in the Seat of Christ

The functions of the brethren are a team effort where everyone can utilize their unique calling to serve one another. There is no other way the gifts of the Holy Spirit can be expressed in an inter-dependent manner. This is the only way to discern and to execute the will of God in the body of Christ. There is absolutely no room for the elevation of man over others because everyone has an equal stake and responsibility in mutual submission to one another under the direction of the Good Shepherd in service to the Kingdom of God.

Are you part of a religious system that is of man’s own invention and inspired of the devil?

The Pastor-leadership structure of the institutional church is the key component of the counterfeit antichrist religion called ‘Christianity’ today that has thoroughly abandoned biblical doctrine for many twisted maligned forms of spirituality.

For those who truly love the way of Christ will have no associations to a system that is built on the foundation of sinking sand that hinders all those who partake of her from seeing the fullness of God’s power and glory. The path of rebellion will ultimately bring dire consequences.

The body of Christ has no human head or leader that we can see on earth at this point because it is divinely controlled from heaven. The spiritual Head of the ekklesia is Christ himself. This is what most fail to understand and many are in a dire need of meditating on this point until it really sinks in. No one will be able to understand the role and position of men and women that has been assigned by God under the Good Shepherd until they grasp the truth. Anyone who makes themselves the lord of the sheepfold whether knowingly or not is sitting on the seat that is reserved only for Christ. This is the definition of an antichrist who is a complete aberration of God’s plan through Christ for His people.

But don't you be called 'Rabbi,' for one is your teacher, the Christ, and all of you are brothers. – Matthew 23:8

The ekklesia of Christ are a brotherhood that makes only Christ the pre-eminent figure among their assembly

Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble." – 1 Peter 5:5

But he who is greatest among you will be your servant. Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted. – Matthew 23:11-12

When a single man, or a group of select people become pre-eminent in an assembly, there is a spiritual shift that moves away from Kingdom principles. From that moment people’s weaknesses can be exploited for devious purposes.

I wrote to the assembly, but Diotrephes, who loves to be first among them, doesn't accept what we say. – 3 John 1:9

It is a plain fact that all Pastors in the institutional church system are the dominant voices among the people. Today, if you confront them about it, they will shun you from their congregation by any means necessary because the dominant concept in their religious worlds are about themselves and their will in their interactions with other people.

For those who do not conform to man-made religious templates, Christ is at the forefront, middle and the back where there is no room for the will of man because everything points to the Father through His Son. There will be either Christ stamped upon the assembly or the mark of the Pastor.

Many have difficulty understanding the pre-eminence of Christ among the brethren because they do not understand submission to the Gospel message and how it applies to Kingdom principles. Practicing humility is a rarity to be found in the institutional church system because the model they mandate is based on hierarchy and the pattern of the world where leadership evolves around professional men.

Jesus summoned them, and said to them, "You know that they who are recognized as rulers over the nations lord it over them, and their great ones exercise authority over them. But it shall not be so among you, but whoever wants to become great among you shall be your servant. Whoever of you wants to become first among you, shall be bondservant of all. For the Son of Man also came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." – Mark 10:42-45

Even all the way back in the Old Testament, the rebellious children of Israel desired to have a king at the helm. Today, the Pastors are the kings of the pulpits.

Yahweh said to Samuel, "Listen to the voice of the people in all that they tell you; for they have not rejected you, but they have rejected me, that I should not be king over them. -1 Samuel 8:7

Are You Willing to Call it for What it is?

Many need a wake up call as the have been beguiled by the church system and the ways of the world. They will perish with the world if they do not repent and follow the pattern of Christ. Christ is not coming for rebellious goats, but for his humble flock who love and honour his ways.

God does not require any believer to be tied to the institutional church system because it is antichrist to the core. Some may react to this broad-brush stroke because they have invested a great deal in their tare religion. It is not too late to repent and seek first the Kingdom of God.

Having an institutional Pastor at the helm is contrary to the pattern of Christ and the apostles. The antichrist pattern puts precedence on human tradition rather than the word of God. It appeals to the worldly pattern of leadership rather than a Kingdom one. Therefore, if you partake of the modern church system, you are in rebellion against God by following the way of the world instead of Christ.

It is time to repent and abandon the system that has not been built upon Kingdom principles. Partaking in man’s rebellion is rebelling yourself. In the peril of these last days, many have turned their back on Christ for a counterfeit of their own making.

Are you willing to separate from the crowd and allow the Holy Spirit to lead to the truth?

To follow the religious crowds today is to perish with the crowds.

Our spiritual destiny hinges in abiding in the obedience to the divine directives set forth by Christ. Following after and promoting the traditions of man is charting your own way based on man’s ideologies that abandons God’s patterns.

Are you willing to count the cost and follow Christ instead of an institutional Pastor?

I heard another voice from heaven, saying, "Come out of her, my people, that you have no participation in her sins, and that you don't receive of her plagues – Revelation 18:4

Do you have an institutional Pastor that you focus on each week in the church system?

      JC Obrien,

You are right that we are not to judge the souls. However, we can judge the behaviours according to the standard of New Testament doctrine of those who claim to follow Christ. Many religions have done much good in the world. The difference with the ministry of Christ is that his main focus was not about the temporal needs of this world, but to meet the eternal needs of others.

In regards to your question, I have heard of the Quakers and I am somewhat familiar with them, but haven't really studied up on all of their doctrinal beliefs.

What many are too blind to see today is that the office of the Pastor is very similar to the title of High Priest of the priesthood that no longer exists. The people support Pastors who have attempted to usurp the role of High Priest that belongs to Christ alone. Christ is both the offering and High Priest, yet the church system in practice supports a Pastor who stands in a temple built with man’s hands who mimics the authority and function of the Christ.

The modern Pastor is a counterfeit of the High Priest, and sadly what is called 'church' is the counterfeit of the temples of the Holy Spirit. Christ has been given authority from his Father to make offerings on our behalf. He became the perfect unblemished sacrifice as payment for our sins. He is the High Priest, Prince of Peace, our King, Head and Ruler. There is absolutely no need to set up a person on earth as High Priest.

Unfortunately, one day many will stand before Christ and realize the dire consequences of their error of following after a High Priest of their own making.

Yes, God loves all people; however, those who take the place of Christ are antichrist.

      KingdomCome,

The problem with the word 'Pastor' within the sphere of Christianity is that it is contradictory to the proper usage in Scripture.

When someone asks, 'Who is you pastor?' our immediate should be, 'Christ.' Obviously this response is not what a church member would expect to hear because they are conditioned to give precedence to someone other than Christ.

      Thanks for the comment.

      God Bless.

Interesting article and I tend to agree, but recognize various churches and their congregants have also done much good in the world. We should not judge the souls of individuals. Are you familiar with Quakerism?

      Perfect. Perfect

""Jesus said a third time, "Simon, son of John, do you love me?" Peter was distressed that Jesus asked him a third time, "Do you love me?" and said, "Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you." Jesus replied, "Feed my sheep.""

If I am not busy otherwise

When I am not busy otherwise,

then I pray -- even for those pastors .

(( Maybe God loves them too))
