Only the Lord Knows
The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things
revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow
all the words of this law.
- Deuteronomy 29:29
As In common cases when we do not know what lies ahead of us, we often think twice with a sense of uncertainty. We aren’t sure of what we will do. There is no firmness in our steps as we wonder what could be waiting for us there may be. There is that need in us that calls for assurance. We want to be able to have the feeling that everything will be alright. That things will go just fine is a matter that greatly sinks our very concern. As much as it can be so, we want to know as far as we can to be satisfied of a wonderful end. It has been an action for us to gather knowledge on a certain topic when our focus is set upon it.
Nowadays, it can be a convenient way to know as much we could of a topic that deals with our present state. There are many sources of information as far as we are concerned all around. Reliable means of acquiring the know-hows we need can be done in a few minutes. Books are always present by which we can flip the pages so simply or we can directly ask someone knowledgeable for the job. How to grow corn for example can be a suitable matter for the time being. In able to understand the concepts that lie behind it, we must look for the stuffs that deals with its growth. The factors that affect it should be considered and the way it should be planted is not out of the scene.
As it can be said truly, there are things that we ourselves do not understand. Some matters are just beyond what we are able. The great author of the book of Ecclesiastes tells us about this. We cannot see the path of the wind. We don’t where it is going or it came from. We can only feel its presence and we do not know how bones formed their shape in the womb in God’s own way. In the same way, we do not know the works of the Lord. He works in ways we cannot see. He works for the benefit of his children. He works in fulfillment of his plan for the times to come.
For the time being, we may not yet know what is ahead of us; we cannot see the stuffs that may be waiting or a hint maybe is not in our pleasant choice to take. Tomorrow may seem a bit blurry. No clear picture can be painted as of the moment. We can only wait for what would come and when it did come, we can be thankful for the wonderful revelation that it is.
One things is always certain though and that is his love for us. He loves us in a very big way that he sent his son Jesus in the world that we may be cleanse of our sins. He died in the cross only to take it up again. He has always been there for us though there may be times when we have let him down. And still, he looks forward to see the day when we can be with him where he is now. Have Faith in the Lord.
