Shadow Beings, Paranormal Entities

Updated on November 1, 2016

Fear and Uneasiness

Ever wonder why humans as a whole have an undeniable fear of the dark? When we are young our parents teach us that there is nothing to fear. "There is no monster in the closet or under the bed. It's just your imagination." As we grow older we tend to ignore those feelings of uneasiness and of being watched simply because that is what we are taught to do. But what if there is a reason to fear the dark? What if there really is a monster in the closet or under the bed?...

Shadow Beings

Most Shadow Being sightings can range from a simple two-dimensional shadow, to a three-dimensional shadow containing mass. They usually stay at the edges of your vision and can move from one part of the room to another in a split second. They are very fast and when looked at directly they either dissipate, merge into a wall or flee to another section of the room. Some theorize that the beings are being playful when they do this. Almost as if they are playing "Hide and Seek." They are humanoid in form and lack both eyes and mouth. Though, some claimed to have seen a shadow being with red or yellow eyes. Most people tend to have a feeling of being watched or one of uneasiness.

What Makes Shadow Beings Different From Ghosts?

In my experience ghosts have a more ethereal look. They are usually a dim misty white color, with more detail than a shadow being. Most ghosts are seen full on and usually don't jump around on the edge of your peripheral vision. Shadow beings on the other hand are like shadows molded into a humanoid shape. They are black and can move much faster than a ghost. I have never seen one full on, only on the edges of my vision. Though, I've never heard of anyone being harmed by one, they do bring with them negative emotions.

Astral Projection

Some people believe that shadow beings may quite possibly be people that are having out of body experiences. This is an experience that typically involves a sensation of floating outside one's body and, in certain cases seeing ones own body.

Time Travelers

Another theory explaining the existence of our shadowy friends suggests that they are time travelers. Perhaps they are from the future, have gained the technology to travel back in time and view past events. They could merely be observers from another time period, hoping to garner information from the past.

This theory suggests that we are being visited by aliens, with the intent on studying us and our habits. There have been many reports of alien sightings and abductions throughout the years. If a race has developed the technology to travel millions of light years to our planet, it is not inconceivable that they could create something that hinders our perception of them. Hence why we see them as only shadows.

Another Dimension

What if these beings are from another dimension? Is it possible that there are other dimensions parallel to our own? If that is so, then is it fair to suggest that these dimensions may sometimes leak into our own? Perhaps what we are seeing are very faint glimpses of beings living on another plane of existence.

Most skeptics would shrug off these sightings and attribute it to an overactive imagination. It isn't uncommon for things to be seen just on the edge of your peripheral vision. But why then, does it leave you with such a strange feeling? Like that of being watched, observed... Is it possible that these shadow beings are real? Are they one of the many predators we need to fear in the darkest hours of the night? Unless you're a hardcore skeptic, our minds tend to lean towards the paranormal once everything "normal" has been debunked. So, what could these shadow people be if not a product of our imagination?

What do you believe?

This is a spirit box used to communicate with the spirit world as some believe. I have used one myself and I have to say, it was an interesting experience. You flip it on, ask it some questions and actually get a response back. It was awesome, made the hair on the back of my neck stand up...

I don't think the majority of them are evil per se, I think they are just so alien to our generally limited understanding that the easiest conclusion we come to is of malevolence.

There have been many interpretations of shadow figures, such as that they are ghosts or spirits that have not yet crossed over, demons, extraterrestrial beings, and essences of people as they are having out of body experiences.

I also wrote a hub about shadow figures/people.

      Voted up and interesting!
