The Life of God In You
The Full Life : Living the Life of God
>
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy ; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”
>
John 10:10
>
What is meant by having life to the full ? What does Jesus mean when he spoke of having a full life ?
>
Does it mean having material abundance ? Prosperous life ? Many religious denominations quote this passage frequently when promoting Christianity. Most of the time referring to it as material abundance.
>
But does really Jesus mean that way ?
>
>
Jesus never lived in affluence. He lived in utter simplicity not even owning a place where to lay his head, quoting Jesus as saying : “Foxes have holes, birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.”
>
I believe with all my heart it is not about material prosperity. The “full life” means being rich with the “life of God” in you. What is meant by the life of God ?
>
The “life of God” is imparted to the believer at the moment of his spiritual birth. The moment that he surrendered his life to Christ, repented from all his sins and accepted completely Christ as personal savior and Lord without reservation, a person got born again and thus had experienced spiritual rebirth. At that moment, such person received the “New Life”, the life of God. It is called the “life of God”, because once you receive it, you will become partaker of God’s holiness. You will begin to crave for the life in heaven. Your earthly desires will start to fade and wax. You will become heavenly minded. You will consider all worldly things as insignificant for they have no value in heaven. You will stop craving for material things. It will no longer be the driving force in your life. You will learn to be contented in whatever situation you have in life. All your envies and hatred will be gone. All your selfish and wordly ambitions and all your covetousness will be gone. You will desire only God for all His glory. There is a very great change that happened inside your heart . Love will be born into your heart for all the people around you. You will learn to forgive and you will renounce all your hatred.

In living for all our wordly ambitions, we are alienated from the “life of God.” The “life of God” in us gives us a very great peace and joy in our heart. something beyond this world could give. The “life of God” in us is the resurrection life of Christ in our body. This is one of the strongest evidence that we belong to the Kingdom of God, that we are indeed the children of God, moving on heavenward.
