Using the "Social Networking Sites" to Transform Our World

"Pay It Forward" Bumper Sticker
- The "Pay It Forward" Bumper Sticker
What seemed like an ordinary car ride was anything but ordinary. First, my wife and I spotted a "Pay It Forward" bumper sticker on a truck, then a few hours later we went to a coffee shop and saw a sign that said "Brew It Forward." These synchronicit
You may not be aware of this, but everything you post on a social networking site is having an effect on the world.
A great many are not aware of this, because they only see it as an avenue to converse with friends and family, and nothing more. And don’t get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with that. I only want to suggest that it can be used for something more:
Imagine that you are feeling down, so you decide to go on one your favorite social networking sites in hopes of changing your mood. And lo and behold, there is a post that lifts you out of your gloom. It made you smile. It made your heart sing.
I have been noticing a lot of this on facebook lately. Positive and inspirational posts are coming from all sorts of people. When I noticed a message that touched my heart, I would re-post them so others could experience these wonderful messages as well. Then, if that wasn’t enough, I would see others sharing my messages.
If I was an outsider looking at this, it would look like crisscrossing waves of positive energy flowing from one person to another.
It is such a wonderful feeling to know that your post made a positive difference in someone’s life. It doesn’t matter how simple or complex the message is.
What matters is the intent!
Is it coming from the heart? Is it written with love? Does the message empower and inspire?
I am seeing a decrease in negative posts. People are tired of hearing the drama. It doesn’t really get you anywhere. However, a post that makes you smile and makes you feel better is incomparable. It creates a win-win situation for both parties. Everyone benefits from the act of kindness, even those that are just observing the kind gesture.
Those that get their kicks by writing unkind and hurtful comments are only hurting themselves. They gain nothing but negative karma. What they create will come back to haunt them later. We live in a Universe in which the Law of Cause and Effect is inescapable. What you do to others will be done on you. That is why it is so important to do good in the world. Treating others the way you wish to be treated is what it is all about. Harming others creates a lose-lose situation. It is a waste of time and energy.
The Power of Words
Our Posts and Comments Matter
For those that are interested in making the world a better place be aware of what you write, as this will have an effect on the world. If you want to see more love in the world, be more loving. Tell your friends and family you love them. Send them loving messages. For those that want to see more kindness in the world be kind to others. It is really that simple.
Doesn’t it feel wonderful to be appreciated and loved by others?
Personally, I wouldn’t enjoy a hateful or hurtful message that was sent to me, as this wouldn’t make me feel good. I have seen this in the past on different websites. These people think they are funny when they put others down, but as I said earlier, where do these unkind comments get them? Absolutely nowhere.
We may not be aware of this fact:
Our comments and posts are a form of communication between the writer and the reader. There is also an exchange of energy that is going on. The person that is sending a negative message is also sending negative energy. That is why a positive message is often uplifting, while a negative message makes us feel heavy. Negative people are draining, while positive people lift us up.
With this said, I want to make you aware that every place in which you can share a comment is your opportunity to make a difference in the world. It doesn’t matter if it is considered a social networking site or not. If there is a place on the website to leave comments or e-mail, then that is your chance to say something positive, and even if these two things are not available, your thoughts and intentions are multi-dimensional; they penetrate through time and space, traveling to the desired destination.
Before I go, I want to acknowledge all the positive support that is offered from kind individuals on Hub Pages. Many of the writers and readers are very supportive. I greatly appreciate all the wonderful things you do in making the world a better place. I greatly appreciate your inspirational words. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
