When God showers, He pours!
As the countdown begins for Swami's 90th Birthday Celebrations, Sathya Sai Grama in Muddenahalli is bustling with activities. Swami setting foot here has made the otherwise sleepy school campus brimming with life, drenched with grace.
As you enter Sathya Sai Grama, on the right side you find the aesthetically designed apartment complex in its final stages of completion getting a fresh coat of colour. Sri Sathya Sai Premamrutham, the Darshan Hall behind Prem Deep, is a giant structure which can accommodate about 10000 devotees. The grandeur of the hall in the interior with exquisite chandeliers hanging from the roof will give the feel of Bhooloka Vaikuntam. The colonial styled edifice looks magnificent with a temple front exterior. Swami has declared this is for Prema Sai. The inauguration is scheduled on 18th November 2015. The Chief Minister of Chattisgarh, Sri Raman Singh is expected to grace the occasion. There will be a launch of ‘Sanathana Vani’, a 24*7 Internet Radio which will broadcast Divine discourses, Bhajans, and music. Renowned artists will pour out their love for Bhagawan in the form of a musical concert.
The German air-conditioned tents have come up to accommodate the overflowing devotees who would visit during the Birthday Celebrations. Coin Laundromat will provide professional laundry service at a discounted rate to all the devotees staying inside the Ashram. Beautiful landscaped gardens are being developed in the Hostel premises and Prem Deep, saplings planted on either sides of the main road leading to Sri Sathya Sai Anandam. A goshala, an indoor stadium, a swimming pool, a college of music and fine arts, a general hospital and a scientific research centre are in the pipeline. This is what Swami can do, is capable of. Who would have thought Sri Sathya Sai Loka Seva Institutions which was limited to Alike and Muddenahalli would organise a World Youth Meet to be attended by 1500 youths from 20 countries?! The World Youth Meet will begin on the 19th and conclude on 23rd November 2015. Eminent speakers representing world religions would address the delegates. Grama Seva will be held on 22nd November.
Alike and Muddenahalli did not enjoy the privileges that Prasanthi Nilayam or Brindavan or Anantapur campuses boasted of, being directly under the Divine tutelage. Students here hardly enjoyed the physical proximity of the Lord. The only interaction an average Alike student would have had with Bhagawan was to invite Him to visit Alike. An exercise we followed every year when we were brought to Prasanthi. The unmarried Tyagajeevis wore a pair of simple white Dhothi and Kurta and continued to render their selfless service with Swami in their hearts, the real unsung heroes. Only now do we realise, He had bigger plans for Alike and Muddenahalli. Swami is on a 3 day visit to Alike from 28th to 30th November 2015, gracing the campus for the third time this year. The inauguration of the renovated house of Late Sri Madiyal Narayan Bhat is on the main agenda. He will be laying the foundation stone for the Girls’ Pre University College which He had announced during the last visit. The ‘Superior’ Hospital which Swami had started during His physical sojourn is being extended with additional beds and operation theatres. Sports facilities in the campus are being upgraded. The new PU block for Boys which is under construction should be complete by March 2016. The design of the new auditorium complex is awaiting the Lord’s approval. Swami wants the staff quarters to be ready. When God showers, He pours!
Swami is getting the tarmac ready for Prema Sai’s landing. Yet another opportunity given to another set of people to celebrate His advent and mission, but of course, is in no way superior or inferior to others.
“Very soon the entire humanity will flock (to Him) like bees to the nectar. It gets darkest before the dawn. Do not be misled by the events of the past. Soon the entire humanity will live in peace and harmony. Prema or Love would reign supreme and hate would find no place to hide just as the darkness of the night vanishes when the Sun comes up on the horizon to light up the world.”
