Receive wisdom from above

We are spirit beings: we live in a body and have a soul. God created us in His own image after His likeness. When you begin to consider the fact of us being created in the image of God; it is mind blowing. But this not not the line of this discussion. As creatures of God we have the freedom to make choices., example. what we think about, the images in our mind an our behaviours. However, what ever we do we are accountable to God the Creator. You asked, "What?" Yes, we are accountable to Him (GOD). It may not seem so to most of us but that is not the line of this writing. Well back to the topic question. "What do you glory in?" What is it that you are pursuing in life at the moment that you will not compromise with anything? It may be wisdom ( like our Profs in the University) might (power) (like our world leader who think that they are in control) or riches( our self made millionaires and billionaires. Wait! Do not get me wrong. As a human being these things are very important but there should be something more about this life. But you say to me; hang on these are the right things. I am not disputing but imagine that your reference as to what is important changes. Say somebody who created you and whose word cannot change say to you that you have to change your perspectives as per the concepts you hang your achievement on.

In the book of Jeremiah 9:23 and 24 this being the Creator of the entire Universe who breathe to you and me had these to say:

"Thus said the Lord . Let the wise man glory not in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches. But let him that glorieth glory in this , that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the Lord which excerciseth lovingkindness, judgement and rightness in the earth: for in these things I delight saith the Lord.

What do you think? I know this Scripture but reading it recently has challenged my value system once again. Where is God and His Word in your life and decision making framework. Do you aspire to know Him; knowing that that physical and spiritual life and hence your destiny depends on the knowledge and wisdom of God? Remember, seek yr first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these (wisdom, power, riches) shall be added to you as well (Matthew 6:33).

First thing first - what are you do you glory in? Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul and will all your strength. And your neighbour as yourself.

Our desire to know and understand God will stem from our desire to love and obey Him. Jesus Christ real God, real Man, did that before us all as an example. This quest for knowledge and understanding of God comes with a reward - ETERNAL LIFE! This is eternal life that thay may know you the ONLY TRUE GOD and JESUS CHRIST the one you sent to the earth (John 17:3).

Have your priority in terms of your pursuit changed? Whatever happens the choice is yours. My choice is that of Joshua "As for me and my household we will serve the Lord."
