The worst thing about being human is .................... Is being human.

Updated on June 2, 2017

Humanity is our worst characteristic.

It is quite easy to get caught up in our own little world. Sometimes the very worst thing about being human is actually just being human. More often than not we cannot avoid our humanity, human frailty, selfishness and very sinful nature. It could be a simple thought that goes through our mind. It does not have to result in an actual action but it keeps us so very far from God. So very far from Him. There is not a single thing about being human that is holy. Not a single thing. Nothing at all. We are no where near where God wants us to be. Rather, we are as far from that as you can be just in our everyday lives and just by being ourselves. Sinners through and through, that is who we are. We indeed become our own worst enemies. Our Lord on the other hand, is absolute perfection. He is free of sin and gives His own life to be the ultimate interceder for our sinful selves. Sometimes it is quite baffling to realize the scope and sincerity of His love for us despite us being in the way. Yes, truly we are in the way and become barriers to His perfect love. Lucky for us He forgives and even forgets our sin and makes it possible for us to spend eternity in Heaven with Him. When it comes to our Lord, He is on a very short list. He is on a list that encompasses Him being the ultimate sacrifice for our sin. He is the One on the list who gave His life so you and I might be saved. It is the only thing that saves any of us. It is indeed divine grace that saves us. He is the definition of love and He exemplifies His love through the sacrifice on the cross. If only we could comprehend and understand the enormity of His love. Maybe then we could get closer to Him and try to be more like Him. Knowing all the time we will fall mightily short of His incredible example. Even with all of our human shortcomings, He still adores us. In my own life I have been fortunate enough to experience and feel the magnitude of His love knowing all the time how much I disappoint Him. It is quite humbling when you realize you have been given this incredible gift from God that you realize you do not deserve. We are not even close. No way and no how. Below are a few verses that illustrate His disappointment yet He still loves us so completely that it is truly amazing. It is grace beyond words when you consider His disappointment in us yet willingly He sacrifices His life for ours. Blessed be The Lord.

Matthew 15:19 For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witnesses, blasphemies.

Luke 14:34 Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned?

Matthew 24: 14 For many are called but few are chosen.

Genesis 6:6 And The Lord was sorry that He had made man on the earth, and He was grieved in His heart.

Luke 19:42 If you had known, even you, especially in your day, the things that make for your peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes.

God bless always.
