The Thing about the Roman Catholic Church

Updated on April 5, 2012

The media calls them Christian. They call themselves Christian, so it must be true right. The bible says in Matthew 7: 15-20 "Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? Even so, every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit; neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them."

Therefore, with this biblical criterion we can judge and discern who is of God.

Look at the fruits of the roman catholic church. In their beginnings to increase membership and to gain more money, they adopted many pagan rituals (cannibalism, December 25th Christmas, Mary worship, priest celibacy, the "infallible" pope, the church is true the Bible is false, more recently evolution). Frequently in the news, we read about homosexual and pedophile priests getting exposed for abusing teens and children, and the cover up actions by the catholic church.

Based on the criteria and facts the roman catholic church is a very corrupt organization, drunk on their own power and greed. Their teachings and traditions are unbiblical, heretical and blasphemous. I'm not saying that individual Catholics can't be Christian, but the Roman Catholic system is work of the anti Christ. Roman Catholics believe things about Jesus, but do not believe in Him alone for salvation. Rather, they trust in the unbiblical roman catholic traditions and deeds. They also trust in their "good" works, water baptism, taking the Lord's Supper and "Mass" instead of believing in Jesus alone as Jesus and the Bible tell them to do. Roman Catholicism is a false anti-Christian religion. There are sheep’s and goats, Jesus will claim His sheep and throw the goats aside.

Roman Catholic atrocities, especially those late in the Middle Ages, can be denounced by Protestants because they claim (rightly) that the Catholic church was corrupt and not following the teachings of scripture. Not only that, the Catholic Church are on record as persecuting those Protestants considered genuine Christians, even before the Reformation. Protestants broke from the Roman Catholic Church that was called The Protestant Reformation. The reformation leaders stood for biblical authority, and translated the Bible from Latin into German because they felt the common people should have the Word of God to read for themselves instead of relying on priests and popes to interpret it for them.

In John 12:48, Jesus says that it His word, not the church, not tradition, sacraments or good works, but His Word which will be the judge for the one who hears and rejects it. Who was right Jesus Christ, or the catholic church?
