Why Do I Go To Church? God My Refuge!
Love For God Draws Me To Church
My Reasons
This is a Personal list of why I go to church. A question I am asked more times than you would think. However, My answer is always personal. I take my love and walk with Christ personally. I love to be around others that love God the way I love him. I hope this hub bless someones life to understand, regardless of all the negative things that are said about the CHURCH, I still long to be there ,whenever I have a chance and it brings Joy to my very soul.
1. LOVE for God and the things of God/I love him Because he first loved me.
John 14:15 “If you love me you will keep my commandments,”
2.The bible instructs me to fellowship/I love being with people of liked minds
Acts 2:46 And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart
3.Praise/Where Praise is God is/ and even though I can Praise him at home,I rather be away from the cares of life and concentrate on him totally,and for me that place is the house of God,his house and his time.
Psalms 22:3 The Bible says that God inhabits in the praises of His people
4.Worship/How I love to give God thanks for all he has done for me and how it has blessed my life to believe in him. Without him I would feel hopeless in a world that can be difficult at times.Remember 9/11,Katrina,Tsunami. Only the Lord could comfort me during these times.
When I am in church, that is where it is just the Lord and me, when I worship, The atmosphere is set, no phones or other distractions, just me and the Lord and the agreement of his People,fellow-shipping on one accord.
1 Chronicles 16:9 Sing to him, sing praise to him; tell of all his wonderful acts.
5.Joy/The bible states that Joy is related to Health. I feel joyful when I am in the house of the Lord, I bring all my cares of the past week and lay them before his feet, and my burdens are lifted and my heart is full of joy, and I have probably saved myself, so many trips to the doctor, related to stress. For my stress is relieved in JOY.
Proverbs 15:30 "A cheerful look brings joy to the heart; good news makes for good health."
6.Refuge/Who does like a place where they feel Safe, that is what the house of the Lord means to me, A Safe Haven.
Psalm 46:1 God is our refuge and strength,a very present help in trouble
7.Witness/A place to learn how to share the love of God with others
Matthew 9:37-38 Then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field."
8.Peace/I am more at peace when I am in the Lord's house then any place in the world/The church use to be a place that was open 24/7 until thieves started breaking in and robbing the house of God. What a wonderful thing it would be to have the church open 24/7 for the homeless,grieved or lost, to come in from out of the cold.
Isaiah 26:3 *You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.
9.Love for the word of GOD/The Church is where I get a better understanding of God's word under the Leadership of the Preacher.
Romans 10:17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word of Christ
10.Encouragement/This is the time to share your victories over life ordeals with others and they with you.
Hebrews 10:25 Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another–and all the more as you see the Day approaching.
