Prayer is an exhibition of one's faith.Five daily prayers established a believer's direct and strong communication with Allah.

The five pillars of Islam are the basic rules that every Muslim must follow .

  • Core beliefs
  • Practices of Islam.
  • Foundation of Muslim’s life
  • Frame work
  • 5 obligatory duties

SHAHADAH (declaration of faith)

The very first requirement to declare one’s faith in Islam is to pronounce Shahadah.

It consists of two fundamental beliefs of Islam; Shahadah the declaration of Faith. First part we declare that there is none worthy of worship except Allah, it contains the affirmation of the Oneness of Allah. He is worthy of worship, He is a Lord and Creator, A Supreme Power.

In the second part, we declare that Muhammad (saw) is the Messenger of Allah. In this part, the affirmation is made of the Prophethood of Muhammad that he is the prophet of Allah.

5 daily obligatory prayers that are prescribed by Quran and Sunnah. The second pillar of Islam literal means to supplicate and to pray

ZAKAH (poor tax)

Obligatory charity due upon a Muslim’s annual savings with 2.5%. The literal meaning of Zakat is Purification.

It generates a sense of devotion, worship to Allah's sympathy with poor needy and destitute, and love for fellow beings. It is the backbone of the Islamic financial system. It circulates money in all classes of the society.

As Prophet said,

"keep up prayer and pay zakat." It is also known as with different names such as poor due and poor tax as well.

SAWM (fasting)

Muslims abstain from food, drink, gambling, smoking and all sensuous pleasures from sunrise to sunset.

Fasting literally means abstinence or abstain from drinking, eating and all sensuous pleasures from Dawn till Dusk. Fasting is a compensation on repentance, it is as prescribed by the Quran,

“O’ believer fasting has been prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may attain piety.”

As Prophet said, that

“ fasting is Shield against sin.”

it's a sign of obedience. If you do not stop yourself from speaking ill and from telling lies and doing wrong when you are observing the fast for those Allah mentioned in the Quran that He does not require your hunger and thirst.

HAJJ (Pilgrimage)

The pilgrimage to Makkah. It’s an obligation only for those who are physically and financially able to do.

Hajj literal means to set out to make a pilgrimage. It is the last and fifth pillar of Islam. Pilgrimage to Makkah is obligatory if and when circumstances permit. Hajj is the beautiful combination of all obligatory worship such as you get closer to Allah(SWT). You experience the Spiritual journey to Holy Kaaba

As Prophet said,

" Nothing but Paradise is the reward for an approved pilgrimage to the Holy Kaaba."

The purpose of five pillars of Islam

To discipline Muslims, To reinforce the ties of brotherhood and to strengthen the Muslim’s faith. These acts of worship requires your participation with your soul, your body, your emotions, and your energy.

Salah literally means To “supplicate” and To “Pray”.

The word prayer is an English word which is translated as Salah It means it's a type of prayer however the linguistic meaning of the term salah is

to call out, to beseech or perhaps to supplicate and then the deeper meaning of Salah which means a set of actions and deeds or statements and sayings commencing in a specific way with the " Takbeer" and ending in a specific way with the "Tahreem" and "Salam."

Let's see what is salah:

Whenever we stand before Allah we review that what message has been given to us. Salah is a responsibility to refresh our self constantly 5 times a day regularly. It revives us physically and spiritually whenever we offer salah we maintain a strong link with Allah, so it's the center point of our Ibadah. We cannot maintain the link without connected with Allah. If you will take it as a gift of Allah then you will realize its value, so we should perform Salah on time only, not hurriedly not carelessly or not neglectfully.

Salah gives you a complete mechanism like Salah is a bridge that connects us with the Quran and with your Lord.

Holy Prophet (saw) said,

“If your Salah is not good then the whole life of a believer is not good"

Salah is the heart of your Ibadah it fixes all the problems of a Muslim Ummah. I would like to share some facts and figures about Salah.

The command to offer salah has been mentioned 700 in the Quran. The word Salah comes 67 times in the Quran and Salah with Zakat comes together 32 times in the Quran.

Prophet (saw) said,

"The first question will be asked to you in the day of judgement is about your salah.”

So you cannot leave your prayer intentionally or purposefully as Prophet said,

"Whoever leaves his Salah purposefully they cannot call themselves Muslim those in the fold of Islam"

Do you want to achieve success in your Life?

Every time 5 times a day you are invited by the Allah(SWT) through Azan "Come to prayer , Come to success so if you want to get success say yes to the call of Allah (SWT) this is the invite from Allah to receive success
Every time 5 times a day you are invited by the Allah(SWT) through Azan "Come to prayer , Come to success so if you want to get success say yes to the call of Allah (SWT) this is the invite from Allah to receive success

Worldly benefits of Salah:

If you go for worldly desires of salah, it beautifully spaced out. Scholars proved that,

"Early to bed, early to rise makes a man healthy wealthy and wise."

so if you wake up for fajr prayer Allah automatically makes you healthy wealthy and wise it's high time to focus Salah makes you free from anxiety and depression it gives you a fresh look and glowing skin.

Salat is against Evil. It washes away your sins

There are different types of stretching postures are involved in Salah like in 12 rakat of namaz is equal to 30 minutes of light exercise which is recommended by health experts.

Preparations of Salah

Offering prayers without wudu is haram (unlawful)

Prophet (saw) said,

“Key to Paradise is prayer and Key to prayer is purification."

So before offering Salah you need proper purification as Allah said,

"Allah does not accept your prayer without purification."

In Islam, Taharah means purification means the removal of the state of ritual impurities as well as physical impurities as Allah said,

"Allah loves those who keep themselves pure and clean."

It means Cleanliness, Purification ,Cleansing and removal of impurities.

Holy Prophet (saw) said,

•“Purification is one half of faith.”

•“Purification is the key to Prayer”

Spiritual Taharah (Inward cleanliness)

Spiritual taharah is the cleanliness of the mind. İf somebody isn’t spiritually clean or if the person had committed Kufr, Shirk or major hypocrisy their physical taharah ısn’t accepted which means spiritual taharah is more ımportant than physical taharah.

Physical Taharah( Outward Cleanliness)

Removal of Physical impurities from the body, clothing, place of worship

Means of Taharah

The Holy Quran commands Muslims to remove the state of ritual impurity by performing ablution and taking bath with water or in absence of water they should attain the same goal of ceremonial cleansing by the use of dust.

Earth and Sand

In the absence of water, clean and tidy soil (earth or sand) was ordained to be a substitute means of ritual cleansing.

To be able to physically clean ourselves we first need to know which kind of water we can use and for what reasons.

Pure Water:

It is the water that preserves its natural characteristics as Allah created it. Its natural taste, smell and color hasn't been altered with and it should be in its natural form. It is good for Ibadah and daily chores.

Examples of Pure water

•water of rain, sea, river

•water of well

•water derived from the melting ice

•water derived from the melting of hail

•water from a spring

•tap water

Impure Water:(dirty water)

Water mixed with impurities that change its natural characteristics.
