The Revelation (Prophecies of the Revelation Part 14)
The Revelation (Prophecies of the Revelation)
Part 14 - A Final Message
John, who was a disciple of Jesus Christ, wrote the Revelation, the last book of the Bible. In the last two chapters of Revelation, he wrote about the new heaven and new earth, and the future city of New Jerusalem. In Revelation, Chapter 21, John provides a detailed description of this amazing city. And in Chapter 22 we can read more about New Jerusalem, and about a final message regarding the future of mankind.
The city of New Jerusalem will have an actual river with pure water, as clear as crystal, that will flow from the throne of God and Jesus. Rows of the tree of life will line both sides of the river, and the middle of the city street. These trees will bear twelve kinds of fruit, yielding their fruit every month.
The curse of evil will no longer exist in the world. God and Jesus will live in New Jerusalem and God's servants will serve Him. They will see His face and His name will be on their foreheads. There will never be any darkness in the city. People won't need candles or sunlight; the presence of God will give light to the city, and the people will rule forever. The angel told John that these words are true. God had sent His angel to show His servants the things that must soon take place.
Jesus said that He would be returning soon. And He said, "Blessed are those who remember the words of the prophecy of Revelation." We should all be aware of things that happen that indicate the end is near according to the prophecy of Revelation. We should remember and prepare for the events it foretells.
We can get a glimpse of the future home of Christians, and we can read more about it in the book of Revelation as written in the following:
Revelation, Chapter 22, Verses 1 through 7:
The angel showed me a pure river of the water of life that was clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the middle of the street of it, and on both sides of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit that it yielded every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
There will no longer be a curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be there, and His servants will serve Him. They will see His face and His name will be on their foreheads. There will be no darkness there; they will not need a candle or the light of the sun, because the Lord God will give them light, and they will reign forever.
The angel said to me, "These words are trustworthy and true; the Lord God of the holy prophets sent His angel to show His servants the things that must soon be done." And Jesus said, "Behold, I am coming soon. Blessed is he who remembers the words of the prophecy of this book."
The end of the world, as we know it, is coming soon. A time will come when the fate of every person is decided for eternity. Then unsaved people will be punished and the saved will be rewarded according to their work. God will bless those who obey His commandments and believe in Jesus as their savior. They will have eternal life and enter through the gates of their wonderful new home in New Jerusalem.
The Holy Spirit of God says, "Come to Jesus and be saved." Those who are saved should tell others who need to be saved to come to Jesus. Those who are thirsty refers to anyone who needs salvation from sin. Let those who are thirsty and want to be saved accept the gift of the water of life. This is an invitation from God to those who desire salvation. If they believe in Jesus Christ as their savior, their sins will be forgiven and they will receive the gift of eternal life.
John includes a testimony to those who hear the words of the prophecy of Revelation; if anyone adds to it, God will add to that person the plagues that are in Revelation. And if anyone takes away from it, God will remove that person's name from the Book of Life.
Jesus says, "I am coming soon." No one knows exactly when Jesus will return or when the prophecies of Revelation will begin to happen, but the signs are certainly here. The strongest indication will be when a man of peace arrives on the scene, and somehow brings peace to the Middle East. Those who follow Revelation prophecy will recognize this man of peace as the Antichrist.
Soon after the Antichrist comes into power, the seven-year Tribulation Period will begin. This will be a terrible time of disasters all over the world.
Now is the time to decide your destiny, because soon it will be too late. This world will someday be destroyed and unsaved people will be destroyed with it. For most, it will be destruction in the Lake of Fire; this will be the second death. For Christians. it will be eternal life and happiness in a perfect new world.
We can read in the book of Revelation about the final message to all human beings as written in the following:
Revelation, Chapter 22, Verses 8 through 21:
I, John, saw these things and heard them. And when I had heard and seen them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the angel who had showed them to me. And he said to me, "Do not worship me, because I am your fellow servant, and with your brothers, the prophets, and those who keep the words of this book. Worship God."
Then the angel said to me, "Do not seal the words of the prophecy of this book, because the time is near. He who is unjust, let him remain unjust, and he who is filthy, let him remain filthy. And he who is righteous, let him remain righteous, and he who is holy, let him remain holy."
Jesus said, "Behold, I am coming soon and my reward is with me, and I will give to each one according to what he has done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed are those who obey His commandments, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and enter through the gates into the city. Outside the city are dogs; the sorcerers, the sexually immoral, the murderers, those who worship idols, and whoever loves to practice deception.
I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify these things to you in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright morning star."
The Spirit and the bride say, "Come." And let him who hears say, "Come." And whoever is thirsty, let him come. And whoever wants to, let him take the free gift of the water of life. And I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book.
And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his part out of the Book of Life, out of the holy city, and from things that are written in this book.
He who testifies to these things says, "Surely, I am coming soon." Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
From the Bible:
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. And of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only. But as it was in the days of Noah, so will it be at the coming of the Son of man.
(Matthew, Chapter 24, Verses 35 through 37)
