"The Promise Fulfilled" ~ Part Ten ~

Updated on March 20, 2016

Continuing My Testimony and Journey of Discovery

My friends you yourselves know that we all shall one day die and leave this plane or dimension of existence, passing quickly into the next. What we do in the here and now makes all the difference in where we will spend our eternities. Heaven, if we are Jesus' sons and daughters by faith, through grace. Or Hell, if we die having rejected GOD’S One and only Son. I keep alluding to the reality of Hell because it is a real place for real people who refuse Jesus' free offer of salvation. I do so because I CARE.

"John the Baptist answered and said to them all, “As for me, I baptize you with water; but One is coming who is mightier than I, and I am not fit to untie the thong of His sandals; He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. His winnowing fork is in His hand to thoroughly clear His threshing floor, and to gather the wheat into His barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” {Luke 3: 16-17}

Not a single one of us will be a “victim” on Judgment Day. We all will have chosen by then where we will spend eternity. Our choices make the decision for us on that awesome day that we shall all stand before GOD. Either it will be everlasting joy and peace and indescribable love, as not a one of us can fathom the plans God has for us in His Kingdom! It boggles the imagination it does!

OR….it will be eternal damnation and torment with unquenchable fire:

"And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire.” {Revelation 20:12-14}

When God‘s Word calls this the “second death" it doesn‘t mean “death” as in not knowing anything about what they, the unsaved souls will be going through. Satan and the “fallen ones”, (who are angels who chose Satan’s lies over Yahweh's truth and Holiness.), will have those without Christ to torture and to torment forever in this eternity called the “second death."

A bit about the angels of God. There are those who serve God as His Messengers and there are those who fell with Satan.

What and who are the “fallen angels” one might well wonder? Fallen angels are also created beings who, as I stated before, chose Satan’s lies over God’s truth. Much like Adam and Eve did in the Garden. Except this is angelic rebellion and the created of God thinking they are somehow able to become the One who created them. They also were created with a free will to choose or reject Him, just as we later were.

These created beings are also used by God throughout time as His warriors, and servants. The word "angel" comes from the Greek word "angelos" which means messenger. Angels are spiritual beings without bodies of flesh and bones, though they apparently have the ability to appear in human form:

The Doom of Sodom:
“Now the two angels came to Sodom in the evening as Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodom. When Lot saw them, he rose to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground. And he said, “Now behold, my lords, please turn aside into your servant’s house, and spend the night, and wash your feet; then you may rise early and go on your way.” They said however; “No, but we shall spend the night in the square.” Yet he urged them strongly, so they turned aside to him and entered his house; and he prepared a feast for them, and baked unleavened bread, and they ate.

Before they lay down, the men of the city, the men of Sodom, surrounded the house, both young and old, all the people from every quarter; and they called to Lot and said to him, “ Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us that we may have relations with them.” But Lot went out to them at the doorway, and shut the door behind him, and said, “Please, my brothers, do not act wickedly. Now behold, I have two daughters who have not had relations with man; please let me bring them out to you, and do to them whatever you like; only do nothing to these men, inasmuch as they have come under the shelter of my roof.” But they said, “Stand aside.” Furthermore, they said, “This one came in as an alien, and already he is acting like a judge; now we will treat you worse than them.” So they pressed hard against Lot and came near to break the door. But the men reached out their hands and brought Lot into the house with them, and shut the door. They struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they wearied themselves trying to find the doorway.

Then the two men said to Lot, “Whom else have you here? A son-in-law, and your sons, and your daughters, and whomever you have in the city, bring them out of the place; for we are about to destroy this place, because their outcry has become so great before the Lord that the Lord has sent us to destroy it.” Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, and said, “Up, get out of this place, for the Lord will destroy the city.” But he appeared to his sons-in-law to be jesting.

When morning dawned, the angels urged Lot, saying, “Up, take your wife and your two daughters who are here, or you will be swept away in the punishment of the city.” But he hesitated. So the men seized his hand and the hand of his wife and the hands of his two daughters, for the compassion of the Lord was upon him; and they brought him out, and put him outside the city. When they had brought them outside, one said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you, and do not stay anywhere in the valley; escape to the mountains, or you will be swept away.” But Lot said to them, “Oh no, my lords! Now behold, your servant has found favor in your sight, and you have magnified your lovingkindness, which you have shown me by saving my life; but I cannot escape to the mountains, for the disaster will overtake me and I will die; now behold, this town is near enough to flee to, and it is small. Please, let me escape there (is it not small?) that my life may be saved.” He said to him, “Behold, I grant you this request also, not to overthrow the town of which you have spoken. Hurry, escape there, for I cannot do anything until you arrive there.” Therefore the name of the town was called Zoar." { Genesis 19:1-22}

Angels had many functions. They praised God:

"Bless the Lord, you His angels, Mighty in strength, who perform His word, Obeying the voice of His word!" {Psalm 103:20}

As I said, Angels served as messengers to the world:

"And an angel of the Lord appeared to him, standing to the right of the altar of incense. Zacharias was troubled when he saw the angel, and fear gripped him. But the angel said to him, “ Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your petition has been heard, and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you will give him the name John. You will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. For he will be great in the sight of the Lord; and he will drink no wine or liquor, and he will be filled with the Holy Spirit while yet in his mother’s womb. And he will turn many of the sons of Israel back to the Lord their God. It is he who will go as a forerunner before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers back to the children, and the disobedient to the attitude of the righteous, so as to make ready a people prepared for the Lord.”

Zacharias said to the angel, “How will I know this for certain? For I am an old man and my wife is advanced in years.” The angel answered and said to him, “I am Gabriel, who stands in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to bring you this good news. And behold, you shall be silent and unable to speak until the day when these things take place, because you did not believe my words, which will be fulfilled in their proper time.” {Luke 1:11-20}

The angel Gabriel foretold Jesus’ Birth:

Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph, of the descendants of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary. And coming in, he said to her, “Greetings, favored one! The Lord is with you.” But she was very perplexed at this statement, and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was. The angel said to her, “ Do not be afraid, Mary; for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you shall name Him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David; and He will reign over the house of Jacob-(Israel)- forever, and His kingdom will have no end.” Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I am a virgin?” The angel answered and said to her, “ The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you; and for that reason the holy Child shall be called the Son of God. And behold, even your relative Elizabeth has also conceived a son in her old age; and she who was called barren is now in her sixth month. For nothing will be impossible with God.” And Mary said, “Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word.” And the angel departed from her. {Luke 1 : 26-38;}

"And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them; and they were terribly frightened. But the angel said to them, “ Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people; for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” And suddenly there appeared with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, “ Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace among men with whom He is pleased.” {Luke 2:9-14);

Angels watched over Jesus:

“For He will give His angels charge concerning you, To guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, That you do not strike your foot against a stone.” {Psalm 91:11-12},

Angels also watch over God‘s people today and angels were sometimes used as instruments of God's judgment:

"So it will be at the end of the age; the angels will come forth and take out the wicked from among the righteous, and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth"{Matt.13:49-50}.

Fallen angels are those angels who rebelled against God along with Lucifer, an archangel who became the devil and / or Satan/adversary. Following are verses often quoted in reference to the evil one:

"How you have fallen from heaven, O star of the morning, son of the dawn! You have been cut down to the earth, You who have weakened the nations! "But you said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, And I will sit on the mount of assembly In the recesses of the north. 'I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will make myself like the Most High,” (Isaiah 14:12-14).

The bible says, and most scholars agree, that one third of the angels fell into sin and became demons:

"And another sign appeared in heaven: and behold, a great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads were seven diadems. And his tail swept away a third of the stars of heaven, and threw them to the earth . . . " (Rev. 12:3-4).

In the future, there will be a judgment upon the fallen angels as well as unrepentant fallen man:

"Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels," (Matt. 25:41).

“For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but cast them into hell and committed them to pits of darkness, reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noah, a preacher of righteousness, with seven others, when He brought a flood upon the world of the ungodly; and if He condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives thereafter; and if He rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men (for by what he saw and heard that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented day after day by their lawless deeds), then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment, and especially those who indulge the flesh in its corrupt desires and despise authority.“ {2 Peter 2:4-10}

"And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, He hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day," (Jude 1:6).

"And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him," (Rev. 12:9). {CAR}

I went into all this about angels and the fallen angels and demons to share with you that these demons/fallen angels are Satan's tools with which to bring temptation into our lives as early as he can. One of his most successful programs has been through addictions. And he will practice his wiles even upon the innocent babies and children. Ever notice how willful children can be even after they have been taught better? Yes, I believe that this too is due to a demonic influence in the world.

God does not wish that anyone go to hell, we choose our own eternal destination through either our acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior, or by the rejection of the same. Heaven or Hell…there is no “holding place," no "purgatory"…This decision has to be made before we physically die. And if we die without making the decision? Well we made it already by not responding to His call in our “appointed time or day”.

I feel led to reiterate certain truths for you, which I have been doing along the way. I hope that in my yearning for you to also share in the knowledge of these things that I haven't confused you, for that is the last thing that I would wish to do in any way, shape, form or fashion.

But, you see, I must also attempt to help you to understand that our eternal destinations are all personally decided by us with our own willingness, or unwillingness, to allow Jesus His rightful place upon the throne of our hearts. To be truly a Christ follower in word and in deed is all about how we love, honor and worship GOD. And secondly it is about how we love our neighbors, who can be as far away as the other side of the world or just across the hall from us, as we love ourselves.

Jesus said when He was asked what was the greatest Commandment of all:

And He answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself.” {Luke 10:27}

I have written this more than once in my testimony, because of it’s primary importance after our salvation. For if we love God and seek to honor and obey Him? What is important to Him becomes of primary importance to us. As far as we love Him and seek to glorify and honor Him we will also treat others with respect and concern, and care about their circumstances as well. These are the two greatest commandments Jesus said.

LOVE: This is exactly why Jesus Christ left heaven and came to this earth. It’s all about the love of GOD for His creation. Not about me, not about you, but GOD. Meaning He doesn’t love us for who we are at any stage of our growth spiritually or not. He loves us because that’s who He is. GOD IS LOVE.

[ God Is Love ] "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God." {1 John 4:7}

That is the whole reason I am taking this journey with you who may happen by to read my story. For it is out of a heart of love given to me by Him that urges me forth. From Him through me, as the ex-addicted person, to you, the addict who may still be suffering. From His heart , through Jesus', to yours. For the glory of GOD the Father through GOD the Son.

I share with you my testimony of God’s amazing grace and faithfulness in order to proclaim to you the awesome reality of the One who loves you just as you are, where you are, right now. And He loves you unconditionally.

No matter what you may have done, or who you did it with, or who you did it to. Whatever, whenever, however, He loves you! He will forgive you just as He has forgiven me and trillions of other souls throughout His-Story. He will forgive us as we surrender to Him and He will cast our sins as far as the east is from the west, into the sea of His forgetfulness.

"The Lord is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear and reverence Him. As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the Lord has compassion on those who fear and reverence, (Godly fear)- Him. For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust."{Psalm 103:8-14}

This is who the GOD, the Great I AM of the Holy Bible is. This is the one and only same GOD that Jesus came to reveal to us all in the way in which He lived, loved and forgave those who persecuted Him. The way He loved and forgave those who pinned Him by those terrible Roman spikes to that cruel cross where He paid for my sin debt and yours in full by the shedding of His poured out perfect and sinless blood.

more to come.....

    your right, God never changes and never turns away on a promise

    God is angry with the wicked everyday and most people do not or will not admit to that.

    So they tend to mock God however he has the last laugh.

    thank you again for a great hub

    Thank you again. I believe God through the Holy Spirit gives all His children different gifts as He chooses to.

    I believe that He uses dreams in some people today just as He did in His Word. For as the scriptures declare "God never changes" :)

    I may have had a dream about it, i dont know I cant explain my "gift" I guess I will call it. God gives us everything so it comes from the Holy Spirit.

    Earlier this afternoon I fell asleep on the couch, or so I thought, however the strangest thing happened to me that never happened before, I didnt know if I fell asleep or if I was dreaming I was asleep.

    One time I had a dream that I was dreaming what I was going to dream the next time and I did.

    Anyway great hub

    Thank you for the positive feedback Rayne123. I truly appreciate it. There isn't too much more before I conclude. Yes, God's Wrath will be poured out on the wicked and unbelieving when Jesus returns. Don't know how you might've read this latest installment unless, as I said, sometimes I reiterate what I'm saying in order to share my story. :)

    HI Good hub, however its strange, but I could have sworn I read this and yet I just received the email today.

    I must of read it somewhere before in my mind through God. Neat.

    Anyway there is one part I was always confused on and that is where he gives his daughters, however I am now seeing another side to this story and I think it was a test from God. Not to sure about that.

    The part you said that God does not keep his anger is also true, but speaking from my life around me now, I do believe God is angered at the wicked everyday and has his bow and arrow ready to go.

    I do know he will let go of his anger when the job is done.

    Anyway great hub and glad to read it again lol.
