Unlocking the Order of Events in the Book of Revelation

Updated on May 26, 2020

A key that unlocked the order of events in the Book of Revelation is revealed in parables.

The First shall be Last and the Last First is the Key

I will not be able to explain all that is needed to be known within this single article regarding the order of events contained in the Book of Revelation. It will require a number of articles on this subject to explain in detail how events in the correct order will take place. Most of what is going to be explained will go against the standard endtime teaching and doctrines of many christian teaching on this subject. I am not just throwing this out there with out giving you some background of how I learned what I will explain in this articale and others that will follow this one over time.

It should be understood that I have never attended formal Bible college or Universaty, nor have I attended any seminary training. But I've relied on my understanding of scripture based on 25,000 plus hours of study of the Holy Bible over a time piriod of 20 years with much reliance on the Holy Spirit to guide me through all that I now know on this subject and many other subjects throughout the Bible. It should be made clear from the start that I do not claim to know everything. I do not believe it is possible to know everything in the bible in one's life time. But I firmly believe the events described in the Book of Revelation is not in the order that many theologians and endtime clergy teach.

I will back up my understanding of the order of events through scripture to support what I know to be true. And so I begain.

I am going to assume that most who will read this article will already have at least some basic knowledge of the Book of Revelation with regards to the Seven Seals, Seven Trumpets and Seven Bowls. What many fail to mention when teaching on this subject is there is also Seven Thunders that is almost never mentioned. This is found in Revelation 10:3-4.

Revelation chapters 6 through chapter 7 reveals the order in which the Seven Seals are opened. It is then followed by Seven Trumpets found in Revelation Chapters 8 through chapter 11. It should be noted at this point that the Seven Thunders are mention in two verses of Revelation 10:3-4. There is a reason for this which I will attempt to explain in a later article. Contained within Revelation Chapter 6 through Chapter 11 are endtime events that will directly affect the Nation of Israel (Children of Israel) and Gentiles living at THAT time.

Now completely seperate from the event mentioned or described above are the Seven Bowls revealed in Revelation chapter 15 and 16. also Chapter 19 described Jesus return with wrath.

I am sure that what follows from this point on will surprise many, but I ask that you follow this to the end of this article. Because what is about to be explained has never been explained that I know of but I can and will support my belief through scripture.

The Seven Bowls will happen or occure FIRST in the endtime events, this means Revealation Chapter 12 through 20 will occure First.

The endtime events described in Chapters 6 through Chapter 11 will occure Last.

This First and Last will now be explain.

Jesus stated the following in Matthew 19:28-30 NKJV: So Jesus said to them, "Assuredly I say to you, that in the regeneration, when the Son of Man sits on the throne of His glory, you who have followed me will also sit on twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel. 29 And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or fathers or mothers or wife or children or lands, for my name's sake shall receive a hundred fold, and inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are FIRST will be LAST and the LAST, FIRST.

Now note the direct correlation between Matthew 19:verse 30 and Revelation 10: 9-10 NKJV: So I went to the angel and said, "Give me the little book. And he said to me "Take it and eat it, and it will make your stomach BITTER but it will be SWEET as honey in your mouth.10 Then I took the little book out of then angel's hand and ate it, and it was as SWEET as honey in my mouth. But when I had eaten it my stomach was BITTER.

Now note what we have here. The word Bitter is FIRST mentioned in this verse and SWEET is mentioned LAST in verse 9. Now look at verse 10, the word Sweet is FIRST and Bitter is mentioned LAST.

So here is what it would look like.

Verse 9 Bitter First

Sweet Last

------------------------------

Verse 10 Sweet First

Bitter Last

Immedately following Vesre 10 it says this in verse 11 And he said to me."You must prophesy again about many peoples, nations, tongues and kings.

Basicly what the angel had just told John in verse 11 is John had to continue prophesying, he was to reveal event that he later described in Revelation chapter 12 through 20.

So this is what the order of events that will happen:

Revelation chapter 12 through 20:1-9 is FIRST

then

Revelation chapter 6 through 11. is LAST

I recommand you read the parable in Matthew 20:1-16 which also mentions in verse 16 the following: 16 So the LAST will be FIRST and the FIRST, LAST This prarable is also a direct correlation of Revelation 10 if you understand the parable which at the beginning states...............For the Kingdom of heaven is like. And in my next artical on this subject I will explain the parable in Matthew 20:1-16 to make it more clear to make it easier to understanding.

I will be writing a follow up to this article to further explain in more detail of what will happen in endtime events.

God bless to all

Lifegate, again thank you for your comment. No I don't believe they could be intertwined. And here is the reason I think this. Most theologians believe that the 144,000 mentioned in Revelation 14 is the same group of the 144,000 mentioned in Revelation 7. But they are two seperate groups. If you intertwin the Seven Seals, the Seven Trumpts and Seven Bowls of Judgement, then the two mentioned 144,000 would be the same group.

Thank you for your question and comment.

    Again many blessings.

Thank you, KC. I'll be looking for your next hub. I also wonder, is it possible for the 7 seals, 7 trumpets and, 7 bowl judgments to be intertwined? I love the book of Revelation but do struggle with the chronology.

Many thanks for your comment. The main point of my article is to explain my understanding of the order of events with regards to endtimes. Most Theologians and many clergies who teach on the subject of endtime events teach basicly the same order in which they believe events will occure. The order runs something like this. First, the Seven Seals followed by the Seven Trumpets and then inserted between the sixth and seventh trumpet is the Seven Bowls.

What I truely between is something completely different. I believe first will be the Seven Bowls followed by a long pause, then second will be the Seven Seals, third, followed by the Seven Trumpets.

I will explain why I have this belief. If you look at Revelation 11:7 NKJV it states this: 7 And when they finish their testimony, the beast that ascends out of the bottomless pit will make war and overcome them and kill them.

What I find difficult to understand is nowhere before verse 7 does it explain how this beast ended up in the bottomless pit in the first place. If you use the logic and timeline used by Theologians it woulmean the the beast ascending out of the bttomless pit would have to occure about the same Satan is thrown into the bottomless pit. This never made sense to me.

However, if the Seven Bowls are FIRST in endtime events and the Seven Seals and Seven Trumpets followed after then it makes sense. In other words the beast in chapter 11 is Satan discribed in chapter 20.

This is just one of many reasons why I believe Jesus gave us the key when he said in Matthew 19:30 NKJV: 30 But many who are first will be last and the last, first.

If you have question of me, I be more than happy to answer.

    Blessings

I realize this is a far differnt approach interperting the Book of Relation. As I stated in my article I plan to explain in as mach detail as I can the parable in Matthew 20 1-16 with correlates directly with Revelation 10: 9-10 which I believe will make even clearer what I'm saying.

I thank you very much for taking the time to read this and for providing your comment. I hope you will follow my future article(s) on this subject.

Peace and many blessing to you.

Eric, your comment is exactly right. John was taken into the future which is confirmed when Jesus said the following in Revelation 1:10 NKJV: 10 "Write the things which you have seen, and the things which ARE, and the things which will take place AFTER this.

If you are in the future looking back you see the things that ARE or has happened. Then, to also write down the things that wil happen after this.

So what is revealed by John are things that DID happen already looking back from the future and things that WILL happen which are things or events to come.. THIS is a very important point.

And has much to do with FIRST and LAST.

    Thanks Eric.

Marecelo, thank you for your comment. If it was just these scriptures alone that I have quoted, then I would agree with you. But if you followed and understood the parable that Jesus mentions in Revelation 20:1-16 and the Olivet Prophecy found in Matthew chapters 24 and 25 you might ,then, agree with me. Please note, there are two parables mention in chapter 25 that are directly related to what Ihave describe above in this article. One short example. Jesus says in Matthew 25:1 NKJV: THEN the Kingdom of heaven SHALL be likened to..., but immedetly follow that parable Jesus states another parable in Revelation 25 verse 1 in part: The Kingdom of heaven IS like.

So in these to parable you have future and current. There is much more to explain which I plan too in future articles.

    Again, thanks for your coment.

Marcelo the question is if to be a prophet you actually must exist in the future. At least at the time of prophecy. The conscious of the author of Revelation could not relate it unless he was there.

Hi, thanks for sharing! I think you have spotted and interesting similarity between Matthew and Revelation in regards to the order of the words FIRST, LAST, BITTER, and SWEET. However, although a similarity exists, it may be difficult to point out why these two passages are related to each other. I am not sure there is a reason for this passage in Revelation to be pointing us to that passage in Matthew: (1) the passage in Revelation is more similar to Ezekiel than Matthew, and (2) the passage in Matthew has to do with the reversal of social status, whereas the passage in Revelation has to do with the nature of prophesy. So I don't think there is a correlation between these two passages. Well, that's what I think. Blessings to you!

A worthy perspective. I tend to let others explain Revelation.

(maybe it is a different area of English language that I am not familiar with --- Articale instead of article. )
