The Prayer of Faith
But without faith, it is impossible to please him, for he that cometh to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:6
...and Shall Not Doubt in His Heart
"For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive [them], and ye shall have [them]." Mark 11:23-24
Of the nine types of prayer, the prayer of faith is the prayer which grabs hold of the promises of God as revealed in the Word of God. The prayer of Faith takes hold of the promises of God and doesn't let go until the promise is manifested.
Standing on God's Word
The Word of God is filled with promises that are available to every believer. There are promises of eternal life, peace, health, prosperity, and much more. With the promises there will also come persecutions, but, the promises are sure, and they will endure.
The way that we receive the promises of God is through the prayer of faith. The prayer of faith simply says, " If God said it, I believe it and I receive it as mine." It further says, "No matter what comes my way to show me otherwise, I will believe the Word and I will stand on what God has said."
Of the nine types of prayer, the Prayer of Faith is the prayer that must be most attended to. What I mean by this is, once the Prayer of Faith has been prayed, the one who prayed it must align their thinking, and, their confession up with that prayer.
Death and Life are in The Power of Your Tongue!!!
There is no way of getting around it... the things that you say out of your mouth are the things that you really believe in your heart. It is those things that you will have come to pass in your life.
What Does That Mean?
It means that you cannot pray the Prayer of Faith about a situation and then confess the opposite of your prayer out of your mouth.
Example: Say you are believing for healing in your body, so, you pray a prayer of faith for your healing based the promise of healing in Isaiah 53:5, which says...
But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our
iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes
we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
After you pray this prayer of faith, you cannot turn around and complain about how sick you are. You have to say what your prayer says and you have to think it as well. Otherwise, you negate your prayer. You actually cancel it out. You have got to stay consistent with your prayer, confession and thinking.
Why is it hard to walk by Faith?
It really isn't hard to walk by faith. It is hard to get up off of the couch and start, but, once you start, it becomes eaiser and eaiser. It becomes a way of life. Many say they have tried it but it didn't work for them. I know people who blast Word of Faith ministers as false preachers and evil ministers.
What they are really saying is that they tried to walk by faith, but when the bottom line hit, when it was "do or die" time, they gave up and went with the way of their natural assurances. Others who may have been hoping it would work, and, languishing in fear, found that fear cancels faith out, every time.
To walk by faith, one must have a bottom line tenacity that says, "If I die believing God, then just bury me in my good suit". Without this type of attitude, faith will be reduced to dust, no more usable than cremation ashes.
Early in my married life I had a miscarriage. The doctors told my husband and I that my uterus had fibroid tumors. They said these tumors would not get better, and that I could never have a baby.
Well, there is a promise in the Word of God that says, "Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, Deuteronomy 28:4 There is another promise which says,"...neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field,... Malachi 3:11 And yet another which says, " Lo, children [are] an heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward. Psalms 127:3
My husband and I took these promises as being available for us. So, we prayed the prayer of faith and stood on the Word of God. We confessed the promise, we thought the promise, we believed the promise. We began our fight through the doubt, the circumstances and the doctors report.
The Fight was On....
Faith's Confession brings Possession...
Everyday in faith, I confessed this Word of God:
"Father, I thank you that your Word says by Jesus stripes I am healed. I thank you that when Jesus died on the cross, the power of these fibroids died with Him. I thank you, that when He rose from the dead, my divine healing rose with Him. I thank you, that you have given me authority to speak to these fibroids and command them to dry up, and, leave my body. And, I thank you that your Word says, children are your reward.
Therefore I speak to the fibroids in my body and command you to dry up, and leave my body, leaving my body able to bear children in the name of Jesus ."
God's Word Cannot Fail
Over time, I began to see pieces of the fibroids exit my body. I kept my confession strong. I stayed in forgiveness, and worshipped God.
Exactly 3 months later, I was pregnant again and this time went to full term delivering a 6lb 8oz, 21 inch long, healthy bouncing boy child.
Standing on the Word of God works. God's Word cannot fail. What we deem as failure is not on God's behalf. We should be encouraged to gain a working understanding of how His Word works and what His will is for our lives.
Children of God , please do not get cocky and think you can pray the Prayer of Faith indiscriminately. God's laws, and will for our lives plays an important part in what we ask for when we pray the Prayer of Faith.
We don't have the right to claim other people's husbands or wives, personal possessions or their houses and lands. We don't use our faith for evil, or destruction, or for the downfall of others. That is witchcraft, plain and simple. We also don't use our faith to heep treasures or riches upon ourselves just for the pleasure of being rich, that is covetousness.
As children of God, we develop are to develop our relationship with God as the first priority of our lives. After that, we will have confidence that those things we desire, are in His will for our lives. We can therefore pray the Prayer of Faith for things that make our life on earth a testimony of His goodness, and favor. We should also pray for those things that will make us a blessing to others.
Just for You
There is a promise in the Word of God to fit every situation in life. Examine your situation, not your wife's situation, or your husbands situation, or your children's situation or anyone's situation other than your situation. What do you need God to do?
Search the Word of God and find His promise in that area. Pray the Prayer of Faith and believe God. Remind the situation that God has made a provision for you, and you are claiming that provision now. Keep your confession strong. Be steadfast, unmovable always abounding in the work of the Lord. Forgive your enemies, forgive yourself, worship and serve God. Your situation will turn around.
