When you think about your wife .... Remember just whose daughter she is ...

Treat her as His daughter and all goodness will follow.

Whose daughter is she ... she is His daughter. That is right and each person you encounter is a child f God. She belongs to God. When you come to that realization you will treat her accordingly. She is His daughter so knowing that He loves her with all of His heart you can follow suit and love her with all of your heart. She may be your wife but she is His daughter. Make no mistake about it. Sometimes the world gets very confused with this obvious scenario. He is the one who created all of us so your wife is His daughter. She belongs to God so your job becomes to treat her as God's daughter. How much better would the world be if we were able to manifest that into all of our marriages? We would find ourselves much more loving and caring. We would be much more understanding and much more devoted. Overall we would be much more happy and content.

I have been blessed with a wonderful wife and she happens to also be a nurse. It warms my heart when I watch her being so kind, gentle, compassionate and loving to so very many others. It is not an accident that my wife is a nurse. God puts us where He wants us to do His work. Each and every one of us matters a great deal and most of all we matter to God. The opportunity for us is there. The challenge is to be loyal and faithful and to do His work for His purpose and not for ours. We need to act accordingly and as children of our Lord. Sometimes we are just in the way and we need to get out of the way. One way to start would be to realize that your wife is His daughter and that all of us belong to Him. God loved us so much that Jesus went to the cross to save us. He is more than willing to do anything for us. Are we more than willing to do anything for Him? It starts with loving each other, self sacrifice and ultimately letting God take over and be our guide. I always end up just concluding that I have much work to do. God loves us anyway and is always patient with us but we have to help ourselves. We have to open our heart and let Him inside and let Him work.

The following except is from the book "Rediscover Jesus" by Matthew Kelly. This is from page 65:

I made a poster to hang in my daughter's room that reads:

"I am the daughter of a great King. He is my father and my God. The world may praise me or criticize me. It matters not. He is with me, always at my side, guiding me and protecting me. I do not fear because I am His."

His commitment to us is very obvious. We need to have strong commitment to Him and manifest that commitment to each other. It always starts and finishes with love. Here are some verses on commitment:

Psalm 37:5 Commit your way to the Lord,
Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Job 5:8 “But as for me, I would seek God,
And to God I would commit my cause—

John 1:2 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,

Proverbs16:3 Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established.
