There is but one RACE .............. The Human Race.

Updated on June 9, 2017

One Race ..... THE HUMAN RACE.

The only race that we need concern ourselves with is the human race. You know the whole do unto others thing. God loves all of us the exact same. It is the only race that means for us to love one another just as He has loved us. In light of the riots in Baltimore, the situation in Ferguson and the severe unrest that exists all over the world, I have chosen this week to write about race. Once again I will refer and defer to overall history. Did you know that prior to the sixteenth century ( 1500's ) that there is hardly any mention of race whatsoever. Certainly there were wars and battles between nations taking place and more often than not they had economic ramifications regarding land ownership and ultimately money and power. Two things to this day that become so culturally important to us for some reason. We can truly become so very lost from what God intended. The same God that created you also created your brother.

Christian values, however, tell us that greed and disdain of any kind will not serve us or our fellow man in any way. If God loves all of us the very same should we not I turn love each other. Jesus tells us to love one another as He has loved us. Why do we seem to have such a problem doing this? Are we indeed that selfish? All of us come from a multitude of different backgrounds. After all the real Americans were the original Indians ( the red men ). Yet, we assign some kind of value based on skin color, ethnicity, religion, locality, education, socio-economic status and so many other futile and meaningless characteristics. We are a real mess and there is no doubt about it. Being a Christian is more than a word or a good deed. It is in fact having Christ in us. Do you think any of this would be pleasing to Jesus after he gave His life on the cross for ALL of us. The answer is absolutely not. No way and no how.

Maybe if we understand that our lineage traces back to one man, Adam. So, in essence, we are only hating on our brother when we act out in violence and disregard for each other. I will not even begin to try to understand the specifics of these cases but I would offer that each and every one of us needs forgiveness no matter what the circumstances are. Our job is easy as we simply need to repent and believe but in doing so also comes a responsibility to lead by example and to honestly and sincerely be the very best person that each of us can be in every single situation. My prayer would be for ALL of us to come together as a people and as a nation ... God's nation. He has indeed done the hard part all we really have to do is repent and believe. Here are some verses to consider regarding race..... the HUMAN race:

Job 10:12 You have granted me life and steadfast love, and your care has preserved my spirit.

Jeremiah 1:5 Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a profit to the natIons

Revelation 14:6 Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of Heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth- to every nation, tribe, tongue and people.

Psalm 127:3 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.

Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

God bless always.
