Why I Love Being a Psychic On Oranum & How You Can Do It Too!

Updated on March 13, 2012

Searching far and wide

I've worked for LivePerson, and that was okay. There expert messenger is definitely up there, and while their genuine traffic level isn't zilch, it certainly isn't conducive to newer advisors. It's better to sign up and let your profile mature before you really put too much energy into it.

Bitwine was also has an excellent messenger service, and like Liveperson, it also offers email and phone services for those who prefer not to chat. Though again, it's not so great as far as attracting new clients, and that is the whole idea of being available as a psychic on an online advising site - to attract new clients.

LivePerson and Bitwine aren't the only psychic platforms out there, but they are the only ones I've had decent enough experiences with to note on here, in comparison to Oranum.

What a site!

It was actually through Bitwine that I found Oranum, as they had partnered up for a commission sharing deal, which is cool with me. When I first went to visit Oranum, I was already impressed by the modern interface, and all the options they offered. Which include but are not limited to:

  • Video Chat
  • Free Chat to attract potential customers and help them decide if they would like to have you preform a reading for them.
  • An easy to access knowledge base of commonly sought information for advisors.
  • Easy to access Advisor Support right through Skype 24/7/365
  • Easy payment options including my favorite Payoneer (a debt/credit card that will be loaded with your payments so you can get them when you need, no waiting like paypal!)
  • An actual psychic test - to weed out the fakers
  • A GREAT referral program that allows you to earn when you refer your fellow psychics
  • The option for your clients to text chat, video chat or just use their mic to talk with you.
  • Free promotional tools for your website

How much can you make?

When you start out on Oranum, you will be on a 2 week probationary term, where they will help you fit in and get used to the Oranum platform and tools. During that time, you will make about 50 cents a minute (they charge 99 cents a minute and you get 50%). After that two week trial period, you can charge more. They will charge give you a generous 50% commission for non-members and 40% for members.

Now, I can't tell you exactly what I've made so far, but I can tell you I made well past the $100 payout threshold in less than four days. The potential is up to you as a psychic advisor. There is no limit to how many readings you can do, or how long you're online. Dedicate yourself to it and I am sure you could easily surpass me!

I just signed up as a way to streamline extra money in. You have to go in with the frame of mind that it's fun and you get paid a little. I was doing exchanges on the side on a tarot forum and thought why not get paid for this. So the transition was there. It can be hard to meet the $100 threshold and you just have to keep at it.

I have been doing psychic readings for many years, but I haven't signed up with Oranum yet. My readings have been by voice, chat or in person, but I'm a little skittish about videos. You certainly can't walk to get a glass of water because you are being watched. It seems you to have to sit there all day waiting for calls. Do they offer any chat or voice options? I guess I need to change with the times.

I had a bad feeling about this network, so I never felt to sign up. I did however look in to Oranum before too.

I have been a professional psychic for many years. The first "heads up" I found was that Oranum was affiliated with the porn network LiveJasmin. That right there sent off red flags to me. Then I started seeing everywhere banners that said, "Free Reading" or "Sign up for your free reading." After further investigation I found out that they don't offer any free reading programs. I sent them an email asking them this, and they told me that they do offer "free minutes" sporadically on their websites on holidays and special events. Five minutes here and there.

I was floored, because other sites that offer free minutes ACTUALLY offer free minutes. Not just a gimmic to get people on to the site.

I have logged on here and there, and have always felt sorry for their psychics. You can tell most of them are new to doing readings, and they are required to "convert" in a high pressure sales environment for the entire time they are logged in. I had a few friends that were on the site at the time, so I asked how they were doing. They were working eight to ten hours per day, and they were making all week what I normally make in a couple of days. That was not an error, I said I "had" a few friends on the site, because they since left the network to pursue better opportunities.

I am sure there are plenty of people that make a lot of money on the site. I have watched their "top psychic" (no names here) for a bit, and tried to start up a conversation. I was kicked out of the room a few times, and in the little time that I watched him he picked his nose as well as smoked a few cigarettes.

I do not have a vendetta against cigarette smoking or nose picking. However, it would be quite frustrating to be on video like a zoo animal all day on SEVERAL of "O's" affiliate sites for the world to view, have to do high pressure sales, and are asked to be the world's magic eight ball.

There are more tasteful networks out there. Don't judge the book by its cover.
