Why Good Leaders Make Positive Impacts #2

Updated on December 27, 2020

Over three decades ago I become interested in the Bible, having drank from the heavenly cup once, I have not been tired to drink more

4. Makes Use of Good Counsels

There are people who have good counselors around them but who do not make use of the good counsels that they have given them, such is not the attitude of a good leader, he recognizes those with good counsels, listens to those good counsels and makes use of those good counsels that they have proffered to him on some issues. Some leaders when they are given good counsels would ignore it claiming that if they make use of such counsels, the person is the one who will take all the glory after its implementation. Such is not the case with the good counselors the primary aim is that they want everything to work well for the people they are living, they want them to live a life that worth it.

5. Knows that He is not all Knowing

A good leader knows that he is not all knowing, thence he makes use of other people’s wisdom and intelligence. Some leaders today act as if they are all knowing, thence they could not make positive impact in the lives of the people they lead, because they will shut their ears to good counsels.

6. Does not force his or her dreams on followers

It is said that a leader ought to have a dream. However, having a dream is not enough, he needs to present his dreams to his followers in an acceptable manner for the people to accept.

No one could actualize his or her dreams alone, we all need people before our dreams can be actualized.

However there are people who would want to force people to accept their dreams and in the process would cause chaos among the people they lead. For a good leader to make impact in his world and among the people he leads, he is the one who does not forcefully rammed his dreams on his followers, but he will gently and systematically present his dreams to them. He however like a good shepherd, who carries the people along in his dream, making them to see what he is seeing and what he has in plans to do.

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. (Isa 40:11)

8. He is Loving

Good leader is loving. A person who does not love the people he is leading would not lead aright.

7. He is Sincere

Good leader is sincere leader, not like others who are not sincere and are playing ostrich with the people’s welfare. They are not the kind of people who will say what they themselves cannot do, what they tell people to do they themselves are willing to do and they will do.

All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not. (Mat 23:3)

9. Compassionate

He is a compassionate person.

10. Cares for the People

He is the type who cares for his followers. When people know that their leader cares for them they also will be willing to go to any length to ensure that the leader succeeds in all he is doing.

11. Sacrificial

A good leader is the one who is ready to sacrifice his comforts for the welfare of those who follow him or her.

12. Fears the Lord

The good leader is the one who fears the Lord. The fear of the Lord is said to be the beginning of wisdom.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding. (Pro 9:10)

13. Gives His followers equal opportunities

Good leader is the one who gives his followers equal opportunities. He will not for any reason takes the opportunity meant for any of his subjects to another person.

All these attributes endear the hearts of the followers to a good leader, and they will be ready to do anything for the group, and as they are doing this, the fortune of the group will also be changing, which by extension will tell on their lives and all they are doing too.
