The Pandemic of Dumb Sheep

The foolishness continues

  • There is a pandemic within the body of Christ that must be addressed. It’s is the fact that there are so many dumb sheep. This is not to judge anyone but to challenge believers to grow beyond falling for false doctrine. This is an emergency situation and is pretty devastating. I wrote a post on Facebook a few days ago, regarding the fact that the preachers who were promising blessings in 20/20 have been silent during the pandemic because it exposed their lies.. I tagged a friend in the post and one of her friends responded. This man began by emphasizing that he was a pastor and bragged that he was prospering during the pandemic. He said he had added $1,000 monthly to his household and went on to ask me to contact him so I could prosper too.

Anyone who knows me realizes those are fighting words. This really got next to me because it revealed several harsh truths. 1.The foolishness of the prosperity lies are indeed continuing in spite of current events. 2. Some preachers are more concerned with lining their pockets with money than leading souls to salvation. 3. There are still dumb sheep who are gullible and believe the lies.People are hurting right now who have lost jobs and businesses. Families are devastated because loved ones have died. Just because this pastor is still earning money does not indicate that he can promise the same to anyone else. Each of us are in different situations and our income has nothing to do with listening to a preacher.

Black sheep are especially foolish

This may sound harsh but many African Americans have a plantation mentality when it comes to their pastors. We are called to respect the men and women who are in ministry but never to have blind loyalty to false doctrine. They respond to the pastor as if he is the master and often will not listen to reasoning. In spite of the downfall of Jim and Tammy Baker and their $12,000 dog house and the exposure of Reverend Ike, preachers continue to preach the false message that Christ wants us rich. The worst part is the sheep continue to fall for the con games, especially in African American churches. Benny Hinn and Joyce Meyer have become millionaires by selling their wares to the body of Christ. Along the way they promised prosperity to those who gave to their ministries, Both have since admitted that they were teaching a false gospel. Others like Creflo Dollar have also made millions from church folk and are now toning down the message a little by saying that prosperity is not just money. All of these people have made their fortunes from the offerings sent to them and now want to act like all is well. Where is the outcry from the sheep of fraud? Why are not more Christians angry that they were hoodwinked? Why does the black church protect these preachers who have strayed from the simple gospel of Jesus? Paula White has pastored at predominately black churches and has made a living by using holidays to gain money. She asks for special , most recently $91.00. She claims that if you send her this amount of money that Psalm 91 will protect you from the coronavirus. It's time African American Christians wake up to the foolishness and walk away from it.

Don't be a sucker

On older cartoons, whenever one character gets the better of another, the one who has been made a fool of will have the word sucker on his face. Most people would be afraid to play games with the sheep of the living God and Jesus Christ His Son, but these money pimps are so far into their game they don't even seem to fear God Almighty. In Matthew 10:16 Jesus said the following to His disciples: Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.

In Matthew 7:15-16 Jesus says:

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

In other words, don't be a sucker. PT Barnum said there is a sucker born every minute and he did not lie.For everyone who walks away from lying preachers and fake ministries, there seems to be someone new to come along. If this sounds harsh, it is meant to. The Lord is not please with His sheep being fooled, espefcially when He has given His word as a guide.

Lambs led to the slaughter

At some point, everyone who has been in a prosperity teaching church should take an analysis of their situation. If you have been tithing, giving offerings and sowing seeds for decades, but have no more money than what you earned through your paycheck, this should bother you. If you see that you are laying money at the altar and giving in special offerings and no one in the church is living exceeding abundantly and above except your first family you need to wake up. If you are hearing every week that your due season is on the way, but in 20 years your pastor has not waited for one thing, you are a lamb who has been led to the slaughter. You may have listened to the rhetoric for so long that you cannot get out. I urge you to break free today and realize that your senses and the Holy Spirit are revealing truth. It's a scam and is off the mark of what the true gospel is. People will die and go to hell because the church leaders are teaching prosperity instead of soul salvation. Repent to the Lord, admit you have been a dumb sheep then steer clear of the foolishness. Common sense along with the prompting of His spirit will lead in the right direction. I once was a dumb sheep and now it’s my desire to help others.

Receive Christ today

If you have never accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you can do it right now. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you, and read His word. Romans 10: 9-10 says That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Ask Him to fill you with His Holy Spirit and to lead you to the right people or fellowship so you can grow in Him. and know that heaven will be your eternal home.
