Spiritual Contamination - Have You Been Exposed?

Updated on February 19, 2015

What Is Spiritual Contamination?

Spiritual Contamination

What is a spiritual contaminate?

A spiritual contaminate is anything that would cause a person to become spiritually unclean.

There are people (friends, family, associates) that can cause spiritual contamination.

Music, television, the Internet, and environments that can cause spiritual contamination.

If the church that you attend has spiritually unclean leadership, then you can probably guarantee that you will become spiritually contaminated.

Accursed items in your home (pornography, pictures, figurines, other trinkets, occult books, etc) can pretty much guarantee you some spiritual contamination as well.

This series of studies will explain [in some ways] how each of these topics can cause spiritual contamination. If this causes conviction, GOOD!!! Repent, and ask Holy Spirit to guide you into truth. Ask God to deliver you of all spiritual toxins keeping you from His destiny for your life. And, ask Him for the help you need to fulfill His Kingdom destiny for your life.

I encourage EVERYONE reading this to do YOUR OWN research on this subject. The information is out there.

Accursed Items

Joshua 7-9 tells about a man named Akon. I'm going to sum up the story, but I encourage you to read the entire story for yourself; it's quite interesting.

Akon was from the tribe of Judah. He was part of God's army led by Joshua. They were winning battle after battle. God told them to go the city of Ai (pronounced eye), and plunder the king's treasure. They were instructed to destroy EVERYTHING, and keep nothing for themselves.

Suddenly they started losing battles. Joshua was perplexed, frustrated, and disheartened by this. He didn't understand why they were losing. One day he got down on his face, [dejected] and asked God, "why are we losing?" God told him, "GET UP. There's sin in your camp..."

Joshua went through all the tents of the people in his camp until he came to Akon's tent. Akon finally admitted to taking some treasure for himself. Unfortunately, he and his entire family were killed. After Akon and his family were destroyed along with the stolen “treasure” God’s army started winning again.

Now this story is an extreme example of a spiritual contaminate. When God asks you not to do something, it's for your own good. This one seemingly harmless thing caused soldiers to be wounded, and killed because of one man's disobedience.

He thought no one saw, but God sees. Because of Akon's disobedience he, and his family had to die.

Everything we do affects someone else. When you're committing those "secret sins" you are hurting others. You're hurting your family, and your descendants. You open the door to the spiritual contamination of self, and your family. And, if untreated via deliverance you will become spiritually diseased. There's another word that the Bible uses called curses, and they are all caused by someone's disobedience.

Exodus 20:5, says" Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;"

Disobedience IS serious! No man is an island all to himself. Your disobedience and narcissistic behavior will curse your descendants if you don't repent, renounce, and resist.

Just because it feels good doesn't mean you should do it. There are consequences.

You cannot be free of contamination in your home, body, and/or family with accursed items in your possession. Demons are territorial. They have legal rights to stay with those items still in your possession. When you keep such things, that is a sign of agreement with them.

Joshua 6:18 says, “And ye, in any wise keep yourselvesfrom the accursed thing, lest ye make yourselvesaccursed, when ye take of the accursed thing, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.”

Deuteronomy 7:26 says, “Neither shalt thou bring an abomination into thine house, lest thou be a cursed thing like it: but thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a cursed thing.”

If you have accursed items in your possession, please get rid of them. If you think that you might, and are not surethem ask Holy Spirit to reveal them. Then get rid of themquickly. Delayed obedience is disobedience, and it's only to your own detriment.

Please stay tuned for part two of this series on spiritual contamination. The book is also in the works. Please also visit http://www.theworkfromhomeadvisor.wordpress.com for home remedies, recipes, and other bible study information like this.
