Peace Wanted Just To Be Free: A Duet
An Incredible Duet of Peace
The Unfurling of Peace
Beauty in the Breath of Song
In my quest for peace I came across this exquisite, yet unlikely duet by Stevie Wonder and Luciano Pavarotti. I admit I am a fan of both unbelievably talented men. The performance of this piece moved me to listen to it over and over again. Late into the wee hours of the morning, tears streaming down my cheeks, the music enthroned me in a seat of loving, passionate desire for a heart, a new world, filled with the restful treasures that only peace can provide.
Suddenly the following verse began to flow into my being progressively touching each note.
"I beg you brothers and sisters, rest your mind.
Close your eyes, surf the waves of your heart
trembling with the purity of universal language,
from the feminine comes the unconditional spirit,
the harmony which diversity produces
when Peace Just Wants to be Free!
Sent on the wings of the wind...listen,
each note carries a key to life sustained...forever!"
Isn't Peace Worth Freeing?
Though Unilateral disarmament seems unlikely any time soon, the feeling attached to the theme of this masterful piece of music and it's staggeringly soulful performance by two musical icons seems to testify it's possibilities.
Separated only by genre, the stark diversity yet harmoniously orchestrated performance suggests we can produce peace...if we will give it flight to the heavens. Call me a dreamer, but for this moment or set of moments, part of our world, the center of our existence is at peace, unblemished by the conflicts and limitations of life. Linger a moment, please, and experience the grandeur of peace on the wings and voices of freedom!
May peace always be with you... May the inspiration of music and genuine love remain!!! Bravo! Bravo! Bravo!
