What Is Your Priority!?
Seek First HIS Kingdom
Matityahu-ha’Levi (Matthew) 6:33 says, “But seek first Elohim’s Kingdom, and His righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well.”
We are given the highest goal in all the Earth, the highest goal that we will ever seek to accomplish. Seeking Elohim’s Kingdom above all else is our greatest priority and our main goal. Seeking Elohim’s Kingdom above all else determines our efforts and our preparations.
Most all of you know that I am attending an online school (snhu.edu) with a degree in Psychology only eighteen months away, and, after that, perhaps a doctorate in Psychology. I cannot meet my goal of graduating with my degree if I do not first “hit the books”, participate in the discussion boards, seek the knowledge, and take the tests. Most of my time, when I’m not lecturing the kids for homeschool studies or working on Bible study notes, I can be found bouncing around the Internet walls of snhu.edu. Why? Because I have a goal, and I am going to do everything in my power to reach that goal. I have favorite TV programs that I like to watch; but, most of the time, I forgo TV to get homework done. I have DVD movies that I would love nothing more than to watch; but I forgo movie time to get homework done. And, what’s more, when the kids have doctors appointments, Mark is usually the one who takes them; those two hours or so that he’s gone with the kids make a huge difference in me being able to concentrate.
Earlier, in the same chapter of Matityahu-ha’Levi- chapter 6 -in verses 19-21, Yeshua says, “Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the Earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” Now, when I take into consideration verses 19-21 in light of verse 33, I have to be careful that my pursuit of a psychology degree is not the first priority in my life.
Every night, I lay down in my bed and plump up my pillow and snuggle into the crook of Mark’s elbow and shoulder, and every morning, I open my eyes to find that Elohim has given me yet another wonderful gift, even more beautiful and precious than the one before … twenty-four (24) hours. That equals 1,440 minutes or 86,400 seconds. This is what Elohim has credited my daily account with, and it becomes my choice how I want to spend every second and minute of this new day. And, whether you’re a billionaire Internet CEO for Microsoft® or a ditch digger for some no-name construction company, you have the same amount of time every day credited to your account as I have credited to mine. And, remember, ha-satan is not going to brow beat you into ignoring Elohim, he’ll just put things in your pathway that you will make your priority instead of seeking Elohim … work, spouse, children, TV, cell phone, DVD movies, tablets, computers, shopping, Psychology degrees ...
