The Spirit of the Orphan

We have established in previous editions according to Luke 3:38, under the genealogy of Jesus, that Adam was the son of God, so it can be concluded that God the Father was not just creating human beings, He was creating sons according to the Eternal Covenant of Sonship, when He swore by Himself to do this. (See edition on Understanding the Covenants.) So the fall of Adam separated him from his Father and by so doing, he became Fatherless. When someone is fatherless he is an orphan. We have also conclusively established that one of the major characteristic of an orphan is that he hoards. Make no mistake he will be generous when he has to, to ultimately maintain his supply. Let’s pick up the biblical example of this spirit in Genesis and see the pristine response of the soul of an orphan.

Now the Bible says enough for you the reader to understand the relationship enjoyed between the Father and son, it says that God the Father would usually come and fellowship with the un-fallen Adam in the cool of the day, and that every animal that the Father fashioned out of the ground, Adam named. This kind of relationship went on for some time. The relationship was not one of God and man but of Father and son, it was a fearless relationship built on love for each other. Adam never had to concern himself with food, shelter or clothing, because this was provided for him by the Father. All he had to do was rule over and maintain the Garden of Eden. He was also naked and not ashamed. It is very important to understand the context for him being naked. Adam was clothed by his flesh, which means that his true identity was spirit which was contained in the human flesh body which was his clothing. So Adam was not naked as we understand naked, being without fabric clothing, but yes he lacked fabric clothing but was not naked, okay. When you see yourself has a spirit, your flesh is your clothing. You body is not who you are, it is where you are. So the Father and son would communicate spirit with spirit and by so doing became one with each other. The soul of man was made to blindly follow his spirit and during this time it was his spirit that led him. Those that are led by the spirit, these are the sons of God.

After eating of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, the Bible says that their eyes were opened, Gen 3:7, what eyes? The eyes of their soul were opened and when you see yourself through soul, you will perceive your natural naked body as your identity. So what did they immediately do? They immediately clothed themselves with fig leaves and hid themselves when they heard the sound of the Father for fear. Their entire point of view changed and from that point on they starting displaying characteristics of an orphan. God the Father asks them in vs.11, “...who told you, you are naked? Have you eaten from the tree that I commanded you not to eat”. So the Father concluded that they had eaten from the forbidden tree because they said they were naked. Had they not eaten from the Forbidden Tree, you could have told them every day that they were naked and they would not have believed you. When you are living from your soul, you will always try to clothe yourself, protect yourself and feed yourself, at this stage you are an orphan in your spirit.

The original plan for the sons was ruling and dominion not pursing resources; his dominant pursuit was living life than rather making a living. Man’s provision for daily living was inherent in his relationship of obedience and co-operation with his Father and for him to do the will of the Father for the earth. All of that changed when he lost his dominion through disobedience. They were then evicted from the garden and fellowship with God the Father was broken, they had to now pay attention to things they had once never cared for, such as food, shelter, water and survival itself. It was this tragic event that initiated the change in priorities for all mankind and refocused his life on daily survival.

This preoccupation with temporal things like food, shelter, clothing and protection has consumed people to this day. They all live with the spirit of the orphan. Genesis 3;17-19, Cursed is the ground because of you, through painful toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken, for dust you are and to duct you will return. This legacy of need was passed from generation to generation until it became and remains the consuming priority of mankind.

Everything that man does outside of the Kingdom of Heaven is motivated by personal needs, by the spirit of the orphan. This fact was proven through the work of Abraham Maslow, a 20th century behavioural scientist and psychologist. Dr. Maslow concluded that there are nine common needs to all people and cultures viz; food, water, clothes, housing, protection, security, preservation, self actualisation and significance. Until these fundamental needs are secured nothing else matters. Essentially Maslow was accurate in his findings as it identifies the progressive motivation that drives the human being as an orphan.

Now, a careful study of all forms of religion reveals that all religions are designed and built on the promise of meeting ones needs. Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Judaism and many others, seek to draw followers, by promising to make their lives better, improve their circumstances, to give them some sense of control over their environment and offer answers to death and the afterlife. To this list we MUST add Institutional Christianity. Another characteristic of religion is that all religions are motivated by pleasing their deity in order to secure basic needs. After man became separated from God the Father, he feared that his needs would not be met, so he began to worship Gods of his own inventions, he felt all alone and that everything was up to him. This is why through history you will find a variety of deities, sun god, moon god, rain god, fish god, god of grain, fertility god etc. Man invented religion as an effort to appease fearful and unknown deities into giving him what he needs for daily life. The purpose of religion was to win the good favour of the gods by being good to them and doing rituals for them.

Another common denominator of religions is that the primary focus is on the needs of the worshiper, not the one that is worshiped. Their prayers are self centred, almost exclusively focused on the person’s needs and desires. No attention is given to the needs and the desires of the deity beyond that which is necessary to appease it and persuade it to act on their behalf. In all religions, prayers offered are for personal gain, let’s be honest 98% of our prayers deal with what we want from God, a new job, new car, a new house, enough money to pay our bills and meet our debit orders. How often do we spare a thought for what the Father wants? People love religion because its keeps them in the asking posture, even though they are never satisfied with what it delivers, they are driven by the spirit of the orphan. The chief end of a religious man is to meet his own need that is why Jesus had a tough time with the religious leaders in his day.

The world is driven by this kind of behaviour and Jesus Christ enters humanity and turns Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs upside down. All preceding Kingdoms and Empires had as a focal point the Temple of their Gods, and this was given much attention by way of a grand temple structure, with huge statues and fine architecture because the focus of that civilisation was pleasing the God to supply their needs for life. Jesus comes on the scene and opens his ministry by saying “Repent for the Kingdom of God the Father has returned”.

Matt 6:25-34, therefore I tell you do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body what you will wear. Is not life more important that food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, they neither sow or reap or store away in barns, yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life. And why do you worry about clothes? Vs.32 For all these things the pagans eagerly seek, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. Vs.33 BUT SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS AND ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE ADDED ON TO YOU. Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Each day has enough trouble for its own.

Our problem today is that we have the spirit of the orphan and Jesus Christ came to offer you the Spirit of the son, by showing you how a son of God should live on the earth in the Kingdom. We have not understood the spirit of a son and have made our source our employer, parents, spouse and government to sustain us. We live in a dog-eat-dog world and as long as we stay in the religion of Church we are no different from the pagans. If you are looking to anyone other than God the Father as your source then you have the spirit of the orphan. If you will make God the Father your source and not worry about tomorrow but seek to do the will of the Father, then he will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus. You will need to leave religious church life and enter Kingdom life. In order to enter the Kingdom you must be born again of water and spirit. You have to overcome the spirit of the orphan and embrace the spirit of sonship. You do that by starting to trust he Father for you daily needs without you having to worry about how that will happen.

Unfortunately Church culture keeps you in the activity of pleasing God, fasting, praying meeting, conferences, sisters meeting, men’s fellowship, youth meeting, meeting to meet about the frequency of meetings, worship / band practice, Midweek service, cell group meetings, Sunday school meeting, administration meetings, leaders meetings, dialogues meetings, special meetings, this is all seen as doing the work of ministry, and you are measured by how many of these meetings you are “faithful” in attending Paul would say, I commend you to the Holy Spirit, until I see you again. He trusted more in the power of the Holy Spirit to regulate you and keep you in Kingdom, until the Christ, the spirit of the son has been formed in you, so that you can be activated into Kingdom agenda. People of God, something is wrong, and it’s is not the “immaturity of the saints”, it is the system of Church being led by the spirit of the orphan. In this context, CHURCH WILL KILL YOU. I pray that the Holy Spirit will open your spiritual eyes to see the Harlot sitting on the throne of your Sunday morning worship services.

What could be more destructive in the life of a child when his mother is a prostitute and his father is unknown, because of the multiple partners of his mother, the chances of him finding his father is diminished. The mother would give him to an Orphanage or Foster Care, because he or she would become a distraction to her harlotry or she would raise the child just to recruit her into the family business as another prostitute. If this systems continues what you have is a hollowed out, fearful generation of slaves, so damaged in their psyche, that they will never, ever find their Father and be translated out from the Kingdom of Darkness into the Kingdom of Light. In the last days, I will send the Spirit of Elijah and he will turn the hearts of the Father back to the sons, and the hearts of the son back to the Father, or else I will smite the earth with a curse. This is already happening because we are living in the last days, the earth will never be cursed again as long has the sons of God return to their position of dominion and rulership.

Grace, Mercy, Love & Peace

Malachi 4:6”... and he will restore the hearts of the fathers to the children and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the land with a curse”

What is the curse? The curse is when an orphan in spirit assumes the role of a spiritual Father. What I am about to say must be said, because the seasons have changed and I say these things because I have been sent by the Father to declare what is on his mind, so that the His sons can return to Him.
An orphan mentality is resident in the religious church leader who himself has never taken the time to be lead by the Spirit into his Sonship but chose the position of influence and power because various circumstances forced him to this endeavour, which he understands to be his call into ministry. At this point for many of these Pastors this is absolutely true but because he does not have a Kingdom Model to build this Call he follows the Church Model that so many others like himself have pursued and are having a relative degree of success. His driving force is to start a ministry and do Gods work with all sincerity but the true spirit behind his pursuit is to provide for himself, protect himself and feed himself, this is hidden from him because he is an orphan and he therefore makes the church became his financial resource. He will do the work and the Church must pay him a salary, because this is how God is supposed to take care of him and his family, right. Therein lays the deception of the Harlot. This mindset was never the mindset of the first disciples of Jesus Christ. They had a Kingdom mindset, not a Parish mindset.

So he puts all his energy into building this vision that God gave him by firstly setting up an entity of choice (tax exempt company with a Board of Trustees), and begins writing the Constitution of the Church like a spiritual thesis, specifically drawing an outline on how each Department within the Church should operate, to him he is writing the vision down and making it plain, so that he who reads it will run with the vision. The next step is the need for a building. By either buying or building one, with a few of his close friends and family that recognise that there is a call on this man’s life he begins, and make no mistake these men are called into ministry, but this is how they have been instructed to do it. All of this becomes the foundation for the erection of this Institution.

Matt: 17:24-27, And when they had come to Capernaum, those who collected the two-drachma tax came to Peter said, “does your teacher not pay the two-drachma tax?” He said “Yes”. And when he came into the house Jesus spoke to him first. What do you think Simon? “From whom do the Kings of the earth collect customs or poll tax, from their sons or from strangers?”And answering he said, “From strangers”, Jesus said to him, consequently their sons are exempt’. He then instructs Peter to catch a fish and pay the tax with the coin that he will find in its mouth.

This is a very serious issue here, because it speaks to the heart of identity. Jesus is dealing with two systems of Government here. The Worldly Kings of the earth do not collect tax from their sons; this means that strangers should pay the tax. Jesus was then saying to Peter, you are not a son of this system, so you must pay the tax, you are not tax exempt, and you are a son of the Kingdom of God, your Kingdom is not of this world, your sonship is of a heavenly system. Yet we see that most Church today operate on a tax-exempt entity, thus positioning themselves as sons of this worldly system. We are also keenly aware of how the Attorney General of the US Government has brought these so called Mega Churches to book for the apparent abuse of funds for their lavish lifestyles viz. Creflo Dollar Ministries, Joyce Meyer Ministries, T D Jakes Ministries, God the Father is shaking all that is not of His Kingdom, it will soon follow here in South Africa and around the world too.

You know that if you build a building and call it a Church, put fancy décor and a great worship team and a band then people will come. So after many prayer meetings, fasting periods, cake sales, mini Debutants Ball’s, Banquets, Youth Concerts and Fund Raising Programmes the building is built and the finished building becomes the first signpost that God is watching over his vision that He gave them. During this time the message that is preached is, “The Prosperity Gospel”. A “Building Fund” is put into place and over the next 3-5 years all activity of the Church is geared towards the building fund at the cost of the feeding the people with spiritual food that would bring them into mature sonship. This project has taken this ministry and its team many years to accomplish, by that time the local members have given till it hurts and have grown, businessmen in the congregation are promised “financial breakthrough” by telling them that, “the size of your seed will determine the size of their harvest”. This is all done in the name of the Lord and the minister is convinced that what he is saying is absolutely biblical and that he is doing this for the people of God, not for selfish gain. When you make finance and prosperity the gospel of your Church, it attracts more spiritual orphans into the Church.

Now if you are a non white Minister in a non white area, in order to attract the crowd you must teach on “Ways to Financial Prosperity”, because an orphan always want to know how to take care of himself, because he understands that it is him and him alone against the whole world, and he does not mind paying for what he receives in the ways of the message because, his spirit will not allow him to take anything for free, so therefore he gives as payment for what he has been taught and by so doing he gives as a slave and not as a son. Besides he is taught to give like a slave, in that he is warned that should he not give his tithes and offerings, then he will not have food on his table, shelter over his head and that the mouth of the evil devourer will eat all his wealth. This may be true if you are a slave, but as a son, the Heavenly Father gives to you these things freely, you tithe and give because you love your Father and are grateful for his providence and protection over you, these are two different mindsets. You will observe that this is prevalent among our Indian, Coloured and Black brothers, because they have a lack of Fathering in the things of God and historically have not had the picture of an abundant supply of the Father in their households growing up; they just lived from day to day. That same spirit is imported into Church culture and the stronghold grows.

In our White Churches that are now also being attended by the new generation of Blacks, Indians and Coloured, the Gospel is not prosperity anymore but how to, “Conduct your Behaviour as a Spirit Filled Christian”. This group have become fatherless through high incidences of divorce and separation and break up of homes. So they have never learned order and boundaries in a complete family unit, they have not known Government, hence they need to be taught how to not get upset while waiting in the queue at the Post-office, or not blow a fuse if they are in a traffic jam. They are orphans and their leaders who are also orphans feed that frenzy and thus attract the crowds, which in their eyes make them successful. This is truly sad, as a matter of fact this is a curse in action. These kinds of ministries have been making millions by selling their books, “How to live you’re Best Life Yet” & “Spirit Controlled Life is normal”. These churches are bursting with capacity and not one of them understands the richness of their inheritance as sons in the Kingdom of their Father. The dominant trait of an orphan is that he hoards and will dominate whatever he perceives to be his resource. He cannot receive truth that will jeopardize and threaten his supply, his protection and his livelihood and so he will reject the Word of the Lord by discrediting the postman, or the sent one. When that happens, what he hears to be wrong will be re-enforced with other counter-scriptures and people who hold the similar point of view as himself and thus form a network of orphans. At this point he has traded his inheritance & blessing for a bowl of soup to feed his flesh.

Jesus said, “You cannot plunder the house of the strongman unless you first bind up the strongman”. The strongman is a Pattern of Thinking that has for many years created residence in your mind and has now become a principality. “We wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and rulers of these dark ages in high places (mind)”. So you first have to dispel the principality by Truth and replace it with a new principle like, “seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added on to you” and “The just shall live by faith”. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

Many people will read this and agree with what I am saying because of an internal witness of the Holy Spirit of the Truth but will refuse to do anything to change. Some will try and partially morph what they have been comfortable with for these years with the Truth and will lose the truth in the process and return to their old ways of thinking and still others will hear this and be entirely happy to change completely. Jesus said it like this, if you don’t change completely or refuse to change then that strongman will return with seven more of his friends and now the mindset has evolved into a more sophisticated stronghold, and will thus hide the deception in more sinister and complex form than before and at this stage the person is worse off than when we first encounter the principality because now he is in self deception.

I speak against these things because we are living in a time when these things must be said and God the Father will not prematurely judge this situation until sufficient warning has gone out into the Church. Then when He does judge, it will be nothing short of righteous and just judgement. Grace and mercy has been dispensed from the throne of the Father in this season for those who will heed His voice and turn from their wicked ways, so that he may heal the breach, the heart of the Father is that none should perish and that he has sufficient grace to bring you back. Today if you hear His voice, harden not your hearts.

2 Corinthians 18-21, Now, all these things are from God who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the Ministry of Reconciliation, namely that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them and he has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore we are ambassadors for Christ and though God were entreating to us we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Ezekiel 34: 1-10, then the word of the Lord came to me saying, son of man prophesy against the shepherds of Israel, prophesy and say to those shepherds. Thus says the Lord God, Woe, shepherds of Israel who have been feeding themselves. Should not the shepherds feed the flock? “You eat their fat and clothe yourselves with their wool, you slaughter the fat sheep without feeding the flock. Those who are sickly you have not strengthened, the diseased you have not healed, the broken you have not bound up, the scattered you have not brought back, nor have you sought for the lost, but with force and severity you have dominated them. They were scattered for a lack of a shepherd and they became food for every beast of the field and was scattered. My flock wandered through all the mountains and on every high hill and my flock was scattered over all the surface of the earth and there was no one to seek for them, therefore you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord, “As I live declares the Lord God, surely because my flock has become prey, my flock has even become food for all the beasts of the field for lack of a shepherd, and my shepherds did not search for my flock, but rather the shepherds fed themselves and did not feed my flock, therefore, you shepherds hear the word of the Lord, Thus says the Lord God behold, I am against the shepherds and I shall demand my sheep from them and make them cease from feeding my sheep. So the shepherds will not feed themselves anymore, but I shall deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be food for them”.

The Church must recognise that she has departed from the purity of the first century saints and is in walking in gross deception to such degrees that it is now personifying The Harlot of the Book of Revelation. You cannot serve two masters you will either, love the one and hate the other, you cannot serve God & Mammon. The spirit of the orphan can and will only serve Mammon. In the end you will have to decide to either preserve your life or lose your life, all this financial shaking in the World is the Lords doing to separate the sons of the Kingdom and the sons of Disobedience. The Church is blinded by the drying of their coffers and is having more financial conferences, they are not teaching the people to understand their sonship and the Fathers provision in the Kingdom. Orphan leaders are telling people not to concern themselves with the message of Fathers and sons, it is insignificant in their spiritual growth.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, their word of their testimony and they love not their lives even unto death. That is the company that will overcome Satan’s deceptive devices. Sons learn how to live in the dessert from day to day and are comfortable with their Fathers supply; because it is the dessert that you learn that man shall not live by bread alone.

This message is for those who want more than just to be a part of a Mega-Ministry, it is for those who want more than recognition, position and religion, it’s for those who have recognised that something is wrong with the Church and can feel deep call unto deep, to a higher life of a son in the Kingdom of their Father. For those that are spiritually frustrated with being under an orphan leader who has abused his authority, and know that it’s a dead end road for your gift and calling to the Body of Christ. For all that feel that they have been abused, and hurt by leadership because of the misunderstanding of your intentions. Arise, shine for your light has come, the glory of the Lord has arisen upon you. Leave now, the Kingdom awaits your arrival, for it is the Fathers good pleasure to give you the Kingdom.
