i love Islam, this love has resulted in a respect for other religions, these words are just to share my love with my loved ones.

The Opening

Question is a most common word that we do hear, encounter, and respond to. We do appreciate interesting and thought provoking ones. In fact one of the common interactions at Hub Pages pertains to the same. Through this Hub an exposure of the questions from the Quranic teachings is intended.

The Quran openly proclaims that it has been revealed by God (45:02) as book of guidance for the entire humanity (02:185). The Book delves with different approaches to explain the tenets of faith along with expressing the ideas and views that are essential for human and human societies and specifies the sole purpose of human existence on the earth. One of the most striking features of the Quranic approach is that it takes the intellect of every reader along with its description and never lets anyone feel a distant relation with the teachings. Therefore in no way one can feel that the Book is compelling to adopt the faith that it propagates. Rather it just ignites the mind and gently touches the heart to help ponder and understand the realities. The Quranic Questions is one of the interactive forms of Quranic Approaches that present a world of fascination and inquisitiveness before the readers just to help reach where their hearts merge with the liking's of their Creator.

Following are the questions followed by respective chapter and verse numbers. The queries have been categorized into different sub topics. Hope this will entail a lively interaction between you and the Book.

About God

The concept of monotheism has been greatly emphasized with lots of reasonable, logical, scientific teachings. One of the most intriguing forms of emphasizing the unity of God is posing the queries. God Himself asks His servants to think over certain realities.

  • Will you worship, besides Allah, something which has no power either to harm or benefit you?...05:76
  • To whom belongs all that is in the heavens and on earth?...06:12
  • Say: What do you think if some chastisement of Allah or the Hour suddenly overtakes you: do you cry to any other than Allah? Answer, if you speak the truth - 06:40
  • Say: What do you think? If Allah should take away your hearing and your sight and seal your hearts - who is the god, other than Allah, who could restore them to you? - 06:46
  • Who is it that delivers you from dangers in the deep darknesses of the land and the sea, and to whom do you call in humility and in the secrecy of your hearts? To whom do you pray: "If He will but save us from this distress, we shall most certainly be among the thankful?….06:63
  • Who is it that has power over hearing and sight….? - 10:31
  • And who is it that brings out the living from the dead and the dead from the living…? - 10:31
  • Say: "Do you see,- if His punishment should come to you by night or by day,- what portion of it would the sinners wish to hasten? - 10:50
  • Do you know anyone that might be His compeer? - 19:65
  • Are you not aware that Allah knows all that is in heaven and on earth? - 22:70
  • Say: "Who is the Lord of the seven heavens, and the Lord of the Throne (of Glory) Supreme? - 23:86
  • Who listens to the (soul) distressed when it calls on Him, and Who relieves its suffering, and makes you (mankind) inheritors of the earth? (Can there be another) god besides Allah? - 27:62
  • Say: Who can protect you from Allah if He intends harm for you? And who can prevent Him if He intends to show you mercy? - 33:17
  • Is not Allah enough for his Servant? - 39:36
  • Say: "Who then has any power at all (to intervene) on your behalf with Allah, if His Will is to give you some loss or to give you some profit?...48:11
  • Is not Allah the wisest of judges? - 95:08

Blessings of God are innumerable not possible to measure. One of the Quranic ways of inviting the attention of human beings towards their Creator is to remind them of His blessings. Just have a look at there different shades:

  • 'Who has forbidden the adornment which Allah has brought forth for His creatures or the good things from among the means of sustenance..? - 07:32
  • Who is it that sustains you (in life) from the sky and from the earth…? - 10:31
  • Did you consider that the sustenance which Allah had sent down for you of your own accord you have declared some of it as unlawful and some as lawful? Ask them: 'Did Allah bestow upon you any authority for this or do you forge lies against Allah?...10:59
  • Did they not perceive that We had ordained the night for them to have rest in it, and made the day bright? - 27:86
  • Do they not see that it is Allah Who gives abundantly to whom He wills and sparingly (to whom He wills)? - 30:37
  • Is there a creator, other than Allah, to give you sustenance from heaven or earth? - 35:03
  • Which of the favors of your Lord will you deny? - 55:13
  • Who is there that can provide you with Sustenance if He were to withhold His provision? - 67:21
  • Have We not made the earth (as a place) to draw together? - 77:25
  • Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse? - 78:06
  • Let man look at his food, (and how We provide it)? - 80:24

The Human Nature

The human nature has been created on the fitrah (nature) of Allah. To believe in one God is just a returning to the fitrah (30:30). Therefore in Islam there is no compulsion as truth from falsehood has been made clear and every human has its knowledge. What require for them is a timely reminder and a beautiful admonition. Look at these queries:

  • Say: "Shall I take for my protector any other than Allah, the Maker of the heavens and the earth? And He it is that feeds but is not fed…06:14
  • Of your 'partners' is there any that can give any guidance towards truth…? - 10:35
  • Do you worship things that can neither be of any good to you nor do you harm? - 21:66
  • Who originates creation, then repeats it, and who gives you sustenance from heaven and earth? (Can there be another) god besides Allah? Say, "Bring forth your argument, if ye are telling the truth? - 27:64
  • Does not Allah know best all that is in the hearts of all creation? - 29:10
  • Do they not see that We have made a safe Sanctuary (to their place), while the people are snatched away from all around them? Do they yet believe in falsehood and deny the favors of Allah? - 29:67
  • Do they not reflect in their own minds? - 30:08
  • Nobody knows what it is that he will earn on the morrow? - 31:34
  • Nobody knows in what land he is to die? - 31:34
  • Is one who worships devoutly during the hour of the night prostrating himself or standing (in adoration), who takes heed of the Hereafter, and who places his hope in the Mercy of his Lord - (like one who does not)? Say: "Are those equal, those who know and those who do not know?... 39:09
  • Have We not created you from a fluid (held) despicable? - 77:20
  • Out of what stuff Allah has created him? - 80:18
  • Let man but think from what he is created? - 86:05
  • Does he think that none has power over him? - 90:05
  • Does he think that none beholds him? - 90:07
  • Have We not made for him a pair of eyes? And a tongue, and a pair of lips? - 90:8-9
  • Does he not know that Allah sees? - 96:14

The patterns over which human beings are created facilitate thinking and recognizing capabilities, utilization of which help recognize their true Creator and convince them worship Him alone. The faculties that help ponder are ears, eyes and heart. The Quran present before these faculties various dimensions of the human selves, their affairs and the entire universe to think and act accordingly.

  • Say: can the blind be held equal to the seeing?...06:50
  • Who is it that rules and regulates all affairs…? - 10:31
  • Say: Look at all that is in the heavens and on earth..? - 10:101

  • Have they not perceived that Allah, Who has created the heavens and the earth, has the power to create the like of them? - 17:99
  • Don’t they see We gradually reduce the land (in their control) from its outlying borders?21:44
  • Say: "Who is it in whose hands is the governance of all things,- who protects (all), but is not protected (of any)? (say) if you know? - 23:88
  • Who guides you through the depths of darkness on land and sea, and Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before His Mercy? (Can there be another) god besides Allah?- 27:63
  • Such is the Creation of Allah: now show Me what is there that others besides Him have created? - 31:11
  • Do they not travel through the earth, and see what was the End of those before them,- though they were superior to them in strength?...35:44
  • Do they not travel through the earth and see what was the End of those before them? They were more numerous than these and superior in strength and in the traces (they have left) in the land: Yet all that they accomplished was of no profit to them? - 40:82
  • As for the 'Aad people, they became arrogant with pride in the land without any right, and said, "Who is stronger than us in might?" Did they not see that God, Who had created them, is stronger than they in might? - 41:15

  • Have you ever thought if (all) your water were to disappear into the earth, who then could bring you gushing water? - 67:30

How the Quran won my heart

“Painters can make the eyes of a portrait appear to be following you from one place to another, but which author can write a scripture that anticipates your daily vicissitudes? Each night I would formulate questions and objections and somehow discover the answer the next day. It seemed that the author was reading my ideas and writing in the appropriate lines in time for my next reading. I have met myself in its page”(Dr.Jeffrey Lang, Associate Professor of Mathematics at the University of Kansas)

The Nature

The Quran presents theories about different forms of nature and the entire universe stands for its articulation. Just look at these queries how beautifully God describes the very essence of what exists here. Follow through the words of the Book, the self and the universe around will appear to be their replica.

Quran and the Nature

The Guidance

The success depends on guidance. It is the right path free of confusions and ambiguity, its a path over which the journey of life begins and ends with a positive note. The way humans get their basic needs fulfilled, attainment of guidance too demands a similar approach. The nature suffices for the basic human needs whereas for guidance the obedience of the Creator is pivotal. Look at the questions that precisely delve with these vitals.

  • He Who gives guidance to truth more worthy to be followed or he who finds not guidance (himself) unless he is guided? What then is the matter with you? - 10:35
  • Say: "Who is the Lord and Sustainer of the heavens and the earth?" Say: "(It is) Allah." Say: "Do you then take (for worship) protectors other than Him, such as have no power either for good or for harm to themselves?... 13:16
  • Say: "Are the blind equal with those who see? Or the depths of darkness equal with light?" Or do they assign to Allah partners who have created (anything) as He has created, so that the creation seemed to them similar? Say: "Allah is the Creator of all things: He is the One, the Supreme and Irresistible…13:16
  • Did you not see those who have exchanged Allah's favor with ingratitude to Him, causing their people to be cast in the abode of utter perdition? Hell, wherein they shall roast?- 14:28-29
  • Have you seen him who rejects Our sings and said: 'Surely I shall continue to be favored with riches and children? - 19:77
  • Say: "To whom belong the earth and all beings therein? (say) if ye know? - 23:84
  • Have you ever considered the case of the person who has made his lust his god? Can you take the responsibility of guiding such a one aright?- 25:43
  • Who will guide those whom Allah leaves astray? - 30:29
  • Say: "Have you seen (these) 'Partners' of yours whom you call upon besides Allah? Show Me what it is they have created in the (wide) earth. Or have they a share in the heavens? Or have We given them a Book from which they (can derive) clear (evidence)?- 35:40
  • Do you worship that you have (yourselves) carved? - 37:95
  • Say: "Do you see what it is you invoke besides Allah? Show me what it is they have created on earth, or have they a share in the heavens bring me a book (revealed) before this, or any remnant of knowledge (you may have), if you are telling the truth? - 46:04
  • We have indeed made the Qur'an easy to understand and remember: then is there any that will receive admonition? - 54:17

The Quranic Maxims

The Koran abounds in excellent moral suggestions and precepts, its composition is so fragmentary that we cannot turn to a single page without finding maxims of which all men must approve. This fragmentary construction yields texts, and mottoes, and rules complete in themselves, suitable for common men in any of the incidents of life.258 (From John William Draper's book, A History of the Intellectual Development of Europe)”

the life hereafter is a next life, or its a next world, the pair is as perfect as the appearance of day and night.

The Life-Hereafter

The concept of life hereafter is one of the important creeds of Islam. The true essence of which is that the world is a testing place, humans have been given a specific time limit to obey their Creator and perform good deeds.
After death they will be raised again, God will assess their lives, will admit in paradise if they were righteous, else they will be thrown in hell fire. This creed has been dealt in the Quran through different perspectives, posing questions to stir up the human intellect is one of its important aspects.

  • 'When we are turned to bones and particles (of dust), shall we truly be raised up as a new creation? – 17:49
  • What! When we shall be reduced to bones and particles (of dust), shall we be raised again as a new creation? - 17:98
  • What! When we become dust, - we and our fathers, - shall we really be raised (from the dead)? - 27:67
  • Do they not see that Allah, Who created the heavens and the earth, and never wearied with their creation, is able to give life to the dead? - 46:33
  • Were We weary with the first Creation that they should be in confused doubt about a new Creation? - 50:15
  • Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? - 75:03
  • Does man think that he will be left uncontrolled, (without purpose)? - 75:36
  • Are you the more difficult to create or the heaven (above), (Allah) has constructed it? - 79:27
  • (On the day of judgment) The female (infant), buried alive, will be questioned, for what crime she was killed? - 81:8-9

Mislead People

Many generations have passed. The history tells us their past and their achievements. We do believe that for every period and every nation there was a Prophet or Messenger sent down by God. What we witness of the past is that some people believed and remain steadfast whereas some rejected and gone astray. The Quran elaborates a few aspects of mislead people as an eye opener for those who wish to believe their true Creator.

  • Have they not seen how many a people We have destroyed before them? People whom We had made more powerful in the earth than you are and upon them We showered from the heavens abundant rains, and at whose feet We caused the rivers to flow?...06:06
  • Travel through the earth and see what was the end of those who rejected Truth?.. 06:11
  • Do they not travel through the earth, and see what the end of those before them was? …12:109
  • So travel through the earth, and see what was the end of those who denied (the Truth)…16:36
  • But how many (countless) generations before them have we destroyed, who were even better in equipment and in glitter to the eye? - 19:74
  • How numerous are the peoples that We destroyed before them! Do you perceive any one of them, or hear even a whisper of them? - 19:98
  • Do they not travel through the earth and see what was the End of those before them? They were even superior to them in strength, and in the traces (they have left) in the land: but Allah did call them to account for their sins, and none had they to defend them against Allah - 40:21
  • Have they been created without a Creator? Or, are they their own creators? Or, have they created the heavens and the earth? - 52:35-36
  • Do they possess the treasures of your Lord? Or, is it they who control them? - 52:37
  • Do they have a ladder by climbing which they overhear what goes on in heavens?- 52:38
  • Do they have the knowledge of the unseen realities whereby they may be writing down? - 52:41
  • Shall man have (just) anything he hankers after? - 53:24
  • Will his wealth profit him when he falls headlong (into the Pit)? - 92:11

The Quranic Questions & Answers

At some places the Quran poses questions along with there answers:

  • When My servants ask you (Muhammad) concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calls on Me - 02:186
  • They ask you what they should spend (In charity). Say: Whatever you spend that is good…02:215
  • They ask you how much they are to spend; Say: What is beyond your needs…02:219
  • They ask you concerning wine and gambling. Say: "In them is great sin, and some profit, for men; but the sin is greater than the profit.".. 02:219
  • They ask you about the right way of dealing with orphans. Say "The right way is that which is for their good. Then there is no harm if you live a common life with them for they are after all your own brethren.. 02:220
  • They ask you concerning women's courses. Say: They are a hurt and a pollution.. 02:222
  • They ask you what is lawful to them (as food). Say: lawful unto you are (all) things good and pure…05:04
  • They ask you about the (final) Hour - when will be its appointed time? Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (alone): None but He can reveal as to when it will occur…07:187
  • They ask you concerning the Spirit (of inspiration). Say: "The Spirit (comes) by command of my Lord: of knowledge it is only a little that is communicated to you, (O men!) - 17:85
  • They ask you concerning the Mountains: say, "My Lord will uproot them and scatter them as dust.. 20:105
  • If you ask them who has created the heavens and the earth and subjected the sun and the moon (to his Law), they will certainly reply, "Allah". How are they then deluded away (from the truth)? - 29:61
  • And if indeed thou ask them who it is that sends down rain from the sky, and gives life therewith to the earth after its death, they will certainly reply, "Allah!" Say, "Praise be to Allah!" But most of them understand not - 29:63
  • The people ask you as to when will Resurrection take place. Say, "The knowledge of it is with Allah alone: you may not know that it may well be near at hand - 33:63
  • If you ask them, "Who created the heavens and the earth?" they will say, "Allah." Ask them, "When the fact is this, do you think that if Allah wills harm for me, these goddesses, whom you invoke instead of Allah, will avert His harm from me? Or, if Allah wills to show me mercy, will they be able to withhold His mercy?" Therefore, tell them, "Allah is enough for me. In Him do those who trust place their trust? - 39:38

What about answers of the rest?

These were some of the questions, simple, straight with no complexities. I am not here to claim that all questions that appeared in the Quran have been dealt here, but yes, tried my best to include the maximum. As far the answers to all the questions are concerned, they demand gentle care from the readers, that’s all. Some queries directly address the human intellect, some invites to ponder and some delves with historical and scientific facts, they just demand to think in a way that is appropriate. However if one refers the Book in view of the above verses a short and sharp answer can be found. As far comprehensive answers to all the queries are concerned, reflection and study of the Quran will suffice, as the Book contains detailed discussions on the subjects appeared therein.
