The promise is given NOT to all peoples...

Updated on October 20, 2016

How can I connect with God?

The actual word "covenant," simply means an agreement...

....a promise

...a pledge

...a contract

I can almost say that we all, one time or another, have entered into an agreement with someone and in this agreement, a promise is made on each side; such as, if you do this job; I will pay you this certain amount...or if you promise to be true to me, I will promise to be true to you...or how about if you cheat on me, I will cheat on you!

Well, I can go on and on about agreements and promises that we make every single day! We even make promises to ourselves that we can't possibly keep and then how about try to remember them all! You will drive yourself crazy trying to fulfill promises!

But I have a question for you: When you make your promises...do you intend to keep your promise from the beginning and follow through with your word....or do you break your promise and compromise along the way?

We all know what it feels like for someone to tell you that they will do this or that for you, and then not do it. It is a disappointing experience and despite your horrible feelings about it; people will actually hold these types of things against you. They will remember every word and hold you to it and boy, oh boy, if you mess up! Your in big trouble! This error will go against you for any future references. They will say to themselves, "nope, he didn't keep his word before and he probably won't keep his word next time either...I don't trust him."

I think that perhaps the most wonderful thing about God is that He is not a man that He should lie. We don't mean to but we are human and we all fall short of God's word. Only He is fully able....Our God has the power and soveriegnty to keep all of His covenants and His promises to His people. From the beginning of time, God has been talking to man and making promises to (not everyone) but only to those who seek Him earnestly and follow the ways of God.

A peek of what Heaven will look like.....

Revelation 21:1-5

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.”

Revelation 4: 1-11

"After this I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven! And the first voice, which I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet, said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” At once I was in the Spirit, and behold, a throne stood in heaven, with one seated on the throne. And he who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian, and around the throne was a rainbow that had the appearance of an emerald. Around the throne were twenty-four thrones, and seated on the thrones were twenty-four elders, clothed in white garments, with golden crowns on their heads. From the throne came flashes of lightning, and rumblings and peals of thunder, and before the throne were burning seven torches of fire, which are the seven spirits of God..."

Revelation 21: 22-27

"And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there. They will bring into it the glory and the honor of the nations..."

Revelation 21: 21-25

"And the twelve gates were twelve pearls, each of the gates made of a single pearl, and the street of the city was pure gold, transparent as glass. And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb. By its light will the nations walk, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it, and its gates will never be shut by day—and there will be no night there."

Hebrews 11:10

"For he was looking forward to the city that has foundations, whose designer and builder is God."

How do we get back to God?

This is an eternal road...choose carefully which path you continue on because there is a way that may seem right to you...but God warns that the end of that path is death...that is....eternal death away from the goodness and mercy of our Father, God.

Psalms 14:1-4

To the choirmaster. Of David. The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good. The Lord looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God. They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one. Have they no knowledge, all the evildoers who eat up my people as they eat bread and do not call upon the Lord?

Isaiah 45:12

I made the earth and created man on it; it was my hands that stretched out the heavens, and I commanded all their host.
