Why Does Russia Invade Israel In the End Times?

Believers in the Bible's Book of Revelations about End Times on Earth before Christ returns, always try to reason with its passages. Many feel it is about to start or has been started. One can point to when Israel became a country in 1948, or when they took Jerusalem in 1967, or to President Trump's announcement that the U.S. Embassy will be relocated to Jerusalem in 2018. The Syrian mess has pulled Russia into the equation and they plan to remain there. The Iranians still vow to destroy Israel and have thousands of missiles that can now reach Tel-Aviv. The question of the Palestinians having their own country remains unresolved. There is no question another war will happen there, it is just when.

Russia wants to keep their warm water port and with over 10 naval warships there, sophisticated anti-aircraft missiles create a protective umbrella. Russian soldiers do occupy areas in Syria. Russia continues to provide support to Syrian and Iranian troops within Syria.

The Book of Revelations indicates that Russia and other Arab nations will be drawn into the area with a hook of some sort in the last war. This will be one of many "rumors of war" that play out before the main event called Armageddon.

What is this hook?

In the coming years, Israel will have some very appealing resources that other countries will want. Already, Israel has discovered and is using large, vast fields of natural gas, found in the Mediterranean seabed. There are several large drilling rigs in place and there is enough natural gas found to supply Israel with its needs. Projections show that even more natural gas lies off the Israeli coast that would create a surplus allowing Israel to export it. Already, the Palestinians are claiming some of the sites are theirs.

Another discovery is oil. This was first found back in 1995, but it was not pursued again until 2016. The area is south of the Dead Sea and it is estimated that at least 7 million barrels or more lie buried under the sentiment. Some estimates are as high as 11 million barrels. Geologists feel that this underground oil will tap into other underground reservoirs of oil, in effect, draining them into the site within Israel. Already, Jordan has said that his oil is theirs, on their land lost in the 1967 war. With funding to drill at $5 million, Israel is now serious about the find and by October, 2018, the first drilling will occur. If proven correct, this will be another hook to draw in the armies.

Israel already produces tons of potash used in fertilizer and exports it.

Now, you may think these are not enough to lure enemies of Israel to invade and seize them. But, what then, would be the "hook" referred to in the Book of Revelations, if not not these?
