Day of Purification

According to the ancient Hopi prophecy, when the Blue Star Kachina dances it will signify the end of the fourth world and the emergence of the fifth world.

The Hopi believe there will be a 'Day of Purification' during catastrophic events as the present world ends. Those who continue on will be pure of heart and work for World Peace for all people.

The Ancient Hopi Prophecy has Been Orally Handed Down for Many Generations

When the Blue Star Kachina makes its appearance in the heavens, the fifth world will emerge.

— Hopi Prophecy

Sirius

What is meant by "When the Blue Star Kachina removes his mask."?

It is Sirius the Hopi refer to as the 'Blue Star Kachina'. However, stars can and do change color under certain circumstances. Sirius B was at one time more massive than its larger partner but consumed its own outer blue layers and became a red giant then collapsed into a white dwarf.

There has been a discrepancy with scholars about the color of Sirius. Claudius Ptolemy, Greek astronomer, sometime around 150 AD was the first to describe Sirius as reddish in color. Was Ptolemy right and was Sirius A at one time red like Sirius B?

Sirius is the brightest star in the night sky, is about twice as huge as the sun and has more luminosity. If for some reason the super-giant star changes color, even for one night or so, that could be the sign of the Kachina removing his mask.

Sirius, The Great Dog

Sirius A is in the Canis Major constellation and is called The Great Dog. Sirius B, the white dwarf is referred to as The Pup, which shows as a tiny white dot, lower left.

Nine Signs of the Coming of the Fifth World

White Feather of the ancient Hopi Bear Clan revealed the nine signs that were to come before the Fifth World emerges.

  • 1. We are told of the coming of the white-skinned men, like Pahana, but not living like Pahana, men who took the land that was not theirs. And men who struck their enemies with thunder. (cavalry, cannons, guns)
  • 2. Our lands will see the coming of spinning wheels filled with voices. In his youth, my father saw this prophecy come true with his eyes. (white men bringing their families in wagons across the prairies)
  • 3. A strange beast like a buffalo but with great long horns, will overrun the land in large numbers. These White Feather saw with his eyes. (The coming of the white man's cattle)
  • 4. The land will be crossed by snakes of iron. (railroad tracks)
  • 5. The land shall be crisscrossed by a giant spider's web. (the internet)
  • 6. The land shall be crisscrossed with rivers of stone that make pictures in the sun. (highways, freeways, aerial views)
  • 7. You will hear of the sea turning black, and many living things dying because of it. (oil spills)
  • 8. You will see many youth, who wear their hair long like my people, come and join the tribal nations, to learn their ways and wisdom.

The final sign:

You will hear of a dwelling-place in the heavens, above the earth, that shall fall with a great crash. It will appear as a blue star. Very soon after this, the ceremonies of my people will cease.

— White Feather

Fifth World of the Hopi

will a comet be the Blue Star Kachina? If a comet hits Earth, it will "fall with a great crash." And comets usually do "appear as a blue star".

Comet ISON was discovered on September 21, 2012 Although Comet ISON fully disintegrated during its perihelion passage (closest to the sun) on December 18, 2013, according to CIOC (NASA Comet ISON Observing Campaign), it appeared during the December 20, 2012 Mayan calendar end which many thought it predicted the end of the world or a major transformation on Earth. It obviously was not the end of the world, yet can be seen as a major spiritual transformation which would have begun on December 21, 2012.

These are some thoughts to ponder in support of the Hopi Blue Star Kachina prophecy and a related cosmic event. It does seem like a consciousness of spirituality has grown rapidly since December 2012.

More and more people are openly expressing the call for World Peace, seeking their highest Truths, reaching out to others to come together for enlightenment which can bring about a major transformation in the Fifth World. This is not a time to follow false prophets and charismatic leaders, but to follow your hearts and own spiritual guidance. This is a time to focus on your spiritual journey and the evolution of consciousness.

The time will come when from the Earth will arise a mystic fog which will dilute the minds and hearts of all people. Their guidelines of wisdom and knowledge will falter, the Great Laws of our Creator will dissolve in the minds of people. Children will be out of control and will no longer obey the leaders, immorality and the competitive war of greed will flourish.

— Chief Dan Evehema

The Quote is Symbolic

Chief Dan Evehema, Spiritual leader, Eldest Elder Greeswood, Snake Priest, Roadrunner Clan Society Father, Kachina Father, was the most revered of the Hopi Elders.

Have we not been silent while governments of the world have done so much to quiet our voices and fog our minds?

Many of our younger generations, after twelve years of public education, are illiterate when they graduate.

There is more immorality portrayed on television, in the movies and in the manner of dress. To promote a new movie, a well-loved and respected actress had a photo-shoot done in a dress which bared her derriere - it seems to be the fad now with many celebrities to compete in baring their bodies. The word 'modesty' has become extinct with many people in the public eye.

Catastrophic Events

Will the catastrophic events the Hopi refer to be something we can survive - or will it be an actual end with destruction of Mother Earth?

Is it referring to a pole flip as scientists have talked about for so long? Another prophecy of the Hopi is very likely referring to a pole flip.

Turtle Island could turn over two or three times and the oceans could join hands and meet the sky.

— Hopi Prophecy

Turtle Island

Turtle Island is what many Native American tribes call North America.

Regardless of what is to come, it is important to live in the moment, to be as a Lantern Carrier and spread Enlightenment, to face our dark side and find our own inner peace with our highest truths. The best thing we can do for ourselves is to let go of negativity and hate - replace it with Peace and Love which will raise our vibration to the level consistent with the Divine.

Can a Pole Flip Occur?

Peace and Beauty

Or will the new world be one of, as yet, unimaginable Peace and Beauty?

As you meditate, what are your thoughts on the Hopi Prophecy?

Frank Waters and Book of the Hopi

Book of the Hopi was written by Frank Waters and first published in 1963.

Thirty elders of the ancient Hopi tribe of Northern Arizona revealed to Frank Waters the secrets of their religious rituals and ceremonies - sacred secrets they have kept to themselves and handed down orally for centuries untold.

Waters recorded their words, the meanings of the ritualistic ceremonies and the wisdom that is meant as a warning to future generations. The elders revealed the Hopi Prophecy that is ancient. The prophecy is a reminder that we need to maintain peace and harmony within ourselves and with all Creation if we are to avoid the catastrophes that are predicted for the end of The Fourth World, which we are currently in.

Book of the Hopi

I bought this book several years ago and highly recommend it to anyone interested in the traditions and culture of the Hopi people. I enjoy the book immensely and refer to it often when researching and writing on the Hopi.

This was a fascinating read, and I learned something new. The Hopi prophecy sounds interesting, so many of these prophecys around the world, I believe them to be just myths and legends, but what do I know? lol!

Hi whonu. What a delight to hear from you! I often wonder about the same things you do - and that is why I am so interested in the Hopi peoples, which I intend to spend more time on and write more hubs about them. They are a fascinating culture and their history is very interesting. Thank you so much for reading and contributing your thoughts. I do believe there were other civilizations far more advanced than ours is and also tried to save their world. I wish I had more time to delve into Atlantis and other ancient civilizations, which also fascinate me. Thanks again, whonu. Blessins to you.

Hi Phyllis my friend, I have often wondered if in the billions of years our world has been in existence, there may have been many civilizations far superior to our own present one...that they too, met their fates in scenarios such as catastrophic asteroid collisions, self destructive means or other natural causes. Is this the singular end times or have there been others before us? I do remember native tribes that have said the earth shall cleanse itself, before mankind totally destroys it beyond repair. I do hope that we, as a people join together in order to form a unified attempt in cleansing the earth from all the pollution and destructive habits so prolific today. It is our choice and we must decide. Thank you for this thought provoking work. whonu

Hi annart. Thank you for reading, sharing and such a wonderful comment. I agree on "we have to get rid of these self-serving governments first". More and more people are striving for World Peace, and it just keeps growing. Hopefully, we will overcome these governments who are at odds with our endeavors. Thanks again for contributing with your thoughts.

This is instructive and fascinating, Phyllis. What a beautiful prophecy (apart from the destruction of course)! It's true that man is making an awful mess of so many things but there are those who are trying to redress the balance. It would be good to think that working for world peace would spread more quickly but we have to get rid of these self-serving governments first (and I'm including ours in that).

      Great hub. Shared.

Hi Mary tillsontitan. I always love to hear from you.

Yes, there are many similarities to Christianity in the Hopi beliefs and prophecy. The Hopi wisdom of Creation and what is to come is uncanny - yet we need to look deeper to understand their wisdom and knowledge. If we delve into our own spirituality we have a more vivid clarity of the spiritual meanings of Hopi legends. The end of this world will be the end of power-grabbing people and wars as a new and higher form of people in a higher level of spirituality. I know you are one who absorbs and understands and that is wonderful. I am a Lantern Carrier and so are you - many people are in today's world and we do what we can to pass on enlightenment. I saw the need for this (as so many others have) many years ago when I began to study the Hopi people and it is spreading, one lantern at a time. It is the Hopi purpose to spread light and wisdom.

The end of this Fourth World is a major spiritual movement which will bring in the Fifth World of great wisdom as people open their eyes and hearts to Peace and Love for All Creation.

Thank you, Mary, for reading and contributing to this article with your thoughts. I appreciate you so much.

I love reading these articles Phyllis and learning about our Native American brothers.

There are many similarities to Christianity here and the Native American Prophets show a wisdom and prescience that was accurate and chilling. Perhaps their foretelling is the end of the world?

Very interesting writing my friend. We as a people certainly have pushed beyond the limits in our disrespect for this planet and all of nature. The creator of us all, our God, knows our final resting places and it will ultimately be up to him in deciding our human fates. Thank you for this work and reminding us of our responsibilities here on this planet. whonu

Phyllis, I thoroughly enjoyed this article. The Hopi as well as many other native American tribes, and other native peoples such a the Mayans, Australian Aboriginals etc seemed to have been endowed with great wisdom and to be more in tune with the Earth and the Heavens than modern man. Some of these prophesies are in line with others I have read so they can't be dismissed lightly. There may come a time when the Blue Star Kachina does dance.Wonderfully written as always.
