The Unsaved Believers within the Church System

Updated on December 5, 2016

There are a people on the fringe that church goers despise. These people do not go to “church,” or celebrate Halloween, Christmas. They do not have support a salaried pastor, nor tithe their hard earned money to him. They will usually be at home sleeping in on Sunday mornings under no obligation to attend a certain building run by clergy members.

In contrast, there are the church goer’s whose lifestyle is about doing works in the name of Christ. They will get up early and attend a church service every Sunday morning to listen to their pastor speak upon his pulpit and tithe at least ten percent of their hard earned money to him. They love the worldly holidays, as they are big celebrations in the church, and many look forward to participating in all the activities that are offered in "Jesus’" name in hopes more people will come in to fill their pews.

Unfortunately, the second group are going to be extremely disappointed one day, even though they have been busily doing their religious works and activities in Christ's name. In fact, they are going to be rejected by him although they professed to believe in him. They will be deemed unacceptable to inherit the Kingdom of God.

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘LORD, LORD, DID WE NOT prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and DO MANY MIGHTY WORKS IN YOUR NAME?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WORKERS OF LAWLESSNESS.’ – Matthew 7:21-23

Simply Believing is not Enough

Christ our Savior examined the works of organized religion while he was on the earth and deemed them as flawed because they had mixed the holy and profane together. Today, in similar manner many believe that they can redeem pagan activities by attaching the name of Christ to them. They fail to recognize that the mixing of the holy and profane is an abomination to our Father in heaven.

“‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! So, because YOU ARE LUKEWARM, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth. For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked. – Revelation 3:15-17

These religious people are naked devoid of wearing any wedding garments.

And he said to him, ‘Friend, HOW DID YOU GET IN HERE WITHOUT A WEDDING GARMENT?’ And he was speechless. Then the king said to the attendants, ‘BIND HIM HAND AND FOOT AND CAST HIM INTO THE OUTER DARKNESS. In that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ For many are called, but few are chosen.” – Matthew 22 :12-14

Many fail to understand that to simply just believe in Christ will not save them. Satan believes in him too. He knows the he exists and is our Lord and Savior.

You believe that God is one; you do well. EVEN THE DEMONS BELIEVE—AND SHUDDER! - James 2:19

A true follower of our Messiah not only professes him, but they put their faith into action. It is about being obedient to what he says. If you aren't, you are not saved.

“IF YOU LOVE ME, you will keep my commandments. – John 14:15

“Why do you call me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and NOT DO WHAT I TELL YOU? – Luke 6:46

Belief in Action

You cannot remain in God’s love if you are disobedient. The false gospel of love that is preached today is a sham. It is "another gospel," do not buy into the gospel that tickles ears and appeals to everyone.

IF YOU KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, YOU WILL ABIDE IN MY LOVE, just as I have kept my Father’s commandments and abide in his love. – John 15:10

The counterfeit gospel of love is disobedience and is the highway to hell because it says the Christ accepts and loves you just the way you are. Many profess Christ, but sill remain in their sinful lifestyles believing they are accepted just the way they are.

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF. - Matthew 22:36-39

To be a true believer, it requires the action of good fruit. The modern church has too much in common with the self-righteous religious leaders of Christ's time on earth. Their activities revealed the rebellious nature in their hearts towards him.

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and DOES THEM will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. – Matthew 7:24

We are to have a belief in Christ that leads to action and the result is growing in the grace and knowledge of him. It is not just lip service, but genuine walking out of salvation to the glory of our Father. This is not about the practicing of religion in a building to get praise affirmation from the people within it. We must make the appropriate changes and heed the above Scripture verses. We are to obey God rather than conforming to man and their traditions. If we don’t, we will miss out.

The people mentioned in the first paragraph of this article may seem to be "unsaved" because they do not fit a particular religious template that requires them to do something to be recognized by man in order to be accepted by God. The fact is, because these people do not partake in the the building called church, they have time to study the word of God for themselves and hear His voice. They do not like to hear the loud religious voices speaking to them, but desire instead to hear and be guided by the Holy Spirit. God is able to show them many more things than all the years wasted in an man's oppressive religious institutions. They have been freed from the prison of religion because the truth has set them free. They can come to God without any man as mediator to learn the vastness of His truth with more clarity.

In addition, they are free to volunteer in the community without pay for the love of their neighbours. There is no need to go up on stage to show off their works in the church building, or receive the accolades from man as they know it is detestable to their Lord. They are simply content to work behind the scenes as they knows God sees all that they are doing for Him. They will never give any money to a salaried pastor, or celebrate the abomination of mixing the holy and with the goal to fill more seats and offering plates.

Their love for God shows in their character, habits and attitude in not only believing, but following Him as well. They know that everyone that is doing the same easy religious ceremonies week after week are on the wide path to destruction because it negates the spontaneous leading of the Holy Spirit.

“Enter by the narrow gate. FOR THE GATE IS WIDE AND THE WAY IS EASY THAT LEADS TO DESTRUCTION, and those who enter by it are many. For the gate is narrow and THE WAY IS HARD THAT LEADS TO LIFE, AND THOSE WHO FIND IT ARE FEW. – Matthew 7:13-14

The true followers of Christ are often persecuted by the religious zealots who love to attend their special buildings. The religious crowd deems them to radical, and even "unsaved" because they do partake in their man-made programs steeped in man-made tradition.

The true believer in Christ knows that they are not to acknowledge man’s relative opinions, but what God’s word tells them to do. They understand that following Christ is not adhering to a ritualistic religious lifestyle and professing, “I believe in Jesus,” but are a people who act (action) on God’s word. Salvation is not following a religion, but doing the will of God.

The Distinction

There is a distinction between a believer and a faithful obedient servant. A "believer" will belong to a denominational church building, tithe their ten percent and profess the name of Jesus. In contrast, a faithful obedient servant is someone completely different. Reading the words of Christ will make the distinction crystal clear.

Are you willing the search for these truths in Scripture for yourself?

You may be shocked by what you read.

The PowerPoint was excellent. The third slide mentioned, "if you can't recall when you were saved/repented, you probably are not saved." Sorry, I probably shouldn't put quotation marks above as I am only paraphrasing.

Amen! I say to all people who put J. MacArthur on a high pedestal, go and listen and/or read his testimony on his own site. The man is deceived AND a deceiver. There was no repentance in his life! Never! And he freely admits to it. Even Phil Johnson's (the interviewer) reaction to this revelation is, "hmmmm."

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to read. Blessings.

I believe you are on to something. Just like you, my journey of understanding of the end times is by reading Scripture for myself. The Holy Spirit is the only one who can give understanding. As we continue to dig deeper, the dots begin to connect. You make some interesting points. Thank-you.

Thanks, correction made. The reason I have issues with "pastors" is they are representative of their own kingdoms. Their kingdom is the "church" building. The true representative of God's Kingdom will be a faithful, obedient servant.

Therefore repent. If not, I will come to you soon and war against them with the sword of my mouth. - Revelation 2:16

From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. - Revelation 19:15

There is still a chance to repent, but like you said, "Will they listen? Maybe - maybe not, but at least they've heard." As representatives of God's Kingdom it is imperative the urgency to get the message out.

From that time Jesus began to preach, saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.” - Matthew 4:17

“Repent” is critical. To "repent" means to withdraw from our religious activities that utilize the ways of the world and discontinue them. It is to ask for forgiveness with an attempt to make the right changes.

PandN- I need correct myself. In my above comment I quoted the verses as saying Kingdom of God instead of Kingdom of Heaven. It's my err but you are aware it has the same meaning.

PandN- Again, you have written another great Hub. We are not like modern churches we see to day. Taking the time to study the word of God for yourself is most important. For example a few days ago I was studying the bible in the book of Matthew in Chapter 24 in regards to the Olivet prophecy. This is in regards to Jesus prophecy of endtimes. Once I reach the endof the chapter I begain to read chapter 25 in which Jesus starts with a parable of the Kingdom. However what caugh my attention was something I had not notice before. Chapter 25:1 (NLJV) states: " THEN the Kingdom of God SHALL BE LIKENED to 10 virgins........ " I found this to be odd. Because this first parable implies what the Kingdom of God is like after the Olivet prophecy. If you note there is another parable immediately following the parable of the 10 virgins. In Matthew 15:14- which staters out:" For the Kingdom of God IS LIKE...........". This second parable immediately following the Olivet prophecy implies the presence tense whereas the first parable implies the future tense. I had not noticed the differnce before. This is something I have now found to be every interesting.

I am going to continue to study on this matter that I have discovered, but the point here is self study of the bible. False churches want their " members" to be blind and not study on the own. They want their "members to be aware and study their own agenda and doctrine. The don't want "members" to discover the truth of God's word on their own. Because they may discover the falseness of the modern church that has been leading them into the spirit of Babylon.

      God bless brother.

I believe Matthew 24:21-23 should be Matthew 7:21-23. Anyway, that verse always reminds of a pastor at my aunt's funeral. He said that this woman (my aunt) "knew that she would be in Heaven with the Lord when she died. Her faith was so great. I hope that maybe someday I can have kind of faith." I know you don't think much of pastors to begin with, but this guy had no idea what salvation is about - and he should have as a leader. Unfortunately I think this true in most cases which backs your thoughts here. If the leaders aren't saved, how can the people be saved? I love your picture under the reconsideration section. It says so much.
