Untimely Death

Updated on February 11, 2011
Jesus said, " If you are embarrassed about me, I will be embarrassed about you in front of my Father."
Jesus said, " If you are embarrassed about me, I will be embarrassed about you in front of my Father."

This will give you bad dreams!

Death is certain, but the Bible talks about untimely death.

Galatians 6:7

Be not deceived, God is not mocked. For whatsoever a mans sows, that is what he shall also reap.

Consider some men and women who mocked God.

John Lennon

During an interview with an American magazine, John Lennon said, “Christianity will end, it will disappear. I do not have to argue that. I am certain. Jesus was okay, but his subjects were too simple. Today, we are more famous than Him. (1966)

Lennon, after saying that he was more famous than Jesus, was shot six times. He died in the prime of his life.

Tancredo Neves- President of Brazil

During the presidential campaign he said if he got 500,000 votes from his party, not even God would remove him from the Presidency.

He got his votes, but he got sick a day before he took office and died. Struck down at the pinnacle of his life.

Cazuza- Bi sexual Brazilian composer, singer and poet. During a show in Rio de Janerio while smoking his cigarette, he puffed out some smoke into the air, and said, “God, that’s for you.”

He died at the age of 32 of Lung cancer, in a most horrible way, clawing at the air for breath. Funny how the death reflects the action. Wait, there is more!

Bon Scott- AC/DC Singer

On one of his 1979 songs he sang, “Don’t stop me, I’m going down all the way, down the highway to hell.

On Feb19 1980, Bon Scott was found dead. He choked to death on his own vomit.

Marilyn Monroe

She was visited backstage by Billy Graham during a performance. He told her the Spirit of God had sent him to preach to her. After hearing what he had to say, she said, “ I don’t need Jesus.”

A week later, she was found dead. She was only 36 years old.

The man who built the Titanic-

After the construction of the Titanic, a reporter asked him how safe the Titanic would be. With an ironic tone he said, “ Not even God can sink it.”

We all know what happened to the Titanic, it sunk on its maiden voyage.

Christine Hewitt- Jamaican Journalist

Christian said the Bible was the worst book ever written.

In June 2006, she was found burnt to death beyond recognition in her motor vehicle.

In Campinas, Brazil a group of friends, drunk, went to pick up a teenaged girl. The mother went with the teenaged girl to the car where her drunken friends waited. Worried, she said to her daughter, “Go with God, and may He protect you.

The daughter responded, “Only if He (God) travels in the trunk, cause inside here, its already full.

Hours later, the news came in that they were all killed in a fatal accident. The car could not be recognized, it was totally crushed, except for the trunk. The police said this was impossible. To their surprise, in the trunk was a crate of eggs, none were broken!

God will not be mocked!

Jesus said, “If you are embarrassed about me, I will also be embarrassed about you before my Father.”

Mock God at your own risk!

It has been 2 months now since Hub Pages has heard from you and I am quite worried. I have been patiently waiting for your return and have been visiting other "Hubbers" while you have been away...I hope you don't mind.

I am afraid, in your absence, that I have left a wake of destruction behind me because I am losing hope that you will re-appear. I was hoping to launch my own Hub Page by year's end, but I find little joy in that prospect if you are no longer here.

I think it would be fair to say that even though there are a number of talented writers and some really good people on Hub Pages, well, you are my cyber-sweetheart and it just isn't much fun without you. I just feel hollow inside and if you don't re-appear by year's end, I think I just might ride off into the sunset for good - won't "Trish" be happy to hear that.

By the way, the fellow named Earnest, who had a bitter hatred for God and referred to Our Savior as a "Psychopath", passed away one month to the day after we had shared a heated exchange at the tail-end of September. I just thought you may want to know that.

My thoughts and prayers are with you daily - L.R.

In fact, I do not remember having read any of his posts although he sounds like a very interesting gentleman. If this wasn't the case, I would tell you so. Besides, he couldn't possibly adore you as much as I do!!! :0)

      My Dove:

I have returned home, and even though it feels good to be home, it feels even better to know that you are alive and well.

You wrote: "I am sorry if I have offended people in any way, I am just telling you what I have seen. I am a Christian, but I am not into man made religions."

Precious one, you do not need to apologize to me or anyone else for that matter and I am certainly not offended. When I ask what you believe and you are honest and forthright with are held harmless! And, I think I can say that I understand you a little better than I did before...which is a good thing.

Indeed, there is a great deal of corruption within "Christianity" and without, I will agree. The problem is not the Christian doctrine or gospel message itself; it's the wolves in sheep's clothing that predate on Christ's little lambs and distort the pure Biblical message through selfish ambition which often manifests itself as a lust for wealth, power and control.

C.S. Lewis said there are only two religions in this world: Christianity and Hinduism. Within Hinduism, one can find all other forms of religion, except for Christianity. This is to say that Hinduism and Christianity repel each other and are not compatible with each other at all, whereas every other religion in this world can find compatibility and its origin somewhere within Hinduism.

My dove, I understand how you feel and you must know that I am likewise frustrated by all the wolves in sheep's clothing, but please remember Philippians 4:8 "Finally, beloved, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is pleasing, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things." And, if we don't follow this sage advise, we can get really depressed and our faith and hope can diminish as a result.

It is true that there are many "players" and "pretenders" out there, but it is also important for us to make ourselves available to those who are legit. Now, I say this as a man who has not gone to church in 3 years because of some of the same things you have mentioned. But, unlike many people who leave church, I pour over the WORD OF GOD consistently, pray earnestly, and continue to follow HIS path. I am looking for a church I wouldn't mind attending, but since I have encountered so many disappointments in the past - my effort in this matter has been somewhat half-hearted.

I understand that as long as people go to will be imperfect, therefore I feel as though I must grant some lattitude, taking the human condition into account, and I think Christ would want us to. I also know that The Lord has told us not to forsake meeting together and I am beginning to see why. Many of the stronger Christians have pulled themselves out of church leaving the weak to look after the weak, which makes the membership less accountable and more sickly.

It is also not healthy for one to stay away too long, because I have seen where otherwise strong Christians have been alone with their thoughts for too long and began to wander away from "the straight and narrow" thus falling into spiritual darkness and error.

Please remember, my precious flower, that Satan would love to harvest you for his own demonic bouquet and this becomes even easier when you are going it alone...not unlike your dashing man behind the mask. :0) Peace be with you and please keep looking up. - L.R.

Hello Lone Ranger, great to see you again. I have not been on here for a few weeks, so I am sorry I did not answer this comment sooner.

Yes, Lone Ranger, I truly believe that religion is the work of Satan. As long as you can read and you have a Bible, you do not need to get involved in any MAN MADE, mind control, money grubbing religion.

When you honestly look at religion you see a lot of evil. Look at the Catholics and the Mormons for instance. The Catholics did not even want people reading the Bible they wanted to tell you what was in there, they wanted to keep all that power to themselves. Rome is still trying to run the world and they have been doing a pretty good job of it too. There is nothing holy at the Vatican, believe me. Just read about some of the popes and what they were involved in. They also worship the Virgin Mary, who appears all over the world. Fatima was clearly some kind of UFO. BTW, Hitler was a devout Catholic, and the catholic church had all kinds of ties to the Nazis, but that is all hushed up of course.

The Mormon religion is really something else too. This guy said an angel came to him and told him all this nonsense, and people buy into this. Just look at what the power of religion has done for those people. They give away their 12 year old daughters for the sexual satisfaction of these demented sex fiends, it is totally sick, but just goes to prove what can happen when people are brainwashed and cannot even think for themselves.

Then look at all the TV preachers who take millions of dollars from old ladies.

Religion is a SCAM, and the more I know about it the less I like it. I could go on and on, but perhaps I will save it for a future hub.

I am sorry if I have offended people in any way, I am just telling you what I have seen. I am a Christian, but I am not into man made religions.

      My dearest Edelweiss:

Earnest and I just had a meeting of the minds. Remember him? He is the one who wrote an article which he entitled, "The God of the Bible is a psychopath." Poor misguided soul.

While reading his rant and those mindless drones who endorse his philosophy, I could not help but notice the face of one whom I love. Would you be willing to expound upon, elaborate, and otherwise explain the comment you left Earnest:

"You are right, religion is bad. I believe in God, I believe in Jesus, but I don't like or believe in religion. The Muslim believe that you must believe as they do, or they behead you! Look at the Taliban...oh...they are sooo religious. They make me sick, their evil hides behind religion.

I don't especially like the Christain religions either. It is one of Satan's biggest coups to inflitrate religion and make it less than holy. Every church I have been to has an agenda, and that is usually money! They could care less about the Lord.

I don't think anyone turned off by religion will go to hell. Leave the religion behind, embrace the Lord and Jesus."

My Dove, do you really believe all that? Please be honest with me...I want to know what you are really about and what you really believe. I promise I will be gentle with you and will not condemn you in any way, shape, or form. You have my full attention and I am only trying to understand your lovely mind and soul a little better.

By the way, I really enjoy your hub and all your articles, but sometimes I need a little clarification so I don't get lulled into thinking that I know someone better than I actually do. Peace be with you, my dove, and know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. - L.R.

You, of course, are on to something here, my dove! In fact, I had been thinking about this issue quite a lot recently...even before reading your thought-provoking hub. Hmmm. Brilliant minds do think alike! :0)

If one were to read Holy Scripture, one would come to the realization that The Almighty often punishes or blesses people according to their own deeds. In a real sense, His Majesty allows people to put either a wreath of roses about their necks or a noose.

For instance, King Herod the great, allowed his Jewish subjects to say that he was a god. Now, he didn't say this himself, but he didn't correct them either. Suddenly, Herod saw an Angel above him and knew this Angel of God had been sent to take his life and he blamed the people for what they had said. He suffered for four days being eaten alive by worms and then died after suffering an agonizing death.

Please also take into consideration what happened to King Nebuchadnezzar, who was cursed for 7 years to wander the land, growing out his hair and eating grass like an animal, until he gave The Almighty His respect and admitted it was God who gave Nebuchadnezzar his kingdom and power.

Time and again, one will read in the Bible about people dying because of their arrogance and indifference to The Almighty and His Son. Remember that those who live by the sword will die by the sword and, in the Book of Matthew Our Savior, Christ Yeshua (Jesus) said, "Judge not lest you be judged in the same likeness and the measure you use will be used againt you." - Matthew 7:1-2

It seems there is a spiritual law in place, whereby people will reap the crop they sow. But, The Almighty does not share His Royal Throne or glory with anyone, except His Only Begotten Son. So, insult The King of Kings and Lord of Lords at your own risk, "But as for me and my house, we will serve The Lord" - Joshua 24:15

One last little side-bar: I believe every man and woman, boy and girl, has an appointed time to meet death and there is nothing we can do to stop this appointment. Only once, in Scripture, did The Almighty lengthen a kings life by 15 years, but this was under extraordinary circumstances.

Now, although we may not be able to run from our appointment with death, I think there are a great number of things a person can to to hasten it; thinking oneself to be greater than God or desiring to be worshipped as God is a surefire way to meet Him promptly.

May God be with you all, and a special blessing to my lovely edelweiss for seeking the truth and for not being ashamed of her Savior.

I, too, have had near death experience. I find God to be the sweetest Spirit that you could ever imagine. The beautiful, gentle Spirit I met is more like a loving Parent. I know He is mighty and powerful and capable of great love for us as His children. As any parent feels toward a child.

I wonder if those people who met such ill fates were being stricken or caused to die in such awful ways by the evil spirits they were serving here on earth.

If those people allowed Satan to take over in their lives, they could have most surely sealed their own fate. I believe evil spirits cause death and harm.

God, our Father, is a kind and gentle Savior. He is the Creator of life and love.

BTW.. God IS a loving God. He doesn't condemn anyone. They condemn themselves by personal choice. If there wasn't a Hell, why would Christ need to die? Christ Jesus is the door to Heaven, but God isn't going to make anyone walk through it. That's why it's called free will. The choice is their own.

      God bless..

Jesus Christ taught the truth, and has been proven divine repeatedly. Jesus also said He is the only way to the Father. Those that don't see it, are attempting to disprove, rather than find the truth. Hell is real, and God bless you magnoliazz. God will not be mocked, just as the Bible says.

      Absolutely magnificent article. It's beautiful.

God does not punish people, people punish themselves and others. God is unconditional love..When my sweet little brother was killed at the age of 6, he appeared to my aunt who was a teacher in a catholic school. She said, he came to see the children. I was raised a Catholic, but I left those teachings of hellfire, and punishment behind.. I chose to read a book called the Course in Miracles,. and I chose to give love to someone I had perceived as a enemy. When I had the Thought of giving her flowers, I entered a state of Total unconditional love with God, that went in all night..God is a God of total LOVE and Joy.. Death is an illusion..It is not real, we are divine children of a loving God..

Spirituality is different for everyone I have been coming to the conclusion that God knows no one is perfect, what we have to to is "Be all we can be" I think God knows this and is not looking for perfection just IMPROVEMENT.... only then can we get into heaven I know the bible says believe and be saved I think you have to believe say you believe but actions speak louder than words-

I know people and have had dreams of my own where I am "me but " its not now- not 2011 I believe the soul gets recycled s we reach a higher level a better person- I don't like the word reincarnation its more of a spiritual recycling. I know thats not a christian concept but i think, the writers of the Bible were inspired by god but they were still human...

I do not doubt God but I do doubt humans interpretation of what "God" tells them- and the interpretation of scripture or inspiration- God isthe writer but we worked the pens

Interesting point in this hub. God is compassionate, even to those who mock him. Peter mocked God and went on to write a great portion of the bible.

God is in the redemption business, not in the business of killing everyone who mocks him.

I mocked God many times a a young woman, yet God drew me with His loving kindness and tender mercy and I now serve God and His Son as my Savior.

God is not as thin skinned as we humans. We can not be legalistic about these things.

Maybe God wants good people with him, and he does not want to wait, and they die young. Certianly many times, it seems as if the good die young, you and I know that from our own lives, don't we?

I guess there are some things we are not meant to understand when it comes to God.

Thank you AustinStar for stopping by and leaving a message!

I wondered why Lennon lived on for 14 years too, especially with the other examples getting the ax right away.

I am thinking God wanted Lennon to live on and realize that his popularity was not as great as that of Jesus after all. There was a great backlash for the Beatles after this comment, and indeed they did lose a great number of fans because of it.

Wow...I like your new picture! Very lovely.

Fucsia...Of course you are right, people blast God all the time and yet they live, however with these examples the first thing that I noticed was that the death was somewhat tailored to the comment made about God.

December 16, 2009 - Oral Roberts, founder of the university in Tulsa, Okla., that is named after him, died from complications of pneumonia at a Newport Beach hospital, family spokeswoman Melany Ethridge said. He had suffered a fall over the weekend.

John Lennon lived for fourteen years after "mocking God". Chapman (the guy who shot Lennon four times in the back) had "god-like" delusions of controlling little people and was a drug abuser and professed "Christian". He's still alive, but will also die some day.

Jesus Christ was 34 years old (or thereabouts) when he was tortured and killed for believing in God. He had committed no other crimes that I know of. All of his disciples are also dead, some even died in cruel and unusual ways.

It's weird what happens sometimes when we die, but sure enough, we will die. Whether or not there is an after-life is the question. We'll all find out someday.

Hello There NorthWind, Thank you so much for your interesting example of mocking God, it sends a shiver down my spine! Some of these things are simply unexplainable. I never could understand why we should fear the Lord, but I understand it now. He demands our utmost respect.

Hello Dreamreachout! An absoulute believer would go to heaven, no matter what age he died at.

I saw an interesting story on the History channel about people who died and came back again.

There was a young man, who did not believe in God. Without warning, his stomach started bleeding, and he was rushed to the hospital. He needed surgery right away, but the doctor would not be there until the morning. That night he died, and had an out of body experience. While in this state, demons started biting and hitting and yelling at him. These awful creatures were there to take him to Hell. At this point the guy got so desperate that he started saying the prayers he learned as a child at his grandmother's knee. Then he called on Jesus to help him. I already have goose bumps over the next thing that happened, immediatley, as he called on Jesus, this being of white came to his rescue. The demons ran away, and he found himself in the most beautiful place.

Jesus told him he had to go back and tell the world what happened to him.

And before he knew it, he was back in his body, waiting for his operation. After that, he turned his life around and became a preacher.

I have no doubt this account is not real. It also makes me very happy, because there are many really good people who simply do not believe in God, and I would hate to think they are actually going to hell.

The Bible tells us over and over again that God is a loving God, and I believe that.

This life that we are living now, it is just the beginning, there is so much more for us all in the spirit world, but first we have to learn and experience what it means to live in the devils domain, because, right now, Satan has control over the earth. That's why so many bad things happen here, killing and abuse of people and animals and even the earth itself.

Yes, God gives everyone a chance to get into heaven.

Woweee! You are going to have some comments about this one!

I heard one where a girl who had gone to church to please her mother decided to walk out. The preacher came up to her and said, let me pray for you. She said to him go to hell. The next day she went out to a party with her fiance in a car full of people. They got in an accident. She died instantly but there was not one scratch on any of the other passengers of her car or the other car.
