Unexplained ancient and modern UFOS
An ancient alien?
U F O’s and crop circles seem to me to be a modern phenomenon that has only been reported since the industrial revolution. Before this time people who saw lights in the sky, or anything that couldn’t be explained put it down to fairies, ghosts and spirits. Their beliefs in these things are rooted in the folklore and religions of the time. A primitive time with many Gods would believe that a light in the sky was a sign from them. Whereas we believe it is a weather balloon. However if you remove the interpretations of these events are we left with anything very different? If you sit on the fence about these things you must admit that there have been an awful lot of hoaxes and liars throughout the ages. Perhaps a few too many!

- Why we will never see an Alien.
Whether aliens are real or not has become a rhetorical question; rather, why are aliens still kept from the majority of mankind?
Ancient astronaut theory
What most people, who follow this theory, believe is that one or more alien races visited Earth in the distant past and interacted with early humans. They believe this because some primitive cultures developed advanced technologies very quickly and then returned to basic technologies in a short period of time. The fact that many cultures talked of their Gods coming from the sky adds to the ancient astronaut belief. Also adding to their claim is that Darwin’s theory of evolution is still lacking the missing link, making them wonder if aliens assisted human evolution through cross breading or genetic engineering. I think the key word here is theory. Until someone can prove either theory the matter will remain open to debate. So what material evidence is there to support this claim?
Could this be a Landing strip for an UFO?
The Nazca Lines
The high desert of Peru holds one of the most mystifying monuments of the known world, the massive-scale geoglyphs known as the Nazca Lines. These lines carved into the ground range from geometric patterns to drawings of different animals and stylized human-like forms. The ancient lines can only be truly understood, from high in the air, leaving generations mystified as to how these precise works could’ve been completed long before the invention of human flight. Were these lines signs left by an alien race? Could they be Landing strips for UFOs? Or were these so called ancient people far more advanced than we thought and capable of human flight

The Tassila mountains murals
The Tassili N’Ajjer National Park, is in the Tassili N’Ajjer Mountains, it is a World Heritage Site in Algeria and are situated in the depths of the Sahara desert. It's an enormous crystalline plateau with black lava, cones from a volcano and narrow gorges with prehistoric paintings. These paintings date back to Neolithic times and have some very weird images. Watch the video and towards the end are some kind of humanoid forms wearing what seems to be space suits.

U F O's in art?
To also support the theory of ancient astronauts are the appearance in some artwork of unexplainable images. I must admit that a lot of these images could be explained by fading of the paint, or a wrongly placed building, but I was amazed at this web site below at how many anomalies there are in art that look like spaceships or aliens. Please click the link and see what you think.

The fake photo
Who today believes in fairies? Not many I bet. Still in Victorian time they were big news, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle: the writer of Sherlock Holmes, was a great believer and was involved in the Cottingley fairies. Two girls involved were photographed with fairies in their garden. Later when the girls were elderly they both admitted that the first few photos were fakes that they perpetrated with cardboard cut-outs held up with hat pins. However the last photo they both insisted were real and that they only did the hoax in the first place because they had seen fairies in their garden before. So why admit to faking the first ones but not the last. They had nothing to loose if they said they were all fakes. Throughout the middle ages there were reports that people had been abducted by fairies and replaced by changelings. A bit far fetched I think, don’t you? But these reports led to several prominent people to investigate fairies for themselves. “ In 1907 anthropologist Walter Evans-Wentz began to journey through Brittany, Cornwall, Scotland and Ireland to interview people who had encountered fairies. Some witnesses told him that fairies are noble and tall and looked like humans except for their luminosity and/or translucence.” Is there some similarity here to the ‘aliens ‘of today?
The earliest evidence of a crop circle
“Mowing Devil” case of 1678, in which a farmer’s field was said to have been visited by a devilish entity that trampled the crops down in a circle. Not just trampled, but trampled into a circle. Why a circle? If it was a disgruntled peasant why not just flatten it? It would also seem that the original pamphlet has been tampered with.

Lights in the sky
Lights in the sky
Lights in the sky or U F O’s have only been around since man has been airborne, yes? Well no, One of the first written accounts of this phenomenon is from the reign of Thutmose III, who reigned around 1504-1450 B.C.: "In the year 22 of the 3rd month of winter, sixth hour of the day... the scribes of the House of Life found it was a circle of fire that was coming in the sky... It had no head; the breath of its mouth had a foul odor. Its body one rod long and one rod wide. It had no voice. Their hearts became confused through it; then they laid themselves on their bellies... they went to the Pharaoh... to report it. His Majesty ordered...
[an examination of] all which is written in the papyrus rolls of the House of life. His majesty was meditating upon what happened. Now after some days had passed, these things became more numerous in the skies than ever. They shone more in the sky than the brightness of the sun, and extended to the limits of four supports of the heavens... Powerful was the position of the fire circles. The army of the Pharaoh looked on with him in their midst. It was after supper. Thereupon, these fire circles ascended higher in the sky towards the south... The Pharaoh caused incense to be brought to make peace on the hearth... and what happened was ordered by the Pharaoh to be written in the annals of the House of life... so that it be remembered for ever." This must have been a powerful event for the Pharaoh to muster his army and to make sure it was recorded for ever. Or perhaps they were lying for some absurd reason. To me it seems they were just recording what they had seen. Or how about the Roman author Julius Obsequens who recorded events in his book “Prodigorium liber" in the 4th century A D. Some of these events could have parallels’ with modern U F O sightings. Here are just a few of the things he reported. "Things like ships were seen in the sky over Italy... At Arpi (180 Roman miles, east of Rome, in Apulia) a 'round shield' was seen in the sky... At Capua, the sky was all on fire, and one saw figures like ships... In the territory of Spoletium (65 Roman miles north of Rome, in Umbria) a globe of fire, of golden color, fell to the earth, gyrating. It then seemed to increase in size, rose from the earth, and ascended into the sky, where it obscured the disc of the sun, with its brilliance. It revolved towards the eastern quadrant of the sky.

When I began looking at these modern phenomena I honestly didn’t realize that these things have there roots so far back in time. I know some of these things can be dismissed as over active imaginings of primitive times, but I don’t think they all can. By researching these things it has certainly opened up my mind and I hope it does yours.
