The Festival of Ganesha in India
Hinduism is known all over the World for its deep rooted traditions. In this hub, I'm going to write about such a festival which has special significance in the life of Hindus. The festive season has just begun in India. All festivals are celebrated by everyone irrespective of one's background with great enthusiasm in India. Elephant headed God Ganesha is one of the most loved and worshiped deities in Hinduism.The festivity goes on for 10 days every year. These fun filled 10 days are welcomed by all hindus with a warm heart. Children worship and pray to him for scoring more marks in exams as blessings from him. Elders pray to him for success, prosperity and well-being. On the first day of this 10 days festival, people bring idols of Ganesha home, decorate it with flowers, offer sweets, worship him with mantras, light lamps and burn incense sticks. They also invite family and friends home. The festival is known to bring people more closer and bond as a community.

Lord Ganesha gives wisdom, knowledge and success to all
In Hinduism, it is believed that Ganesha is the God who can bless humanity with all kinds of auspiciousness and help them to lead a good life. The elephant face of Ganesha shows his power of concentration, supreme level of wisdom and alertness of mind. People pray to God for blessings in the form of faith, devotion, purity of mind and good actions. Ganesha is the remover of obstacles. People worship him before starting any new venture. When a devotee worships with a pure heart, the Lord removes all obstacles from his path and showers fruits of success over him. A true devotee of Ganesha is always blessed with success, happiness and prosperity. Ganesha big ears reflect his patience in listening to the prayers of his devotees. He listens well and solves all the problems of his worshipers. Students seek his blessings for acquiring knowledge and succeed in the field of Education. Ganesha is loved by one and all making him the most adorable God of Hindus.

Huge pandals with idols of Ganesha are erected all over the city attracting thousands of devotees to offer their prayers to God. Loud music, shopping stalls, food joints and smiling faces all around the pandals, make it a very grand affair.The day number 10, is a holiday in the city of Mumbai. All the idols are taken out in a massive procession and are immersed into the Sea. People as they bid 'Good Bye' to their favourite Lord, they take a promise from him, that he has to return next year to bless all his devotees.
