The are going to conspire against you.
History repeats itself.
In Joshua 9 verses one and two all the kings conspired to destroy the Israelites.
Satan uses the same technique against you. He will bring circumstances, pressure or advice to try to overwhelm you and crush you in your walk with God.
It could be peer pressure at school; come on there’s nothing wrong with smoking a joint or having sex before marriage. It could be your boss, asking you to fudge the numbers just to get an account or fellow workers bugging you to go out and get drunk at the bar after work.
It could be circumstances. Come on, the cashier mistakenly undercharged you, don’t go back, it’s her own fault. Besides, the store makes lots of money, they won’t miss it. It could be advice. Listen, there’s a good stock at a great price, so what if they use child labour and slave labour. You will make lots of money and greed is good. Hey man, its okay to take money from your moms purse to buy a new cd. She owes you. Hey dude, so what if you’re married, it’s just a little flirting (you know, most affairs start out as just a little flirt and don’t intend to go any farther?)?
So there is your gang fight.
The world, the worlds way is being selfish.
The flesh is a desire to please ourselves with an inner desire.
And of course, there is bad ol Satan.
It’s stronger than you and will crush you.
So how can you defeat it with something or someone stronger?
Alliance with the Lord brings sure victory. Read your Bible, memorize and carry Bible verses with you. Associate with Christians, constantly pray. Watch Christian TV and movies. Listen to Christian music.
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:37-39 New International Version
Yes, maybe you will not be popular at work or school. Here’s a little tip for you students. Ask anybody who has gone to a school reunion what the cool kids look like after say twenty years? Do you want to end up like that?
Yes you may even lose your job. You know, there have been times like that that happened to me. I ALWAYS got a better job and was glad to be rid of the last one.
What you lose God will repay in generous amounts.
Besides, how many people get caught being dishonest and have their lives destroyed and even imprisoned. How many marriages are destroyed because of affairs? How will that affect your children?
Doing what is right and refusing to do what is wrong may not make you popular with the “in crowd” but it will make you very popular with Heavens crowd. Joseph- Anthony: Green
