Where Is Heaven Today?

Updated on December 14, 2014

Is Heaven up there somewhere later?

Source

Today's Heaven, is it nearby?

I have seen it in a smile.

I have seen it in a helping hand.

I have seen it on bended knees.

I have seen it in patient teaching.

I have seen it in nature's symmetry.

I have seen it in the stars of the Milky Way.

I have seen it in the trusting faces of children.

I have seen it in the hands of a surgeon.

I have seen it in the smallest things:

-----in the thanks given for success,

-----in the tenderness of a mother holding a sleeping child,

-----in the knowing wink of a grandparent,

-----in the tears of joy at a homecoming,

-----in the tears of love at a parting,

-----in each sacrifice of one for another.

I have seen it in another's deep contemplation.

I have seen it in a sinner's remorse.

I have seen it in the practiced skill of musicians.

I have seen it in the purity of babes

-----in the excitement of youth,

-----in the adoration of lovers,

-----in the partnerships of the elderly.

I have seen it in you,

and I hope to glimpse it reflected in the eyes of others today..

Those hands have served so many others, just as they will today.

Demas, you have moved our inner self, you are true that the heaven lies within the prmises of our relationships and attitudes, though the heaven seems to be far off, infact we live in our home, walk on a street, do bussiness...all with a comaraderie of heaven. Very well said. May God shower His abundant mercy on you.

FlourishAnyway - "If a man loves me he will keep my commandments, and my father which is in Heaven will love him, and we will come and make our abode with him." Sounds to me as if that would be Heaven on earth. That's a beautiful thought too! Moving us to action?

One can always tell who serves others first, can't we?

aviannovice - First things first, and service to others has to be right up there. Sfolks get quite the surprises when they pray to know of others they might serve. ; - )
