They Will Know We Are Christians by Our Love ... by Our Love.
Love is everything!
It has been said that love makes the world go round. What an understatement! Where would any of us be without love? Probably really lost. So without it I think we would be in troube. The love that we share with each other is so very powerful, joyful and more than that the love we have for the Lord makes all the difference in our lives. God does indeed love us so very much. Love is indeed everything. Knowing just how much God loves us and then in turn loving Him back certainly makes all the difference. It truly does and it manifests itself in how we treat each other and ultimately love one another. You come to the realization that the same God that made you made another. The very same God which makes all of us brothers and sisters. We are not so very different we just think that we are. God is so very good that often it is difficult to contemplate the magnitude of His love for us which is completely and absolutely enormous. Perhaps difficult for many to even understand. His love is downright enormous and completely awesome.
The greek term agape love is often used when describing the kind of love that God has for us. It is an unconditional love that truly has no bounds. It is the kind of love that all of us should strive for but only God is capable of because He does not have the human limitations that we are subject to. Our human selfish nature only gets in the way. We are actually in the way. We need to understand that ultimately we cannot and do not love in the same capacity that He loves. We try and we ultimately fail. We are given the greatest example of all in that Jesus loved us so very much that He went to the cross to pay for our sins. So, indeed if we are to manifest that Christian love then we need to love thoroughly with all of our hearts and put our selfish needs aside and think of others before we think of ourselves. Can you put the needs of another in front of your own? Very difficult to do most of the time but completely necessary. Even to forgive each other and even to forgive what we might define or label as unforgivable. There is no such thing. If God is willing to forgive you of all your sins and He says He will not even remember them. In turn we need to forgive our brother and moreover we need to love them completely and wholeheartedly with absolutely no hesitation or limitatio. When you truly love someone it becomes the greatest feeling in the world. Live by example and most importantly, love by example. How will they know we are Christians? They will know by our love. It truly does not get any better than that. Here are some verses on God's incredible love:
Psalm 86:15 But you, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, long suffering and abundant in mercy and truth.
John 10:17 Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life that I may take it again.
Romans 5:5 Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
1 John 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
God bless always.
