Wolf and Werewolf ASCII Text Art
I posted about vampires in ASCII art and thought it was only right and fair to post about werewolves next. So often in paranormal fiction vampires and werewolves are pitted against each other. Usually any book about vampires will have werewolves too, somewhere along the way, or vice versa.
So, I was surprised to find far more ASCII art for vampires than there was for werewolves. Actually, after my usual search I had only found one werewolf.
Maybe people don't really want to think of wolves as being something so ferocious, violent and aggressive any more. I've always thought the old stories/ lore about werewolves came from the fear of real wolves back in the days when people were in real danger from predatory animals. We don't face that reality any longer. These days we have come to see wolves as a hero rather than a villain. Wolves are part of our history, movies and literature in positive ways. They have become more than a mouthful of sharp teeth snapping at the heels of Little Red Riding Hood and the Three Little Pigs.
Often, in the modern world, it is the wolves who are the victims. Habitats continue to shrink and whole populations of wolves have been brought to the door of extinction. Some will never be back again and some have already been forgotten by the common people. Do you know there was a native Tasmanian wolf?
Think about the legendary wolf as you skim these ASCII art wolves.
