What Did God Say? And Why Do We Do This...
These Are Apples
The Ten Comandments
Moses brought the stone tablets to his people to be read. There were specific rules on them. The rules of the times.
These commandments are located in Exodus 20 in the Bible. The Third Commandment says that you are NOT to make any image of anything and worship it instead of God. He was quite specific that the object was not to be made of silver or gold.
Okay - Musing Further
The most important piece of jewelry a woman or man can possess is a ring made of gold that holds one or a multitude of diamonds. The wedding ring, itself, has only been around since the 1940's according to an article I read on the internet. You know what they say about articles on the internet.... they are there... they MUST be true, right?
Well. Back to that ring that people wear. It is a symbol of your love and faithfulness. Anyone who wears one, has promised to stay married. No divorce if you are wearing a ring.
But, many people believe that once you are married, you become that person's property. Fathers pass their daughters to the next 'guy' in a wedding ceremony like they are handling property. So. What does that make a woman? A possession?
Adam and Eve
Adam and Eve are known to be the first couple. Adam was created and when he was sleeping, God took a 'rib' from Adam and made a woman, which the word means 'taken from man'.
So. Now, Adam has a playmate. But, Adam is expecting supper. Where's my dinner? [I can just hear him]
So, Eve gets this apple and gives it to him. There had been some snake there that told her it would be a good idea. She had no reason to doubt the snake and if the snake said it, it must be okay.
Okay. So this apple was consumed by them, apparently they ate it at the same time. They would have had to, otherwise Eve would have known Adam was naked before he knew she was naked and there would have been some sort of trouble.
Adam would have said to Eve... "why are you looking at me in that way? You are acting quite odd."
Obviously, Adam and Eve were not married, since there would have been no one to officiate the ceremony.
And, there would have been no ring, since I'm quite sure that Adam did not do metal working. He was more of a naturalist, spending his hours naming animals.
Okay. So. The first couple did not have a ring. They were not married. They got kicked out of the Garden for eating an apple.
A snake caused all the trouble.
You have been blaming a woman since the beginning.
The snake should be tried again. This is the cold case of the millenium.
Satan The Snake
About the Apple Story
According to Genesis 2:17, the commandment about the Apple was given to Adam before Eve was even around.
So. Adam already had heard of the warning about the forbidden fruit.
Yeah. It was in Genesis 2:22, that God took one of Adam's ribs and made a woman.
According to what I am reading, in Genesis 3:16, God gives marriage to woman as a punishment to her.
Yes. It says it: God's punishment to woman is that she will be consumed with sorrow. That she will be quite sad when she delivers children and her husband will be who she is attracted to and that he shall rule over her.
