The Promise Fulfilled~ Part Seventeen ~

Updated on July 22, 2016

The Ending to "The Promise Fulfilled"

Another thing that gave me a lot of heartache was the sense of feeling as if I were isolated from the rest of the human race, even from my own family. But when the time arrived in my youth that I became a member of the sex, drugs and alcohol society? I finally felt as if I belonged somewhere and to somebody else. I felt “a part OF”...... understood and not so alone or lonely anymore. They became my “family” instead of my real family because they were like me and I was like them. I suppose that is how gangs recruit members. People like me, I mean, who had this sense of not being enough or of feeling as if they were alone in the world for one reason or the other.

Satan loves to use this against people. I suppose one would call it a spirit of rejection because that is how I felt, rejected. I had no real reason to feel that way, looking back. It was just a tool through which Satan gained a stronghold in my life and emotions very early on.

Of all the things which I remembered that brought on an innate sense of feeling this great chasm of emptiness inside of my heart? It is today well worth everything that I ever went through because today I know that the Lord loves and knows me, and I know and love Him in return.

I walk in the personal knowledge, because of God's mercy, of how very blessed I am most every day today because of the very fact that I belong to Jesus and Jesus is in return, mine. Just as He can be yours too, if you’ll seek Him through His Word and allow Him to reveal Himself to you there, just like He did with me.

Jesus proclaimed why He came in the book of Luke:

"The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord "{Luke 4:18-19}

The deliverance to the captives He is talking about is anyone who is held captive by any type of sin in their lives. Drug addiction was certainly a sin in my life for there exists no doubt that I was an addict who was addicted to substances that literally held me a virtual prisoner.

Please don’t do yourself a disservice and say “Well, maybe tomorrow for I am not ready today. I have some more “fun” stuff I want to do first." Thing is, my beloved friend and fellow addict and sufferer? You may not have tomorrow to make that the day in which you will choose to make the most important decision of all your life and your eternity.

There is a verse in the Bible in which Jesus says to the Pharisees who sent officers to arrest Him before it was His time::

The Pharisees heard the crowd muttering these things about Him, and the chief priests and the Pharisees sent officers to seize Him. Therefore Jesus said, “For a little while longer I am with you, then I go to Him who sent Me. You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come.”

This verse contains a message not only for the officers whom the Pharisees had sent to arrest Him but also to the people there in general, and also for all unbelievers of any time.

There can come a day when it is eternally too late for a person to seek the Lord. God is long-suffering and is of a tender mercy. It is not His will that anyone should perish, and He has no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but His Word plainly declares:

For He says, “At the acceptable time I listened to you, And on the day of salvation I helped you.” Behold, now is “the acceptable time,” behold, now is “the day of salvation” {2 Corinthians 6:2}

In the book of Proverbs we are warned,

"Do not boast about tomorrow, For you do not know what a day may bring forth." {Proverbs 27:1}

In Luke:

And He was saying to them all, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it. For what is a man profited if he gains the whole world, and loses or forfeits himself? For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His glory, and the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.{Luke 9:23-26}

In Isaiah:

"Seek the Lord while He may be found; Call upon Him while He is near." {Isaiah 55:6}

It will also be well for us to consider another warning from the book of Proverbs:

“How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded? And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing And fools hate knowledge? “Turn to My reproof, Behold, I will pour out My Spirit on you; I will make My words known to you."

“Because I called and you refused, I stretched out My hand and no one paid attention; And you neglected all My counsel, And did not want My reproof; I will also laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your dread comes, When your dread comes like a storm, And your calamity comes like a whirlwind, When distress and anguish come upon you."

“Then they will call on Me, but I will not answer; They will seek Me diligently but they will not find Me, Because they hated knowledge, And did not choose the fear of the Lord. “They would not accept My counsel, They spurned all My reproof."

“So they shall eat of the fruit of their own way, And be satiated with their own devices. “For the waywardness of the naive will kill them, And the complacency of fools will destroy them."

“But he who listens to Me shall live securely And will be at ease from the dread of evil.“ {Proverbs 1:22-33}

God is love - but He is also a holy consuming fire, and yes, there is a limit to even His mercy. Please avail yourselves of His mercy today while there is still time for you that He may be found of you. Here are some more verses which I would like to share with you which speak of the position of those unbelievers who choose to reject Jesus Christ.. Verses like these for example:

“Will God hear his cry when distress comes upon him?" {Job 27:9}

“So when you spread out your hands in prayer, I will hide My eyes from you; Yes, even though you multiply prayers, I will not listen. Your hands are covered with blood." {Isaiah 1:15}

"Therefore thus says the Lord, “Behold I am bringing disaster on them which they will not be able to escape; though they will cry to Me, yet I will not listen to them." {Jeremiah 11:11}

"You too have done evil, even more than your forefathers; for behold, you are each one walking according to the stubbornness of his own evil heart, without listening to Me. So I will hurl you out of this land into the land which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers; and there you will serve other gods day and night, for I will grant you no favor." {Jeremiah 16:12-13}

"Therefore, I indeed will deal in wrath. My eye will have no pity nor will I spare; and though they cry in My ears with a loud voice, yet I will not listen to them.” {Ezekiel 8:18}

"They will go with their flocks and herds, To seek the Lord, but they will not find Him; He has withdrawn from them." {Hosea 5:6}

"And just as He called and they would not listen, so they called and I would not listen,” says the Lord of hosts." {Zechariah 7:13}

I give you these verses so that you can see that time can run out on God’s patience and long-suffering with us. God has to be true to Himself and He has waited thousands upon thousands of years to bring to climax what He has declared in His holy Word will take place. The question I put before you is a simple one; where will you stand on that Day of all days, For or against God and His Son?

The decision before you now is where you will spend eternity. There are two paths laid out before all of us; one leads to eternal damnation, apart from God. The other leads to eternal life, with God. Before we die, we all will have already chosen which path we will follow. This blog is being written so that you might know that you have to make a choice and that you hopefully will choose the Way which leads to eternal life.

There are two things every person knows. One is that there is a certain way we should act. Two is that we don't act that way. The Bible confirms this when it says, "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" {Romans 3:23}.

Sin is the path that leads to damnation apart from God. God is righteous and just and so He must deal with sin. Someone might say, "God will simply pardon our sin." But think about how angry we get when someone who commits a crime gets away with it. Why do we get angry? Because a crime went unpunished. Just as a judge must deal with a man's crime, so must God deal with our sin, and "the wages of sin is death" {Romans 6:23}.

But there is another path. Even in these days of His coming wrath He still offers His grace and forgiveness.

"The Lord is "merciful and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in mercy and takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked" {Psalm 103:8 & Ezekiel 33:11}.

He has provided a way to escape damnation. Jesus Christ is that Way. Jesus Christ is the only Way to God the Father.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God. {John 3:16-21}

Our sins were laid on Jesus:

"All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all to fall on Him"{Isaiah 53:6}.

And the punishment that He took on Himself at the cross brought us peace with God:

“He was pierced through for our transgressions,He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our peace fell upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed” {Isaiah 53:5}.

And just as Jesus rose from the grave, so will we be raised after we die by Him and live with Him in heaven forever.

If you want and choose now to accept Jesus as your Savior just say this prayer:

"Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I need You. Thank You for dying for me. Lord Jesus, forgive me.Cleanse me from all my sins.I believe that You rose from the dead. I receive You right now as my Savior, my Lord and my life. Come into my heart Lord Jesus and fill me with Your life! Lord Jesus, I give myself to You right now for Your purpose."

If you have prayed this prayer from your heart God knows and now, YOU ARE BORN AGAIN FROM ABOVE! You are now completely forgiven, a new creation, innocent in the eyes of God. Welcome to the family of God!! :) ♥ ♥ † ♥ ♥

“that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” {John 14:17}

“But we should always give thanks to God for you, brethren beloved by the Lord, because God has chosen you from the beginning for salvation through sanctification by the Spirit and faith in the truth.” {2 Thessalonians 2:13}

Lastly, I have shared with you my story and presented to you my testimony of the faithfulness of God through Jesus Christ who will help you to overcome whatever it may be that you are battling in your lives. Life is not easy on any terms but it is a far, far better thing with Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior than it ever was before, no matter what I tried.

I present to you that the same can be true in your own won’t you choose to accept Him today?

It is my most fervent and heartfelt prayer that you will.

"For Christ did not enter a sanctuary made with human hands that was only a copy of the true one; He entered heaven itself, now to appear for us in God’s presence. Nor did He enter heaven to offer Himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. Otherwise Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But He has appeared once for all at the culmination of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of Himself. Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment, so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and He will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for Him.” {Hebrews 9:24-28}

I wish to say along with the Apostle Paul:

According to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness, Christ will even now, as always, be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death. (To Live Is Christ) For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.{ Philippians 1:20-21}

Godspeed beloveds ~ Susan. ~ ♥ ♥ † ♥ ♥
