The Written Word is Important
The Communists in Viet Nam
Many years ago, and I am talking many years ago, I read a story about a Christian missionary talking with, if I remember correctly, a North Vietnamese communist. The latter person was telling the missionary that they and their ideology would win out over the Missionary’s beliefs.
The reason he gave for this upcoming victory was because the communist party in general was spreading more literature than the Christians were. It is true that the written word has a lot of influence.
But for Christians that is not necessarily the case. We have to live the Christian life correctly to show that our written words are worth the paper they are printed on.
We need to write
Christians do not stop writing. If you look at the list of books Dr. John Macarthur has written or Dr. Craig Evans, you would see that they have authored a lot of books and articles.
Their works do a lot of necessary explaining of the good news, christian life, archaeological discoveries and more. They are not alone as many Christians leaders have penned a lot of books over the years.
Sometimes people do not have the time to listen to a sermon, have a biblical discussion and books allow them to get the information they need when they have the time.
Books are good. Even my website theologyarchaeology has placed 2 new books on its pages that should be read. Reading books and articles is one way top learn, grow in the faith and obey Paul’s charge to Timothy to get knowledge
How else can you do apologetics
One of the biggest complaints atheists and other non believers have is that Christians are not educated nor know their own Bible. That is not a good reputation to have. Believers need to be knowledgeable if they are going to remain strong in the faith.
Also, they need to learn the truth correctly so that they can defend their beliefs and win souls to Christ. Getting the right knowledge is vital to a good Christian life. A believer has to go with the truth which will some times put them at odds with their denomination’s stance.
The truth is never easy because so many people just do not want the truth. They are comfortable in their own little niche in life. That can be sad as the lost opportunities to help lead someone to Christ are too many.
The key is
The key is to get the right books and then ask the spirit of truth to guide you to the truth. Then be honest about following that guidance. Being educated and knowing what you are talking about are very important.
The information will help in so many ways. Also, as the photo above shows, those objectives will make you stand out from the crowd and be noticed. Having the truth and using it wisely, is more important than a majority of earthly treasures.

I will be sure to post a link to your site on my social media accounts!
Congrats on your book publishing accomplishment! That is quite a feat! Smart to put the link in the comment section because Hubpages never seems to allow anything in the article body that actually helps writers on here prosper!
Your succinct points are well-made. People perish for lack of knowledge, and too many Christians are buying into the dictates of culture because they don't know what the Bible says about important topics. The truth is what sets people free.
Whoops! I skipped right over that link cause it said sources which didn’t mean anything to me. I didn’t realize it was a link to your books!
I will definitely look into them, thanks for pointing out my oversight, duh :-)
Short and to the point! A great read David,
Dr. John Macarthur is one of my favorite pastors and authors. He and R.C. Sproul are two from whom I have learned much from their books and I love to listen to them. I saw a video clip of the two of them explaining why Protestant Christianity and Catholicism could never be united based on the fact that Catholicism’s written doctrine on Sola Fide is that anyone (all Protestants) who believes in it is anathema as expressed in the council of Trent which defines Catholic doctrine. Eye opening!
These two guys really have it together!
