Trust in the Holy Spirit

Updated on September 11, 2012
Source

You have back up.

When the Advocate comes, whom I will send to you from the Father —the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father—he will testify about me. And you also must testify. John 15:26-27

Trust the Holy Spirit to work in their lives while you are taking with them. When you want to testify about Jesus to family, friends or co-workers do not face it alone. Try this: before you testify to anyone about Jesus FIRST ask the Holy Spirit to direct your words to have an effect on them and for Him to move their spirit to be open to Him.

"May the grace of Christ our Saviour,|And the Father's boundless love,|With the Holy Spirit's favour,|Rest upon us from above." — John Newton

Everyone who is a Christian has experienced a time when the Holy Spirit was talking to them. Maybe it was during a sermon or talking with a Christian friend or listening to Christian music or reading a Christian book. Just as He spoke to you, so too can He speak to someone you are sharing your faith with.

Restlessness and impatience change nothing except our peace and joy. Peace does not dwell in outward things, but in the heart prepared to wait trustfully and quietly on Him who has all things safely in His hands. Elisabeth Elliot

Prayer: Holy Spirit guide my words and actions that they will bring praise, honour, glory and the little lost sheep to Jesus. Move the hearts of those listening to be receptive to what is being said. I ask this in the name of the biggest mover of hearts, Jesus Christ. Amen.

May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.

      Hi Helen.

I am happy to have encouraged you.

It is my habit to always try to close my eyes and ask the Holy Spirit for guidence before opening my mouth. It works wonderfully.

You take care too little sister (in China we call those younger little sister or brother, those older big sister or brother. Children call older people uncle or aunt. They call old people garndpa or grandma).

      You are absolutely right, TEACHERJOE52,

The Holy Spirit is important and we should not forsake His counsel at all. To do so would be a sin.

Good thoughts and guidance, Teacher Joe. I have found that prayer before speaking or acting, asking His Holy Spirit to to open your eyes and the doors, allow God to work. Great wisdom shared. THanks.
