A Statue of Jesus with a Heart Beat and Warm to the Touch
My own Experience.
How my search for a Religious Magazine led me to an article about, miracles, moving statues, and memories. And a statue of Jesus that felt warm and had a heart beat, and a Rosary that turned from Silver to Gold.
How I met the owner of Dimples' Donuts and Angel Kisses.
"Shoppers Moved by 'Miracle' Statues."
Yesterday, Sunday, April 8th 2012, searching through a file drawer of interesting items saved from years ago, I came across an article dated Saturday, November 19, 1994, and was published in the Chicago Sun Times, by staff writer, Philip Franchine, titled "Shoppers Moved by 'Miracle' Statues."
Philip's article was the story of 'Angel Kisses'
Philip's article was the story of 'Angel Kisses' a religious gift shop, in Saint Charles, and I read about the miracles, reported about the store, and wondered why I had not gone there, I lived in Saint Charles, it was near the Church where I was married, to my present husband. I will be going there, I thought, as I read every word in the article, and I have a vague memory of visiting Angel Kisses, but don't remember anything else, or if my husband was with me.
Dorothy said that she felt a heart-beat
One lady, Dorothy, who was visiting the gift shop from Aurora, was pictured in Philip's article as she was touching a statue of Christ, and she began to cry. Dorothy said that she felt a heat-beat. According to Patricia Kulpin, the owner of Angel Kisses, said that, others had also claimed to feel a heart-beat when touching that particular statue.
The most amazing phenomenon, Mrs. Kulpin, said was when she received six clear plastic statues of the Virgin Mary, and when she was unpacking them on October 25th, and was putting Rosaries around their necks, they bowed their heads.
Some said they saw the hand of a small statue of Jesus raise
The reporter and several visitors to the little shop said that, although they did not see the statues move that day, but they all reported feeling a sense of awe and some of the visitors said they had seen movement by some of the statues on earlier visits. Some said they saw the hand of a small statue of Jesus raise, and felt warmth and a heart-beat from a larger statue of Jesus. Others said they just felt a heavenly peace.
I'm at peace here. It's like Awe-all powerful.
According to the Chicago Sun-Times reporter: Mike, a visitor from Batavia said, everybody in front of him was saying they saw hands change position, and saw heads move, but he did not see any movement. (The shop is small inside, and visitors have to form a line to go through.) Pat, of Aurora said on an earlier visit she had seen a woman's silver rosary chain turn to burnished gold. "I'm at peace here. It's like awe--all powerful. He [the Lord] is here for me." Pat said.
Patricia, the owner touched a drop of Holy Water to Joe's Knee, the pain was gone!
Another couple, Joe and Laura of Elgin came to visit Angel Kisses, Thursday, the day before the reporter, and again on Friday. Joe said he almost did not come back he had so much pain in his knee, and after Patricia the owner touched a drop of holy water to Joe's knee, the pain was gone.
I had been searching for a booklet, "Medjugorje Magazine"
This past Sunday, April 8th, when I came across the article, I had been searching for a booklet "Medjugorje Magazine," a friend Angie DeVincenzo, had copied for me in 1990. The magazine told about the people, who were making pilgrimages to a remote Yugoslavian village named Medjugorje, seeking Divine healing, miracles, or to simply find peace in their lives.
Later, that same year (1990), I had heard about "Dimples Donuts," the shop was in Batavia, close to my home, I heard or read, that the lady who owned Dimples, had a silver crucifix and chain that she or someone she knew had taken to Medjugorje, and it had turned from silver to gold.
I can't explain why, but Janice (my stepdaughter) and I both started to cry
The following day or days later, me, my husband and step daughter went to Dimples Donuts. I mentioned to her about her crucifix, and she graciously showed it to us. I can't explain why but, Janice (step daughter) and I both started to cry and we could not explain why. We did not go back for a long time, and then we heard that Dimples closed.
Then Sunday, April 8, 2012, I thought of Dimples, and then re-read the article from the Chicago Sun Times. April 10, 2012, I looked for the phone number of Angel Kisses and called the number. Patricia's husband answered and I asked if they still owned the gift shop, and he said yes. I asked if I could publish their story on HubPages and he gave the phone to Patricia.
I asked Patricia about publishing Angel Kisses story, and she told me about the miracles, healings, moving statues, and how couples who had been wanting a baby for a very long time, came to her shop. She told me about Pope John Paul's and Mother Theresa's receiving one of the statues. She told me about the Buddhist Priest, who was moved by what he saw and felt.
I said "WAIT! BACK UP!" Do you mean Dimples Donuts?
Patricia asked me if I had been to her donut shop, have I ever met you? She asked.
I told her I vaguely remember going there, but can't remember anything else. And I asked her when she opened the shop and she told me they had sold the donut shop, January 17, 1992, and April 1992 they opened the gift shop. I said wait! Back up! Do you mean Dimples Donuts? She said yes. I said, we have met, and told her about the visit to the donut shop, and the crucifix that she had taken to Medjugorje, and how both my stepdaughter and I had cried without knowing why.
This has been, a wonderful day. Maybe some of you will believe, maybe not.
If you believe, no explanation is necessary,
If you do not believe, no explanation is possible.
