Life in the spirit and death through the flesh
We are taught that as believers all the negative attributes of being a Christian. The teaching of wrath, revenge, and discipline are the only types most are accustomed to hearing because that keep people leaning and depending on the need to congregate. However, putting fear into the eyes of the followers of Christ only makes life more difficult to live. The holy bible was not meant to do this.
We are often confused about the nature of God because of the historical elements that comes along with our faith. This element is called the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our limited understanding of Christ has to do with our limited understanding of God. We saw the fathers heart in the beginning back in Genesis when he established the Garden of Eden. In his graciousness God gave Man dominion over everything. This says a lot about an all knowing and all powerful being. Also, when he saw the loneliness of man he gave companionship. Just to name a few, these are examples of the heart of God.
Saved people deal with the confusion of who God really is and stems from lack of relationship with the father. Sometimes adding outside knowledge makes it even worst. Like reading books that suggest the bible has missing books. Those types of readings can damage the way you grow in the spirit.
When believers congregate the messages that flow are tied to someones relationship but is helpful because it indicates that God is real. However, the problem with relying so heavenly on Church is sometimes you forget that the Church is in you, and that your relationship is not based on the physical structure of the building but the spiritual structure of your relationship.
Having a relationship with God will alert you as to what part of the message being said is for you. Sometimes none of it is for you. Overall, having a relationship with God will better your understanding of who you are and who he is to you, and for you.
More and more as we grow, we are learning individually how to understand God holistically. He is a God of love, but do you understand his love? His love comes in many forms. Such as, faces, colors, ethnicities, and backgrounds. We place a whole heap of limits on God when we paint a picture of him that only exhibits one race, gender, creed, or belief. God lives in us and us in him. Meaning, the world is filled with people from all over the world that may or may not have the same skin tone, language, belief, and relationship with him, but ties us all together as one through the gift of salvation.
Through this gift we are all saved. Salvation is available to everyone that believe. Salvation comes by confessing that Jesus died for us believing this in our hearts we are considered saved, but only through salvation are we saved.
God loves us so strongly he sent a savior to die which was him manifested in flesh. He decided that since he created this mess he had to come down and clean it up. He did just that. He came down from his Kingdom in heaven to kill the flesh in the flesh. Because of this, there is a constant waring between the flesh and the spirit. Jesus was both flesh and spirit. He conquered death as it appears in the natural but really in the spirit. Its your spirit that will live forever through salvation.
Life vs. Death
Life and death, in other words, spirit and flesh is something that we have to conquer daily. There is life through the spirit and death through the flesh. All spiritual but can cause physically death. When we are letting our flesh drive the car; we are susceptible to picking up diseases like aids and so forth. Also, living in the flesh creates blurred vision. Meaning, your spirit being cannot guide you if the flesh is overriding the system. The spirit telling you to do one thing, but you can barely hear it because your flesh has full control. This can really be dangerous because in the heat of a moment flesh will back down and let spirit take the fall when your spirit was on lock down. Thats just how the enemy tricks us today. He will lead us the the spot then throw up how we're supposed to be Christians, the same trick happens with the flesh and spirit.
Think about when Jesus was being tempted by Satan with all the very things man is saying is in operation. When God, Jesus, Lord said no to the enemy this destroyed every Kingdom that stood against the plan of salvation which is to save people. Life through salvation denounces any Kingdom that may attempt to come your way. God did this for you, but you have to choose life rather than death. The choice is yours. What will you choose?
- Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
- Proverbs 18:21 (KJV)Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
- Romans 8:1-11 (KJV)There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus,[a] who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh, 4 that the righteous requirement of the law might be fulfilled in us who do not walk according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. 5 For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. 6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. 7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God; for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can be. 8 So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God.9 But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. 11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
