What is your SHAPE?
I recently came across an acrostic (a poem, word puzzle, or other composition in which certain letters in each line form a word or words) that I thought I might share with you today ... SHAPE ... Spiritual gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, Experiences. And, as I share this acrostic with you, I want to also expand on it.
Shape ...Spiritual gifts. Qorintiyim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 12:8-10--"For to one is given the manifestation of Ruach HaKodesh, and to another a word of knowledge according to the same Ruach, and to another belief by the same Ruach, and to another gifts of healing by ha-Ruach, and to another operations of powers and to another prophecy, and to another discerning of spirits, and to another kinds of tongues, and to another interpretations of tongues."
sHape ... Heart. Mishle (Proverbs) 4:23--"Watch over your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the sources of life."
shApe ... Abilities. Eph'siyim (Ephesians) 2:10--"For we are His workmanship, created in Yeshua ha-Meshiach unto good works, which Elohim prepared beforehand that we should walk in them."
shaPe ... Personality. Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah) 1:5--"Before I formed you in the belly I knew you, and before you came out of the womb I did set you apart - I appointed you a prophet to the nations."
shapE ... Experiences. Tehillim (Psalms) 34:8--"[Tet] Oh, taste and see that YeHoVaH is good; blessed is the man that takes refuge in Him!"
Let me brag on some of my friends for a moment.
Why do we have all these gifts that SHAPE us? Because YeHoVaH gave them to us!! Anything that you enjoy doing, do well, or want to try is an interest or talent that you got from YeHoVaH!! He alone wired those interests into your hearts and lives!!
I'm going to brag about a few of my friends this morning; I don't think they would mind.
One of my friends, Cody, has a voice like none other. If this young man had any CDs for sale, I would be buying them up like crazy. He sings one song, "Ain't No Grave Gonna Hold Me Down" (?), and- Man up a tree! -you cannot help but know and see the YAHsome talent this young man has that YeHoVaH gave to him.
Another of my friends, Kimberly, has the patient steadiness of hand to draw and sketch. The few pieces of her work that I have been privileged to see are absolutely stunningly lifelike. One of her sketches that I've seen was a pair of praying hands ... another YAHsomely awesome talent from YeHoVaH.
Still another of my friends, Andrew, is a photographer. Very up and coming. He snaps shots of the landscape, animals, vehicles, people ... all sorts of things. But, when Andrew takes these shots, he brings to us, the viewers of his works of art photography, what YeHoVaH has given to us as beautiful. YAHsomely awesome talent.
I have many, many friends- Anthony, Debbie, Holli, Jim, Lindsey, Mike, Tim, Timothy, and many more -who have a gift of encouragement, a gift that goes beyond simple placating compliments. Their words of encouragement touch the core of my being and give me thoughts of improvement and continued forward momentum. YAHsomely awesome talent.
One more, my Grandma [Fay] Jones, who loves to love. It matters not to my grandma if you are a social undesirable or a social pariah or some other type of hardcore sinner (which we all are), she will love you. I'm sure there are plenty of people who have disappointed my grandma along the way, myself included; but, the thing that sets my grandma apart from mainstream society is that she never hates, she only loves. This is not to say that my grandma has no other talents, she does, she's a very crafty young lady (I love you, Grandma!!), but Grandma's love for people is a demonstration to the rest of us that if you think you have no talent, you really do ... love. YAHsomely awesome talent. Qorintiyim Aleph (1 Corinthians) 13:13--"And now belief, expectation, and love remain - these three. But the greatest of these is love."
What talent(s) has/have YeHoVaH given to you?
How did all these friends of mine, how can all of us, any of us, find out what gifts YeHoVaH has given to us? Learn, memorize, put into action, read, and study His Word and discover how YeHoVaH has SHAPEd you. Be careful, though, you can discover every facet of your SHAPE and still miss the mark of YeHoVaH's plan and purpose for your life. Use your YAH-given talents to and for His glory, not your own!!
